- Bed Bug Mattress Encasement Sealed on All Six Sides: The nylon zipper closure glides around three sides and tucks under a stitched guard flap, leaving no open corner or gap at the pull; sleep tight knowing nothing crawls in and nothing crawls out
- Jersey Knit Mattress Encasement, Soft and Quiet: The knitted polyester face feels more like a soft T-shirt than plastic, silky smooth and silent as you turn over; the breathable jersey fabric handles a warm wash and low tumble dry and keeps its shape
- Waterproof Mattress Cover for Spills and Night Accidents: A waterproof layer sealed beneath the knit helps keep sweat, spills, and wet nights off your mattress; ideal for kids still learning, and when a mess happens it unzips and washes like a sheet
- Dust Mite Mattress Cover and Allergen Barrier: The tight knit and sealed zipper keep dust mite allergens shut inside the mattress instead of drifting into bedding; and rest easier knowing the fabric on your skin is OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified
- Size and Depth: This Queen mattress encasement fits a mattress measuring 60 by 80 inches and 18 inches deep, stretching up to 19; measure yours first, then slip this zippered waterproof bed bug proof cover down like a pillowcase, and zip it closed
Description
Guardmax has been sealing mattresses against bed bugs for years. This is the plain jersey version, for people who want the bed shut and then want to stop thinking about it. It goes on like a giant pillowcase. A nylon coil zipper runs down three sides and finishes under a stitched guard flap, so there is no open corner and no gap where the pull sits. That is the idea behind a bed bug encasement rather than a fitted sheet: once the zipper is shut, anything living in the mattress cannot get out to feed, and nothing new can get in. Add the matching box spring cover, mattress and base are both sealed. The face fabric is a 100 gsm knitted polyester with a 0.025 mm TPU film laminated underneath. The knit is what you feel, and it is soft, matte and noiseless rather than plastic, comfortable enough to sleep on directly. The film is what stops liquid: sweat, a spilled drink or a wet night stays on top and never reaches the mattress. It does not bead up and wipe off, so treat a spill like a sheet. It is machine washable warm, tumble dries low, and is stitched 10 to 12 per inch. Fabric testing puts it at 10,000 mm hydrostatic head, 128 lbf bursting strength, 20,000 rubs of abrasion resistance, and it is made with OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabric. As a dust mite cover it does the same job the bed bug proof mattress protector does. The knit is tight and the encasement zippered shut on every side, so mite allergen stays in the mattress instead of moving into your bedding. That is the usual reason an allergy cover gets bought, and why a hypoallergenic sleeping surface is easier to keep with a bedbug mattress protector than with a pad covering only the top. It earns its keep past an infestation. A zippered waterproof mattress in deep storage, a dorm bed, a guest room, a rental, a camper bunk, or a child still having accidents at night are all easier with an anti bed bug cover already on: breathable knit on top, sealed film underneath, one bed bug protector doing both jobs.
