  • Intelligent Recognition with UIRA-Scene Multiple preset scenarios including moisture, insulation, floor heating, electrics and solar panel enable quick switching and fast detection across scenarios. Powered by the smart UIRA-Scene algorithm, GT16D Infrared camera precisely detects water leaks, insulation issues, and floor heating anomalies. Users can detect problems within seconds, enabling faster home inspections without technical skills.
  • Real-Time Tracking with Dual-ModesFlexible switching between thermal imaging and thermometer modes ensures optimal performance for different detection needs. In thermal imaging mode, the thermal imager continuously analyzes the full scene, highlighting the center, hottest, and coldest areas automatically. In thermometer mode, it can be locked onto a specific point for precise measurement.
  • Dual-spectrum Imaging The combination of thermal imaging and visible light images enhances both detection and identification. Thermal imaging helps users quickly spot hidden anomalies, while visible imaging reveals what the issue actually is. By overlaying thermal data with real-world details, users can accurately identify issues like water leaks behind walls or insulation gaps in roofs.
  • Enhanced Imaging clarity The deep learning UIRA-IR algorithm enhances the native 128128 hardware detector to 240240 continuously and provides real-time 25Hz thermal images with more details. You can gain clearer, more refined thermal visuals and perform accurate analysis in everyday scenarios.

  • Impressive Performance and Clarity: A Highly Functional Thermal Imaging Camera Impressive Performance and Clarity: A Highly Functional Thermal Imaging Camera
This thermal camera is an impressive diagnostic tool that balances advanced features with a user-friendly interface. Right out of the box, it provides clear, actionable data that will be invaluable for home inspections, automotive work, or electrical troubleshooting. Ease of Use and Setup The initial experience with the camera is very positive: Intuitive Interface: The menu system is simple to navigate using only four buttons. It even prompts you to set the local time automatically upon the first power-up. Accuracy Settings: To ensure the most precise readings, the software allows you to adjust the distance from the target and the emissivity of the material. Emissivity Presets: Rather than forcing you to look up values, the camera includes a wide range of common material presets, making it easy to toggle between different surfaces accurately. Calibration and Accuracy The manufacturer provides clear guidance on maintaining the tool's precision: Simple Verification: The manual explains a straightforward calibration check using ice water. By setting the emissivity to 0.95 (a built-in preset), you can quickly verify that the unit is reading within its stated accuracy range. Viewing Modes and "Fusion" Technology One of the standout features of this unit is the variety of display options: Feature Overlays: Each color palette has a "Fusion" option. This technology overlays the visual outlines of objects from the standard camera onto the thermal heat map. This makes it significantly easier to identify exactly what components or areas you are scanning. Multiple Palettes: There are several screen options to choose from, allowing you to select the high-contrast view that best suits your environment. Documentation and Connectivity Media Capture: You can take still photos with a quick pull of the trigger, or hold the trigger down to record video—a great feature for documenting intermittent thermal issues. Data Transfer: Transferring your media to a computer is seamless; the unit uses a standard USB-C cable and is recognized quickly for file downloads. Final Verdict I am very impressed with this camera. It is a well-designed, reliable tool that offers professional-level features like Fusion overlays and easy calibration at a price point that makes sense for serious hobbyists and professionals alike. This will definitely come in handy for a wide range of projects. ... show more

  • Makes Me Feel Like Superman Makes Me Feel Like Superman
My home is 50 years old and has lots of...let's call them areas for improvement. One major issue is insulation. I've been meaning to get one of these for a while so I can tackle some of the insulation issues. I honestly can't compare it to ather thermal imaging system, but I can say it makes me feel like Superman because it feels like I now have X-ray vision. Just a quick point at a surface and I can basically see through walls. Walking around the house confirmed the issues I knew I had in certain areas (for example, in my first photo, I pointed it at a wall that backs up to a walk-in attic. I know the insulation on the attic wall has fallen down because I can see it in the attic. The thermal camera easily revealed the know issue) but also revealed some issues I didn't know about. In my entryway the camera revealed that I probably don't have any insulation in the wall above my front door. It measured almost the exact same temperature as the window right next to it. I'm not sure exactly how I will be able to address all the issues, but at least I know where I need to be looking for improvements. I love that it kind of overlays the image of what you are pointing it at so you both see the thermal info but also can see exactly what you're pointing at. The build quality seems good. It is plastic but seem tough enough to withstand normal use. I wish is came with some sort of case. As it is, I'll be storing it the box it came in for safe keeping for now. It would probably survive okay if I just tossed it in the toolbox but no reason to chance it. This is not a cheap device and at the asking price at the time of order ($179), I find it to be a fair value. You get a lot here but you pay for it. Fair enough. ... show more

  • It’s wild what this picks up! You’re going to love how accurate and sensitive it is! It’s wild what this picks up! You’re going to love how accurate and sensitive it is!
I honestly didn’t expect to enjoy using this as much as I do. It started as me checking vents, insulation, outlets, and random temperature differences around the house, and now everybody keeps grabbing it to scan random things. My dad immediately decided he wants to take it ghost hunting, which probably tells you how fun this thing is to play with. What surprised me most is how sensitive it is. I sat on the floor for maybe a minute while setting it up, and when I powered it on afterward there was a bright orange heat spot exactly where I had been sitting. You can see heat left behind from hands, pets, electronics, coffee cups, vents, door drafts, etc. It picks up subtle changes really quickly. The interface is also way less intimidating than I expected. Most of the controls are straightforward, and the different viewing modes are actually useful instead of feeling gimmicky. I like the overlay/fusion mode because it helps you tell what you’re actually looking at instead of just staring at blobs of color. The image quality is sharp enough that you can pretty easily pinpoint problem areas without guessing. I’ve mainly used it around the house for checking insulation gaps, airflow, outlets, electronics, and trying to track down drafts, but I could easily see this being useful for HVAC work, automotive diagnostics, electrical troubleshooting, water leaks behind walls, or even checking overheated breakers and appliances. Battery life has been solid so far too. My only real complaint is that I do wish it included some kind of carrying case or pouch for storage/protection, especially at this price point. It comes with the charging cable, but a case would’ve been a nice addition for something you’ll probably want to keep protected. I’m really impressed with it. It feels accurate, responsive, easy to use, and honestly kind of addictive once you start scanning everything in sight. ... show more

  • While limited in image quality, it is loaded with features and works well.
I ordered this GT16D thermal imaging camera from AccuMems for several jobs around our house and workshop. The Good: - There are multiple modes for the image including a simple visual image to view it as our eyes would see it, thermal mode and fusion which combines the two. Fusion mode is my preference as I can see the temperature gradients on top of the physical objects I'm looking at. - You can toggle between using it as a IR thermometer where you get the temperature at a specific point, or thermal imaging mode where you get multiple measurement points as well as min/max values. - Battery life is good, and the unit can be charged via USB-C. - You can take pictures and videos that are saved to the unit although I haven't been able to find what the capacity is in any of the documentation on the website or in the manual. The unit can be connected to a PC to easily transfer the images/video via the USB-C cable. - The firmware can be updated by transferring updates to the unit via the USB-C cable. - There are multiple preconfigured scenes specific to your scenario such as looking for water leaks, insulation issues, etc. - The unit overall is highly configurable from date/time settings, unit of measurement, scenes, modes, etc. - The menus and controls are relatively intuitive and reasonable to navigate. - You can configure rules/alarms to alert you for given conditions such as measuring a certain temperature. - The user manual is fairly decent. It's not perfect but better than most these days. The Bad: - The image resolution isn't great. It is 128x128 with an option to digitally enhance it to 240x240. Other cameras at lower prices have better resolutions. - If you move too fast (which isn't very fast at all), it will pause and need to recalibrate. This happens easily and often, but only causes a brief delay. Overall, the price is on the high side for the image quality but on par considering the features and overall quality of the unit. I'm certainly happy with it, but if buying again, I would at least consider other options. ... show more

  • AccuMEMS GT16D Thermal Imaging Camera AccuMEMS GT16D Thermal Imaging Camera
This review is for an AccuMEMS GT16D. I have tested two similar devices from this company - a GT16D and a GT16S. The GT16D has a both an IR camera and a visible light camera that overlays the infrared image to help you better orient yourself on what you are looking at. This camera has a 128x128 detector that is software enhanced to 240x240. The package includes a rechargeable hand held camera, a USB-C charging cord and a manual. Pros: The product description on Amazon is accurate. The AccuMEMS GT16D is a modern IR camera that has some unique features. In addition to the usual IR camera views, the GT16D has several "Usage Scenes" such as "Moisture Detect" and "Home Insulation" settings to make it easier to spot problems. You can see an IR picture of a wall in my home where I know there is no insulation in the last photo. The camera also has an IR Spot mode for more accurate temperature measurements. The camera is very well made and lightweight at less than 1/2 Lb. The screen is crystal clear & there is no lag. You can even see the temperature difference of the veins in the back of your hand. The menu is intuitive and easy to use. The included manual is well written and one of the best I have seen. The manual is well worth reading to get the most from this IR camera. Cons: No case is included. The camera is packaged in a fitted foam box. Overall: Considering all of the the features this IR camera offers, it's an excellent buy for a homeowner, especially at the coupon price. It's an interesting and fun product. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Great tool for detection that is accurate and viewing the image on the screen is such a bonus Great tool for detection that is accurate and viewing the image on the screen is such a bonus
This review is for the GT16D Dual-Spectrum Thermal Imaging Camera, Intelligent UIRA-Scene Detection with Thermometer-Mode Precision Detection, UIRA-IR 240×240 Resolution, -4°F~1202°F, < 50 mK, 11h Runtime, 25Hz. $219.99 This is an excellent dual-spectrum thermal imaging camera. We had a beehive underneath the roof. There was a gap between the roof and the house. We pointed this camera in that gap and detected the beehive and bees. It worked beautifully. The camera has several preset scenarios that you can quickly switch to different scenarios to detect an area. It has moisture, insulation, floor heating, electrics and solar panel presets. It’s amazing to detect any water leaks, insulation problems, and floor heating differences. It works fast, detecting within seconds. The ability to detect temperature readings anywhere in real time is fantastic. It even has a temperature alarm that instantly alerts me and it’s very accurate. It delivers a plus or minus 2% accuracy. Plus, being able to view the images on the screen is such a great tool. The battery lasts a long time. I think it was around 9 hours of continuous use because we spent the entire day looking and evaluating the beehive. It’s comfortable to hold in my hand so my hand didn’t fatigue. I also use this camera in the kitchen when I have a roast that’s coming out of the oven and I want to see what temperature the roast is at the center of the meat. I also use it when I’m deep frying fried chicken because I want to get the oil at a certain temperature for peak crispy chicken during the twice-frying method. ... show more

  • a reliable, well-designed tool that delivers more value than I expected for the price a reliable, well-designed tool that delivers more value than I expected for the price
I’ve been really impressed with the GT16D Dual-Spectrum Thermal Imaging Camera from AccuMEMS. The device feels solid and well-built in hand. While the body is made of plastic, it actually helps keep the weight balanced and comfortable to hold during longer use, and the material itself still feels durable and high quality. There are plenty of settings and configuration options available for different thermal scanning needs, which gives it a lot of flexibility. It also comes with a helpful instruction booklet that makes getting started much easier. The image quality is noticeably sharp thanks to the 240×240 IR resolution, and the dual-spectrum feature makes it much easier to interpret what I’m seeing compared to basic thermal cameras. I especially like the intelligent scene detection—it feels like the device does a lot of the work for you, which is great if you’re not a professional. Temperature readings have been consistent and precise in my experience, and the wide range makes it useful for everything from home inspections to checking equipment. Battery life has also been solid; I can use it for extended sessions without worrying about constantly recharging. Overall, it feels like a reliable, well-designed tool that delivers more value than I expected for the price. ... show more

  • GT16D w IR and visual camera GT16D w IR and visual camera
I have both models of the GT16. This one is the GT16D that has both IR and visual cameras and the other is GT16S that has only the IR camera. I like the GT16D better because you can switch from IR only to mixed mode or visual only. This helps to easily identify exactly where you are looking. Other than this feature, the two models function the same. I keep mine in the tri temperature mode. It let's me see the high and low temps in field and then what ever the view is centered on. I like the AI detection and 25Hz refresh that is rapidly pinpointing hot areas. The additional ability to easily switch between 7 color palettes helps me to see objects better when in various environments. I mostly use this tool to see gaps around windows and doors. I also use it to help locate my outdoor cat. It is sensitive enough to see your footprints left behind as you are walking. ... show more
