Great as a decorative piece using very low energy. For optimal growth it’s really best to just use the full spectrum. The different spectrums are useful though if using as more of a decorative piece and prefer other colors. Few things I did not like on this product. The lens covering/protecting the LEDs is a fog color as opposed to clear. This blocks a lot of the usable lighting for the plants. The build in timer is nice but the options for the hours are 3, 9, or 12. It would be much more efficient to have longer time periods such as 8, 12, 16. For how little power this uses, who would only use it for 3 hours a day? The power factor rating is also horrible. This is normally caused by cheap components(called a driver, somewhat similar to what a ballast does) that regulate power to the LEDs. Overall for the price of this product, their lower power use, and cool decorative looks, I would give these a very favorable rating. ... show more

Ok, I was desperate! We moved into a new place and my plants were getting absolutely, zero sun. My roses were dying, my bamboo looked like it had given up hope and my African Violet looked like it was begging me to put it out of its misery. I tried everything,plant food, new soil, talking to them, everything I could think of. And then I saw an ad for these "grow" lights. I figured, what the heck, might as well give it a shot! It's been about 2 weeks, my bamboo has bright green, leaves, my African violet has lush shiny leaves! And my beloved rose plant has new leaves AND it has a new rose bud ready to bloom! Edit to add resolution note at the end. This company really stepped up! I have been using these for about a month because they looked better than my old lights. Every single plant I have has gotten leggy. I’ve had all the plants for months and they were perfect before this light. They look great but between the stand being flimsy and light not being bright enough (places really close to the plants), it was a great idea, but just not a great product. The seller contacted me and after showing what it did to my plants, they refunded me. This lights might work okay for low light plants like snake plants, but not for succulents or plants requiring full sun for several hours or split stones. They are really cute and the timer is great, but shouldn’t be used on anything like campfire succulents. ... show more
