Some of the people rating this don't know what it is or what it's for. This is a diamond painting ceramic craft knife for cutting top layers of items. Like release paper or cellophane plastic. It's not made to cut the canvas or thick items. It clearly states on the third picture it will NOT cut the canvas. It's a tool you can use to cut things like the plastic or release paper on diamond paintings without cutting the canvas and ruining it. It is used for other things, but that's a great example to explain what it's for. Also the description and pictures already show it's a teeny tiny blade. So rating it poorly for being exactly what is shown and described is very.. odd. If you want something that can cut canvas you need an EXACTO craft knife. Those are the bigger metal blades that can cut canvas and fabric. Not this product and the description is very very clear on that. This works exactly how it's supposed to. I can cut the plastic in between two diamond rows just fine. I cannot cut the canvas however because why would you do that anyway? And it's not made to do that. Get an exacto knife if you want to do that and learn how to read the product info. These are great quality. I did have some difficulty getting the right pressure and keeping it straight. It didn't take long though and I was working with them just fine. I like that I can replace the blades when they get dull. It cuts washi paper really well too. I can even cut the washi paper at the end of the grid line and not cut the plastic. Very good item. Really great and I'm sure I'll find a lot of good uses for it as I craft away. ... show more

I almost didn't buy these, but I am new to Diamond Art, and I went to the store to look for better supplies. I had watched a YouTube video where the person had recommended these, but I didn't find them in the store, only on Amazon. At the store, my two boys decided they wanted to try diamond art because they each found one they really liked. I purchased them and then when we got home and tried to section off a piece using an exact knife, I realized it would be much safer to get one of these pens. I am so glad I got these because they worked great! I didn't have to stress about making sure I didn't cut through the canvas. They worked perfectly for cutting through the plastic to make perfect sections for us to work on! ... show more

This is a decent cutter, there's only a teeny tiny blade though to actually cut. And if you have two rows of diamonds and need to cut between them, you can't. Wouldn't buy it again.
