  • Perfect for a small to medium size lawn
Size: 19" Mower (2x4.0Ah)
I have a fairly small front lawn and lower end of medium sized back lawn. This works perfectly for me. I purchased in early Spring last year and am now starting my second season of mowing. The batteries get a full recharge after only a couple of hours, and how long they last depends on how tall your grass is. There has only been twice that I had to stop for a recharge, once was when my grass was fairly tall during a 'first mow of the season', the other was wanting to test the batteries and was using them on a second mow a week after the first- to which they nearly lasted the whole time. The mower is very easy to assemble, light to maneuver and leaves a very nice cut on the lawn. My lawn isn't perfectly level, and after having a gas-powered mower with a self-propelling feature, I had to get used to the mower not just moving naturally over the uneven ground, but the mower is so light it was just that, something to get used to. It actually takes me less time now to mow my lawns, and is easier with the light weight of the mower. I charge the batteries in-between each mow to ensure I have enough battery and have never had an issue. I highly recommend this mower. ... show more

  • Powerful and easy to use!
Size: 19" Mower (2x4.0Ah)
Bought this to finally replace my gas powered lawn mower. Previously I had a few different gas mowers fail on me, so I figured I should try something new. So far, this thing has been working great for us. The battery life seems to be pretty decent. However, I have noticed I can only mow one lawn at a time, ie front or back. Then I have to go and charge the batteries again before mowing again. This isn't a deal breaker for us because mowing both front and back is typically a lot to do at once. This mower also didn't come with a bag, which I didn't notice in the description at first. However, this hasn't been a problem at all. Surprisingly, the mulching of the grass has been working fine and we barely notice it due to the fineness of the cut grass. Overall this mower has been a great value and I am glad I bought it. I may update this review in the future to add details about the battery life if it starts to go down in quality over time. ... show more

  • I love the mower, but I wish a grass catcher was available for it
Size: 18" Corded Mower
This is a perfect mower for small to medium city lots. If you have an expansive suburban backyard, where you have to mow a long distance away from an electrical outlet, this is not a mower for you - but you probably already knew this. For smaller lots, this is a great mower. We've had it for a few years, and it works great on long-grass (the first mowing after the winter when you suddenly realize the grass is knee high), as well as well maintained grass. It has a relatively sturdy metal housing, it is easy to manouver, and it is really easy to adjust the height (I think it has 5 different options). As in all corded lawn mowers, you have to get used to pushing the mower while keeping the cord away from the mower. Is it a pain? Not too much. I'll take that any day over gas or battery operated ones. Why this vs gas? It pollutes less, and I don't like having to fill up a tank, and smell fumes while I do yard work - but it is a matter of taste. Why this vs battery operated? It is lighter it can keep going for as long as you need it, and it is available whenever you need it. With the battery operated ones, you have to make sure that the battery is charged, and as soon as the battery loses some of its charge, the mower becomes less and less useful. What would have made this mower perfect for me would have been the possibility to attach a grass catcher. Although it is great to have the mulching option, it is also great to have the option of catching the grass when you first mow (and the amount of cut grass on the lawn is way too much) or when there is already enough mulch on the ground. I didn't thing this through when we got the mower, and I now have to dethatch our lawn, which is a bit of a pain. It does have a side chute - it would be awesome if the manufacturer made a bag that attached to the chute. ... show more

  • Lean, green, grass cutting machine
Size: 18" Corded Mower
First of all, I own a Scott's 16" reel lawmower that I've used for three cutting seasons and really love. But this season I decided to keep my reel mower as a spare and to try something new. I didn't want a gas driven mower, and I wanted to try an electric one. Electric mowers have been around for generations, and are starting to make a much deserved comeback. But I noticed with a lot of these modern electric mowers, that they are cheaply constructed, many seem to be 90% plastic. I really wanted an old fashioned, mostly metal construction electric lawnmower. After doing some research, I discovered this GreenWorks 18" 12 amp corded lawnmower. I've used it a number of times and I'm very pleased with its performance. It weighs about 50 pounds and has a nice, solid feel to it. I would suggest that if you order one of these, that you carefully remove it from the box and check all aspects of the machine to make sure there is no damage and that everything is working properly. I like the fact that this mower has seven height settings to cut grass. That's right - seven settings. The lowest setting cuts grass at 1 5/8" and the highest at 3 1/8". Be sure to use an extension cord that has the right amps. Anything lower than 12 amps can damage the mower. If possible, you might want to buy an orange or other brightly colored extension cord since these, at least for me, seem to be easier to see while cutting grass. Overall, the mower is pretty quite, much quieter than most gas mowers. And I would suggest cleaning the mower after each use, but make sure the mower is unplugged for safety's sake. Also, the handle folds forward from the middle which helps make the mower more compact and easier for storage. I'm hoping to get a lot of grass cutting seasons out of this little green electric lawnmower. ... show more
