I live on 80 acres. About 1 mile on the property is gravel driveway that previously had not been getting blown. Debris had broken down into dirt over the gravel. The unit is light and easy to put on. Blowing power is good enough that I can push the turbo and blast leaves that are semi-caked in mud out-of the road. After a handful of dry days I can even blow dirt right off of the gravel. The 2.5AH battery doesn't last as long as I need. That said I didn't expect it to. The charger gets me back out there blowing in about 30ish minutes (I haven't timed it but it's not long anyway) which gets me about 15 minutes of blowing (roughly). The release button is quite stiff when removing the battery. That said it's a solid little unit. I keep chipping away at my property. I previously had an EGO hand held blower and loved it but it was stolen and I didn't want to pay $800 for the backpack upgrade. It’s time to replace all my gas equipment for a variety of reasons. But mainly for the environment. After several Greenworks products I’m sold. Everything just works, no struggling to start gas engines. No trade off in power, they perform as well as my gas equipment. The Pro 80v blower replaced my brand name professional backpack blower. I did not expect to be surprised by the power. Is it as powerful? Not quite BUT more than ample. The weight is so much lighter. It does not bother me at all. This is such a pleasure to use, as is every Greenworks tool. So much lighter and easier to use I wish the battery lasted longer but I understand that much power comes with a price. ... show more

Some reviews said the battery was hard to extract. I have not had this experience. I push the release button and the battery springs up from the housing. The 80V 5Ah battery is big and heavy, but thankfully it is carried in the backpack. My only complaint is that the rubber hose kept separating from the nozzle. There was no clamp provided, so I bought and installed a 5” drier hose clamp. It seemed ridiculous having to do that since I can see hose clamps in some of the pictures. [One star off for that!] I was concerned about the estimated 15-minute minimum run time, but the new blower was so much more efficient than my old blower that I was able to complete the job much faster. I still had 2 of 3 bars on the charge indicator! ... show more

This blower is amazing, it actually makes blowing leaves fun! The power is enough to scrape wet leaves off the pavement, and the noise level, while not particular quiet, is way better than gas blowers of similar power. While it's not light, having the weight of the blower on your back greatly reduces fatigue and makes it so even the kids can use it with ease. Battery life is about 15 minutes per battery, so it's good for our small house. If we had a bigger area, we would need more batteries - on the plus side the battery charges pretty fast. ... show more

    • Doesn't work as advertised

Misleading advertising, poor customer service and a track record of products that don’t come close to lasting as long in run time or life as their gas powered alternatives. The: “About this item” states “Up to 18 minutes of continued run time on high speed with a fully charged 80V 2.5Ab battery”. I didn’t get nearly the 18 minutes of run time I specifically ordered this item for, but I did get 18 ++++ minutes of on hold time attempting to reach customer service. Upon doing so and providing all purchasing information I asked why I was getting 8 minutes of run time as opposed to the 18 advertised. They replied their product description states “up to 18 minutes”, not 18 minutes. I replied 8 minutes of run time doesn’t qualify for a representation of “up to 18 minutes”. After being placed on hold I was subsequently told the actual run time was closer to 8 minutes if turbo mode is used. Turbo is higher velocity than high velocity. It’s needed, used, and cuts the advertised run time to 8 minutes. As if that isn’t bad enough, the actual run time without using turbo is a measly 11 minutes, not 18. This begs the question: is advertising up to 18 minutes when you get 11 false advertising? Under what actual conditions would 18 minutes be achieved……..zero gravity? For days I attempted to speak to someone at Greenworks remaining on hold numerous times until hanging up over excessive wait times. They lack a call back option and if they do post an email address on their website you would have to be Sherlock Holmes to find it. I was told they do sell a 120 Wh battery that provides 233% more power. When I asked how long would the turbo run time be with this battery upgrade I was told “I don’t have that information”. I explained I had just purchased two complete units based on the advertised run time and ordered two several years ago. The blowers and their batteries didn’t last. I asked given the shorter than advertised run time, and the fact that I purchased again despite past issues and the days I spent trying to reach them, could they can do anything for me on the better battery? The reply was a firm “NO”. After posing the question an alternative way I was again told NO. Based upon my experiences, I can’t recommend this company or its products. I find that unfortunate given their selection and electric powered products. Ironically I had been hyping battery power to a landscaper prior to receiving my new Greenworks blowers and was considering asking the town’s mayor to outlaw gas powered lawn mowers, trimmers, blowers and weed whackers. Instead I’m posting this review and deciding whether to return the blowers I just purchased. ... show more
