I have not had to cut a lawn since the early 1980's. Now in the midst of labor shortages and rising prices for lawn services, I decided to try cutting it myself. This mower was/is a good choice. Our previous lawn service had empty shelves from all the awards they were not winning, so last year we bought the Green Works 40 V blower and trimmer for light clean up duty AFTER the lawn crew was done each week. We liked both of them. So this year we decided to ditch the crew and bought the 80 V Pro self propelled mower. It has so far been a great product. 1. SO much quieter than a gasoline mower. 2. No exhaust fumes 3. No hot engine and muffler to burn yourself on. 4. No pull start 5. Can be stored vertically; no fluids to spill. There are 'feet' built in to hold it upright if you like. 6. No need to cart gas home in a jerry can. 7. It is really quiet. I know I said that before but I thought you may have not heard it. 8. It is lightweight. Most of the time I don't use the self propelled feature. 9. You can use the self propulsion without having to run the blades. Handy if you are moving it a ways. 10. Battery life is good. I did buy an extra battery figuring I would need it, but I could have gotten by without it. My lot is about 1/3 acre. 11. It does not use a lot of electricity. I do not run the batteries down to empty. From about 20-33% charge, it takes about an hour to charge. I threw a meter on the charger; it starts out at about 350 watts and was more like 100 as it was finishing. 12. Wheel height adjustment is a snap. Literally. A spring-loaded lever snaps into 7 different settings. While the self propelled feature is handy, it is a bit quirky as it takes a few seconds for that motor to come up to speed. Whereas a self propelled gas mower is powered by the engine already running so it starts at speed. This is just one of those things you get used to. Not a show stopper. Once that motor is cranking, it has plenty of power and (adjustable) speed, it just takes a second that you may not be accustomed to. The quality of the cut is fine. The 80V motor has all the oomph you need to get through wet or tall grass. While lightweight and easy to manage, it is still heavy enough to leave tire tracks to line up your rows. The bagger works fine, but I usually use the mulching mode. I would buy this again and tell my friends to do the same. The competition is hot in this area, and I only own this one, so maybe there could be something yet better on the market, but this one seems to tick all the boxes and not only am I happy, my Greek chorus of nosey neighbors all seem to like it to.

This is my second electric push mower and a MUCH better experience! I struggled with the decision to get a 21" or 25" but I have a very small yard so the 21" won. I LOVE this mower! My previous one really felt underpowered and eventually I moved back to a gas powered mower. After recommendation from a neighbor that has a Greenworks push mower, I decided to try it again. This one feels very powerful, even through my tall, thick St. Augustine Pro Vista lawn. The weight of the mower is perfect! It's heavy enough not to be managed by the grass, yet light enough to maneuver easily. The metal deck makes it feel like much better quality than my last one which was plastic. The cut is VERY clean and even, the yard looks great! My biggest concern was the mowing speed. After reading some reviews, I was worried it might not go slow enough for me. As I mentioned, I have a very small yard and I want to mow it slowly. I read that it goes too fast so before starting, I slid the control all the way down to the slowest "turtle" setting. That was TOO slow. I can't imagine anyone needing to go any slower than that but whatever... Just playing around with it, I also moved the speed to fast. Wow, if you have thinner grass, that would really get the job done quickly! I love how safe and quiet it is too. Plus no more having to worry about the gas and the yearly oil, plug and filters changing.

I tried the first generation of electric mowers about 10-15 years ago and was unimpressed, went back to gas. Now I don't think I will ever go back to gas mowers as they have broken the code. GOOD: 1. Self propel. Its nice to have a potentiameter for speed. Rabbit takes off like a rabbit! At times it truly is just like walking behind the mower as it has enough power and grip even on wet grass. You can engage self propel without the blade spinning...nice to get to different parts of the yard 2. Cut. I saw no difference in the cutting power between this and gas. The auto blade acceleration over thick grass is actually pretty nifty. 3. Storage. The ability to store upright (no gas or oil to leak out) is a feature I didn't consider but really appreciate now that I have the unit. BAD: 1. Battery life. This is really the only downside I see. I have to break up my mowing into 2-3 sessions as the battery gives out pretty quickly...maybe 20 minutes. The charger does charge rapidly so mowing can be done in one day...just broken up into 2-3 sessions. Not a big deal for me as I can do other yard things and then get back to cutting the grass. OVERALL I am a believer. I hate the crappy carbs they use on the gas powered, small 4 strokes. Have to replace them if you forget to drain the gas at the end of the season. I still use my gas powered string mower on some of the rockier areas, but I needed it for my gas powered too.
