Hitting my mid-30s, I became a bit of a curmudgeon when it came to yard work. I grew tired of all the noisy, unreliable, gas-powered equipment that constantly broke down. I decided to go full Luddite, swapping out my old tools for quieter, more reliable options like a 21-inch push-reel mower, a grass whip, and a long-handle scythe. These tools work great for most of my yard (though they certainly take a lot more time and effort!), which is just shy of 2 acres, but there are always those tricky spots near the vinyl siding or in tight corners that demand something more precise. That’s where the Greenworks 80V weed whacker comes in. It’s whisper quiet—quieter than my wife’s 20V and 40V weed whackers that are about 6 years old, and even quieter than my push-reel mower, which is absolutely insane that they managed to make the power tool that quiet! The battery lasts a solid 20-25 minutes of continuous (trigger down the entire time on the boost setting) use, even on thick, lush shade grass, and the same battery can power the blower afterward. Cleaning is easy, though there's a bit of a tricky spot where the guard connects to the shaft that gets grass debris wedged in there (yes I clean my tools after use, it's how you get them to last). The weed whacker is lightweight, easy to handle, and the auto-feed works well. I also use the battery-powered mower, which is well thought out and plenty powerful for typical suburban yard work (my yard is definitely not suburban and is too big for a battery mower). The grass clippings bag is easy to use and well-constructed, making clean-up simple. However, the mower is surprisingly loud—certainly not as loud as a gas mower, but louder than I expected after running the whisper-quiet weed whacker. The leaf blower, on the other hand, is surprisingly loud for a battery-powered tool and underpowered for the amount of noise it makes. It’s decent for light tasks but doesn’t quite meet my expectations in terms of power. The whacker works ok for dry grass but can't really blow other weeds around much, so it usually sits in favor of the rake or my 120v plug in blower. That said, having two batteries to swap between the weed whacker, mower, and blower is incredibly convenient, reducing downtime between tasks. Despite the blower's shortcomings, the reliability and quiet performance of the weed whacker and mower have made yard work something I actually enjoy. It’s good exercise, and the peaceful operation of these tools has turned a once-dreaded chore into a much more pleasant experience.

Box didn’t make it intact but all of the pieces are there and works as needed. With the 2 batteries we are able to swap batteries when they run low and they charge in the same amount of time the mower can run. Trimmer is a bit bigger than we expected but does the job. Overall very satisfied with purchase. Mower stands up nicely when not in use to save space.

The media could not be loaded. I’ve been using greenworks for almost 10 years! Decided to finally splurge. Rating not 5 because the packaging was a bit banged up. And it it affect the product inside. Also the handle was soooo flimsy that it came apart in during unpacking. I had to take it off and use a mallet on wood to bend it out a bit see the photo. Now after bending outward the handle is on there nice and solid! I hope yours did not ship like so. Also I put a circle alone the week point, you have to be a bit careful or you can rally bend this up. I will update after some serious lawn work. Battery seems to charge fast unlike 40v. The charger has an internal fan and it is loud! Speaking of noise the mower is also a bit noisy, nosier than I thought but def not as loud as petrol engine mower.

The one thing that was holding me back from buying electric is the reason why I don’t like this mower. The batteries do not last very long. They make it for about 12 to 15 minutes then you have to swap it out and recharge the other one and hope it charges quickly. The picture shows in my backyard how quickly the battery died.

One of the Best Buy’s I’ve ever made on Amazon. Got a great deal about a year ago on this for around $450. I love having an electric mower now because it doesn’t struggle like a gas powered mower when it starts to get clogged. The trimmer and blower are great as well. No complaints!

Was really worried based on conflicting reviews…. Product has been without a doubt beneficial and well worth the investment. Weed eater does an incredible job even in the thick brush with the provided stock line. I worried about getting the self propelled for 2wice the price and got the regular push… it’s so light I don’t even miss the self propulsion models.
