Great saw

This is a bigger saw than i thought it would. Took me alittle while to get used to the weight. The saw itself is made out of hard plastic and actually quite light, but when you add the battery, it becomes substantially heavier. I am, however, a 72 year old women, so consider the source. I had to laugh, my brother thought I would need a spare battery, but this one lasts every bit as long as I do. I absolutely LOVE the ease of use. I've struggled with starting my gas chainsaws for years. Stuffing my foot in the handle to hold the saw down to pull the cord was always a challenge. On this, all I do is release the chain brake, hold down the button and pull the trigger. Button and trigger are easily reached with one hand. I am impressed with the power. Especially if you are a woman, get an electric saw! The chain oil lasts a seriously long time compared to gas chainsaws. There is no smoke to deal with and cleaning it is a breeze. My Husqvarnas always had a build up of chain oil and saw dust on the inside. With this, it's very minimal. Anyone want to buy a couple of Husqvarna 450s? Also good chainsaws, but it's battery operated tools for me from now on. ... show more

This chainsaw is defective! I went through two chains. The first one came off after about 10 minutes of use. Greenworks warranty department concluded that “the cover bolts must have been loose.” Not covered by warranty. Second chain, I made sure tension was correct and cover bolts tight. 15 minutes of use and the chain fell off again. Greenworks said cutting a branch of 2 inch diameter was too small and therefore caused the chain to fall off. Therefore, not covered by warranty. Greenworks arbitrarily finds no defect. By the way, each time the chain fell off it bent the chain, and the chain will not sit on the bar properly. Two brand new chains ruined. If a chainsaw cannot cut a limb of 2 inch diameter without ruining a chain, what good is it? Greenworks will not do anything to hlp identify the defect. They just ask questions and look for something like, “a 2 inch diameter limb is too small” for the chainsaw, and refuse to consider that the particular chainsaw is defective. It cost too much to challenge them in small claims court, so really you are at their mercy, and renders the warranty and the chainsaw useless. I have purchased many Greenworks products with no issues, however, after this experience with the claims department, I will never buy Greenworks products again. ... show more

Great saw, easy to use and handle,

Got this chainsaw today, I already have 4 other Greenworks tools so I had high hopes this would be good quality like my edger, trimmer, blower and lawn mower. I was not disappointed one bit. It performed as well as my gas operated saw. I cut down a dieing willow in about 10 minutes, This is a beast of a machine. I love it and plan on getting as many 60V tools from Greenworks as possible. ... show more

Good saw

This thing is way better than I thought it would be. I got it so I don’t have to fire up the gas saw to go trim a couple things from time to time. It’s like a hot knife through butter even through 10” round dense juniper trees. I am very impressed with it. I hope it’s durable and lasts a while because I have been using it way more than I thought I would. ... show more
