  • LOVE
Size: 15" Corded Trimmer
Why did you pick this product vs others?: I LOVE THIS THING!!!!!!!!! IT'S LITE WEIGHT AND TOPS THE TOPS OFF OF WEEDS IN A BIG HURRY. IT NEVER NEEDS OILING JUST STRING. THE STRING FEEDS THROUGH AUTOMATICALLY. THERE IS NO NEED FOR BUMPING TO FEED THE THREAD. IT IS DIFFICULT TO HAND THREAD THE SPOOL BUT YOU CAN BUY THE SPOOLS ON AMAZON. I AM NO GOOD AT EDGING NO MATTER WHAT PRODUCT I TRY. I SIMPLY CAN'T DRAW A STRAIGHT LINE ON THE EDGE OF THE LAWN. SO THAT IS MY FAULT NOT THE MACHINE'S. ... show more

  • The cored one is more reliable
Size: 15" Corded Trimmer
I always think the corded one is stronger than the cordless one. I have a small yard so it's good enough to work the space. I am very satisfied with this purchase.

  • String breaks often
Size: 24V 10" Trimmer(Tool Only)
I noticed the string releases alot of string and you have to slam it hard to release string. It also snaps easily

  • Get the job done
Size: 15" Corded Trimmer
Works well but I recommend you use your blower to blow out the dust and dirt after you use it and take a brush to get the mud out of the vents… Hold it upside down when you are brushing off the mud so it doesn’t fall down into the vents… as usual reloading the string with these things is always a bit of a trick ... show more

  • like most of us
Size: 15" Corded Trimmer
Buying this for the amps and edger, compelling...I thought that the more powerful motor, edging capabilities, and wider swath, set this apart from all the other conventional electric trimmers that I was researching. However, all the things that I encountered had proven to me that this was a very poorly designed and engineered trimmer. First of all, I want to make it abundantly clear that I very rarely write reviews, but I really wanted to let people know what I had found. I did my homework, like most of us, and saw a few things that could be a problem, but refused to heed these reviews. I really, really wanted this specific trimmer! Unfortunately, I spent as much or more time trying to manually feed line out or dismantling the spool when the line broke off into the spool it self, than trimming. The "line advance feature" took too long or became a moot point when the line broke off inside the spool. When I read the reviews, that people had to Jerry-rig the line dispenser to make it work, I over looked it. When people said that the balance was an issue, I didn't pay attention, either. (Even when positioning the handle all the way down the shaft, it was still bottom heavy.) Or, that the line would break off inside the spool, requiring dismantling. The line is very delicate, and highly prone to breakage. (It was suggested to use heavier line in some of the comments.) There were many times that the spool wouldn't dispense the line, because it was wrapped too tightly around the spool by the factory. Well, if the factory is unable to wrap the spool, so it will properly dispense, I can only hope that I can do a better job. The reason that I believe that it is wound so tightly is because it can't hold much line in the first place. People said that the edger was hard to use, because they didn't have line of sight and couldn't see around the housing, that it was in the way or that they had flying debris coming at them, when they tried to poke their heads around it. These were just a few things that I encountered. I found that the plant guard was in the way, if you were to trim tight edges, like around fences or walls. (Instead of being able to retract it, which should have been an option, I simply took it off!) Another problem was that the air vents that cool the motor kept clogging, and because I had the trimmer upside down so much that I could smell the motor beginning to heat up. (Every single one was clogged.) So, I had to clear all the vents three times in about a 45 minute period. The biggest problem was the trimmer line itself, and it could be attributed to old brittle line. If this is indeed the case, I could live with it. If I use thicker line, this may rectify the problem, providing that it can fit in the slots of the inner spool? I'm stuck with it now, but for the time being, it seems to be a costly mistake. I don't know why this had gotten so many positive reviews, but I do know that there are trolls that get paid to make these type of reviews. I was once solicited myself with a proposition that I could get a product for free, if I were to write a positive review. It does happen! Good luck, and I hope this helped someone! ... show more
