This saw lives at the border between a full heavy duty earn a living cutting wood type chain saw and super light duty I need trim a little branch twice a year chain saw. It has lots of power and battery for its class. Well balanced and demands little in the way of upper body strength to use it. The 24 volt batteries it uses ( 2x24 for 48 volts) offer a full half days work at about 150 cuts. Even better the greenworks 24 volt tool line is huge. Cuts about twice as fast as the dewalt 20v 12 inch saw and is about the same price. Its cheap enough to keep in your car for when your driving around and see some smoking wood you want to grab. I'm quite pleased with this saw within the obvious limitations of battery powered chain saws. Although other than the bar, chain, and whatever metallic parts there are in the drive system, it appears to be made entirely of plastic. I purchased this one mainly because it seems to be the only model with a two bolt fastening system to fix the bar to the saw rather than the all plastic bar tighteners on all the others I looked at. I thought I was getting a saw and battery with an additional battery to use when the first one ran down. However the saw will only operate with the two 24 volt batteries mounted together. I ordered another two batteries as back ups which raises the overall cost another $100. This is the first battery saw now added to my 5 saw stable and I'll be better able to evaluate it as I use it some more. The whole battery chain saw concept still needs more development and engineering improvements but this one seems to be a pretty realistic offering. Some of the advantages the saw has over my gasoline powered saws will be fully utilized and appreciated. While it cuts well with adequate power for about 20 minutes on the two batteries charged up full, the balance will take some getting used to. It will find its place along with my other saws in my routine of gathering winter firewood and tree maintenance; But the technology is not yet perfected and it won't replace the gas powered saws for some tasks. This little chainsaw has exceeded all my expectations. It's easy to use, well built, and I can get probably 50+ cuts of 6-12" trunks on a charge. I went with this saw because of the good battery life, and I've been pleased. I use it around the yard (2.5 acres) and it's been great for fallen or dead trees. I loved the lightweight of the unit. My only knock on the chainsaw was the battery lasted almost as long as I did cutting stuff up. Got about 2 solid hours before I had to recharge. But it is a lot better than a gas powered. And no sore shoulders.

This chainsaw is more powerful than most of your corded chainsaws. It cuts through my hardwood tree like butter. No issues at all...!! Just make sure you don't run out of bar and chain oil so your chainsaw blade doesn't get worn prematurely. Just remember it's battery powered and you have around 20 minutes of cutting time depending on the wood type you are cutting. This is my go to cordless chainsaw saw.. I hope this helps. I was pretty happy about how this chainsaw cuts, but unfortunately I realized that I received a defective item when it was too late to return it. The saw leaks oil from the bottom of the handle, no matter the way you store it.

    • Second time was not charm

I purchased the same saw couple of months ago and the chain jammed on me after about 30 minutes of use. I sent it back. Chalked it up to bad luck. Got another one. This one didn't last even 30 minutes with fully charged batteries. And mind you I am not doing any heavy cutting, I am trying to get rid of an old stump which is about 12 inches thick.
