I started buying greenworks about a year and a half ago. When they were not nearly as expensive as they are now. Tariffs are just about to start but these tools have doubled in price in the last year and a half. I bought my 16" chainsaw for the same price as this 10" chainsaw. If you can afford greenworks, it is decent for battery operation and batteries are interchangeable. I love that they are from Canada, which I have dealt with customer service on a few items, at greenworks, and they were helpful and pleasant. Only wanted to help. A lot of places accross seas only make excuses. I have the 16" and the 18" greenworks chainsaw. I also have a couple of 6" chainsaw. I wanted something that wouldn't be a burden to carry around on 40 acres. I absolutely love this little chainsaw. It does the job without worry of hurting yourself. 12" around trees-no problem. I added this to my collection of green works products. It cuts very well and battery life is good. It's light weight and perfect for small cutting jobs. Chain adjustment is easy, and it's low maintenance. The handle is very comfortable and it functions perfectly.

Got this because the lady wanted a lighter-weight chainsaw—something that won’t leave her needing a nap after pruning or storm cleanup. Spoiler: it’s way more manageable than those beastly gas chainsaws, which means less “where’s the nearest bench” and more “I got this.” It’s compact but packs enough punch to handle branches without sounding like a jet engine taking off. Perfect for storm cleanup, pruning, or pretending you’re a lumberjack without the lumberjack back pain. When I ordered this saw, I thought that it would just cut little limbs. Well, I got a big surprise. Like in the video within the saw description, I cut a tree down, but it was 12 inches around, it took some time, but it dropped that tree AND I did quite a bit of limbing before the battery had to be charged. The saw is exceptional, as is the battery life and the self-oiler works like a champ. I'm 75 and had many gas chainsaws and I'd put this one against most of them, performance wise. ... show more

Not designed for lefties. The safety lock is set up for people who are right-handed only. Instead of having a lock on both sides like some tools do. My other issue is it did not cut smooth. It was really jagged and it kind of jumped a bit. The cuts looked more like an axe hit it than a chainsaw. Kind of disappointed as I have other Greenworks products which are fine. I can operate it one handed in a pinch, it cuts well. The chain loosened pretty often, tightening it is quite easy. Still annoying. They say the battery is good for around 35 cuts, that feels accurate. Pretty quiet, no real need for hearing protection.

I have a larger, gas powered chainsaw for larger work, and a couple of heavy duty, hand-held pruning saws for limbs, etc. Had a bunch of huge Maple limbs blow down in a windstorm recently -- too small to fire up the gas saw, but too large and too many for the pruners. So I bought this guy and couldn't be happier! It quickly took care of all those downed branches with no problem. I also love that it is so easy to use -- no gas, no maintenance, just pop in the battery and go! And cleanup & storage are just as easy -- great product! ... show more
