    • Fantastic cooking performance and good non-stick coating - but buy a melamine sponge

I was hesitant to buy these at first given reviews here and from other pro cooking sites talking about how ceramic pans tend to start out non-stick but lose it over time. At first, I found the same was true - for the first few months, they were super non-stick - eggs practically flew around the pan. But slowly, things started sticking more - especially eggs. But then I did something amazing - I read the FAQ on the Web site. :-) And it has a simple tip - if things start sticking, use a simple melamine sponge, wipe it several times with hot water. IT WORKS. Using a simple, cheap melamine sponge about once every week or two, depending on what we've used the pan for that week, keeps it very non-stick. Otherwise, we just wash it with soap and water normally. GreenPan - include a melamine sponge with every pan AND put a note about this in the box! This is an amazing tip and will avoid the negative reviews some leave. Pros * Great cooking performance - good browning, good balance of heat sensitivity and performance * Easy clean up * Very non stick (don't forget the melamine sponge) - I found that I needed to use the melamine sponge more (e.g. once a week) when cooking at higher heats or with stickier foods and less (every 1-3 weeks) when just using it frequently for things like eggs * Look great * Grill pan is great - has now replaced our beloved Griddler for most things * Nice, sturdy, well-fitting lids * Good price for what you get - good looking, ceramic non-stick pans with good browning * Have been using the fry pan for 6 months and it's still non-stick and going strong * Great handles - comfy and oven-safe * Oven safe Cons * They don't recommend very high heat. Not too much of a con given how well this sautes and browns at medium-high heat * Somewhat sensitive to heat changes - this is a good or bad thing depending on what you're cooking. Sometimes I prefer a pan with a thicker bottom and slower reaction, other times something with faster reaction like these is great. * Doesn't include a melamine sponge or directions in the box to use it periodically - in just my experience, this is necessary to keep the pans and the cook happy. ... show more

These pans are works of art! They are substantial without being too heavy. The surface heats evenly, cleanup is so easy. We only wash by hand as per manufacturer's recommendation. The set comes with felt dividers to safely stack the pans and avoid damage to the non stick surface. We are 100% satisfied and don't think we will ever need to replace these pans. ... show more

It's been over a year now of almost daily/weekly cooking with these. They are fantastic. They heat up extremely quick and I have not had a problem with cleaning them at all. I once had some stuff get way over cooked and stuck, but using the supplied polishing pad (same exact thing as a "Magic Sponge") cleaned it up with minimal elbow grease. No need to let these "soak" in the sink to break stuff up. If you leave it on the stove dirty for a week, the stuff rinses right off and cleans up perfect with a soapy sponge. I read about people having issues with how it was packaged, but it seems the manufacture fixed the issue, as mine cam extremely well packaged and protected with numerous layers of extra cardboard and every item had it's own foam wrap. My only issue is I wish they made the lips of all the bowls and pans rimmed with a radius to prevent them from chipping so easily. The thin lips and squared edges promotes chips. If it was rimmed/thicker lips with a smooth radius they wouldn't chip as easily. Mind you, there's very few chips but they exist and I suspect over the years will get worse. ... show more

So far this cookware set is amazing! They heat evenly which makes cooking a breeze. The ceramic coating is super nice and extremely easy to clean. My only issue / concern so far is the ceramic coating is already starting to come off around the edges of the set (see photos) and im hoping it stops there. I would expect for the price of these theyd be a bit more durable. Pans have been hand washed and sepreated by provided pan protectors since day one. Ill be updating my review should things get worse. I am leaving my previous review so others can judge for themselves... Now, almost 3 months of use the "non-stick" "non-toxic" coating is losing its slick demeanor and food it becoming very difficult to wash off. Also after further research it appears this company hides behind a facade claiming to be non-toxic when in fact they include "silane and aluminum oxide. Silane is a colorless, flammable gas that is toxic to breathe in and known for irritating the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes. At the same time, aluminum oxide exposure can lead to lung damage." On top of that they contian tetraethoxysilane which can cause respiratory and skin irritation, methyltrimethoxysilane which can cause serious eye, skin, and respiratory irritation and potassium titanate that cnlan be harmful if inhaled and is considered a potential carcinogen. These facts came about during a class action lawsuit the makers of GreenPan faced that was ultimately dismissed. Unfortunately this has placed a sour taste in my mouth and i regret my purchase completely... I wish i would have done further research before spending an absurd about of money on a product that is falsely advertised as "healthy". ... show more
