This bike is exactly as advertised. Some really good components on a decent frame for a great price. I am a middle age man, with moderate, chronic physical conditions working on getting back in shape. Mountain biking was something I used to enjoy so I wanted an entry level bike to see how it works for me before investing serious money. Assembly really was not too bad with a little patience and some previous knowledge. Gears were perfectly adjusted and I did some minor tweaking to the brakes. I immediately replaced the seat. It was terribly hard. I bought one from Bikeroo and was extremely pleased. I will be purchasing new tires before very long. The included tires are fine, but I want more traction and durability. The forks, shocks, brakes, gears, and frame all seem fantastic for this price! I have put about 75 miles on the bike at this point. I recommend this if you are a beginner to get a feel for the sport prior to investing serious money or if you are a casual mountain biker.

Great bike! I'll start with more general info and then move into the details. I got the small 17 inch bike in yellow. Ordering was easy with no hassle. I live in New Mexico and the bike shipped from Dallas, so it took only 3 business days for it to arrive. It arrived in a large box, about 80% assembled. Assembly does not require a professional, but involves installing the front brake, front wheel, handlebars (just make sure they're tight), and the saddle. The tires come pretty low on air, and should be replaced, because they go flat within an hour of riding. Suspension: front suspension is great. Easily adjustable, great shock absorption when downhilling. Rear shock is a bit slow but is just fine on jumps. Brakes: mechanical disk brakes provide great stopping power, nice and quiet.

Edit: the extra j-shaped part is a sacrificial part that is meant to be destroyed in case of an accident to protect the rest of the bike, which is why they provided an extra one. Original review: The instructions that come with the bike are total garbage. It pretty much just tells you to take the bike to a shop, go slow, ask questions, use grease (I didn't), and use muscle (what?). There are no step by step instructions and no tools provided. I'm pretty handy and did eventually get it working well. Getting the handlebars, seat, front disk brakes, and front wheel "on" is pretty self explanatory, however pretty much nothing was lined up correctly (even stuff installed at the factory). If you don't have that front brake lined up perfectly, it sounds aweful when riding and it's pretty finicky about placement. I also had to adjust the back brake position. The derailleurs needed to be tuned (thanks internet) so that it would shift properly and quietly, but it's pretty quiet now. In the end, I still have an extra piece. It's a J-shaped piece of metal with some holes in it. There's already an identical piece like this installed on the back of the bike and it does not fit on the front. The bike seems to work fine without it, so maybe it's a random spare? It seems like a sturdy part that wouldn't likely ever break, so I'm not sure why a spare would be needed when they don't provide spares of anything else. Makes me worried something important is missing and the bike is going to fall apart on me, but it seems to work ok. (Edit: after some research, this part is called a derailleur hanger which is designed to be damaged in an accident to save other parts, hence the spare). Again, actual assembly instructions would be very helpful. A signature was required so USPS double-rang my doorbell and woke my toddler from his nap, which is annoying since this is a pretty cheap bike and I've had much more expensive things delivered with no signature required. I think my least favorite thing about the bike is that I don't see how you could ever attach a kick stand to it with the way the back is designed. So I'll have to lay it down or lean it against something. Overall, this seems like a good bike for the money. Putting it together was a pain, and honestly if I could rewind time, I would just spend a little more and go to a bike shop or even a sporting goods store to get a bike that's already put together and tuned properly. My 2 year-old kid was going nuts while I was putting it together and couldn't wait to go for a ride with dad, and kept trying to "help," which was cute, but...not actually helpful. I'd rather just have pulled a new bike out of my trunk, thrown his seat and handle bar attachments on and taken him for a ride. If you're on a budget, though, and don't mind tinkering and watching a YouTube video to compensate for the lack of provided instructions, and don't want a kick stand, this is a decent purchase.

Its a great bike that looks awesome and handles rough terrain like a champ. Putting it together was easy, and keep in mind that you may need to do some adjusting on the breaks as they may need it if the disk is touching the caliper.

Excellent entry level mountain bike. I am an experienced mountain biker coming back from a 5 year layoff due to injury. Gave away all my bikes so I needed something inexpensive to see if I was going to be able to ride again sustainably. This bike has all the components of a bike costing thousands more - it’s just 10 to 15 lbs heavier because it doesn’t utilize state of the art materials such as carbon fiber, titanium or high strength aluminum. Great disk brakes and 24 speed shift set and good full suspension ride. Comes well packaged for shipping and is very easy to complete final assembly for the average do-it-yourself person. Excellent choice for any biker on a budget.
