I bought these to help with getting in and out of the shower after hip replacement surgery. They are very strong and sturdy however you do have to remove and reattach maybe once a week to make sure they are secure. But that hasn’t been a big deal for me.

My wife and I recently moved into a new built townhouse. Almost all of the doors made loud popping and knocking sounds when opening, much louder than a squeak. Graphite was used by the builder to satisfy the problem, but that did not last long. I tried cleaning the hinges and oiling the hinges with mineral oil, which was recommended by a friend; that did not work at all. I found Upkeep Door Hinge Oil on Amazon and immediately bought it. This stuff is a miracle worker. It is a high quality light machine oil in a great applicator bottle. I oiled ten doors in our home and all of them are absolutely quiet now and easily swing open. I do not know how long the oil will last, but I have plenty in this little bottle to keep my hinges oiled and quiet for a long time. I highly recommend Upkeep Door Hinge Oil. I have used these suction grab bars for several years. I first got them for my children's baths for when I visit. I have moved to a new house and got them for both baths. They are great to steady myself while entering, using and exiting the shower. I check the safety indicators every time because they do loose suction over several weeks, but that is to be expected with a suction device. If I was seriously at risk for a fall, then I would have to consider a bolt in grab bar. There are no cheap shortcuts for real personal safety.     • Decent choice compared to the alternatives
I had a squeaking door that was driving me nuts. I had seen videos online where you have to remove and fully clean the hinge pins in order to stop the squeaking, but the last owner had painted over my door hinges so I wasn't sure how hard they would be to remove. I tried other oils to try and avoid having to remove the hinge pins. They might work for a few days but the squeak would eventually come back since I don't think the oils were completely making their way into the cracks and crevices of the hinges. I didn't really want to use other lubricant sprays since I'm sensitive to smells and most of them have odors. They also seemed a bit messy to apply. I bought this since I liked the thin applicator to get into all the cracks and it was advertised as being odor-free and easy to apply. It just came in a plastic baggie. It was easy to apply and odor-free as advertised. It didn't leave a big mess. You basically just direct the applicator where you want the oil to go and the applicator lets you apply a few drops or a thin layer. It did get rid of the worst squeaking. The door still creaks, but it's very minor in comparison to before I applied the oil. Hope it holds out. It seems a little pricey for the amount you get, but you don't need very much at all and the thin applicator minimizes wasting any product from application. I hope it holds up. It seems like a good alternative to removing the hinge pins or having to use a silicone spray. ... show more

    • It does exactly what it's supposed to, and it does it well.
This stuff is awesome. I didn't know what to use aside from WD40 and the reviews seemed pretty good for this. It was way smaller than I expected but it doesn't matter because a little goes a LONG way. The doors are silent and move so freely that we have to be careful going in and out of the nursery or the gentlest nudge will move the door and make it sound like I slammed it. Very impressive and if/when I run out, I will absolutely buy it again. ... show more
