  • Works great!
We hatched out our first batch of chicken eggs. Got 8 out of 12. There were 10 that candles and showed something and then 2 that just didn't make it at the end and hatch all the way. Product worked great and was very easy to use! Would definitely recommend.

  • This is an awful incubator
Size: 24 Eggs Color: Gray
So I’ve been hatching eggs for a while so this is not my first rodeo. This incubator is too fiddly too persnickety and after one day ONE DAY I have had to rest to factory 5 times. Seriously. The lid doesn’t sit flush if there’s eggs inside. We all tried and we are not all so useless that we can’t set a lit. Cmon. There is a button for a candler yet no where to candle. Cmon man. I am returning this for sure. Whatever you do, do not buy this. There are so many others with comparable price points. Go there. Try somewhere else. Oh and customer service is lacking too. I have contacted them a number of times with no result. I’m generally not a whiner but this is so frustrating and I’m trying to juggle keeping this batch of eggs alive while I swap out to a new incubator. I am so disappointed with this product. ... show more

  • It’s not great.
Size: 24 Eggs Color: Gray
The instructions aren’t detailed enough. There is a random candle light button but no light, settings are hard to figure out and set. I currently have it set at 103° to try reach 99.5° inside, it won’t allow me to go higher. It’s setting inside the original styrofoam and covered, temp is only 97.1°. I have cheaper incubators that work far better. I wouldn’t recommend or purchase again. ... show more

  • Perfect for those raising chicks at home on a small scale
If you have your own chicks in your backyard or on a small farm this is a great lil gizmo! With auto egg-turning (something I didn't know was an option in these smaller devices), auto water refill, and auto temperature control, this incubator practically does all the work for you. No more worrying about manually turning those eggs or monitoring the temperature every few hours. It's like having a dedicated chicken mama taking care of business! The LED egg-lighting feature is a cool and useful plus! Trust me, watching those little chicks slowly come to life under the soft glow of the LED lights is pure magic (kids love it). Best features - Whether you're into chickens, geese, pigeons, quails, or ducks, this incubator can handle it all. It's like a five-star hotel for eggs! ... show more

  • Needs improvement
Bought this to hatch peeps since I have a hen that likes to eat the eggs! It is small. Portable and easy to use/ set up…. However I didn’t like that the water hookup leaked and also seems to run out very quickly, does not come with a bottle for hook up either so resorted to a plastic water bottle

  • An in-depth review of GPENG 12 egg incubator
The media could not be loaded. I was skeptical about this incubator due to there not being many reviews and the only ones being a 3.5 star rating overall. For those in my shoes, here is my honest opinion and experience with my first hatch with this incubator. I started with the maximum 12 chicken eggs, all from my hens. I let them get room temperature while I set up the incubator. Setup was easier than easy. After a few hours, I carefully set them in the incubator with the wide ends towards the outside. Set the incubator to 100°, filled the water bottle with warmish water: it sucked the full bottle dry on the first go around so we refilled it and left it alone for about a week, refilling as needed. I came back at day 7 to candle the eggs. Unfortunately, because we were hatching in the winter and our chickens didn't really get out of the coop most days, only 6/12 were actually fertile. We spread the 6 out evenly in the incubator and left it alone again. Day 19 rolled around and we recandled every egg, they were all fully developed and ready to hatch. We took out the turner attachment (it can be just picked up) and put the eggs back in. Here, we should have laid paper towels or a shelf liner in the bottom for grip on the eggs and for the chicks when they hatched. We didn't, it slipped our minds but it didn't affect the hatch at all. It just made it easy for the hatchlings to roll the eggs and hard for us to see progress or take good pictures. That night, one egg pipped and when we went to check it the next morning, another pipped. Around 2 pm that day, both were out and super slimy and uncoordinated (I think they're cute this way, my family does not). After that, a third had hatched at 10-11pm. All three were dry by the next morning, and two more were pipped. One came out around 10 am and the other around 5pm. All five were healthy and running around, but one still didn't hatch. We waited another day before taking it out and getting rid of it. 5/12 hatched and survived and are in the brooder box now. If we hadn't picked out so many infertile eggs we may have gotten double the hatch. I had a few problems and concerns with the humidity levels. If you want to read the humidity and make sure its not too high or low, buy a hygrometer. This does not come with a candler so you'll have to find your own. My phone flashlight worked fine, but I'm buying a bright flashlight for the next hatch. The chicks were kind of crammed in there during hatch, and I think if we had a 100% hatch rate, the space would be terrible. Overall, I really liked this incubator. The temperature was accurate and the humidity didn't kill the chicks. We're going to do a more in depth experiment with it involving a hygrometer and eggs from other flocks as well, and this review may change over time. For now, though, this really is a great incubator for the price. Update: We bought a hygrometer. It reads around 75% humidity most of the time for the last week or so. We're gonna let most of the humidity leave since it needs to be half of what is. On a bright note, all 12 eggs we put inside are fertile and we're on day 7. I may or may not post another update with the hatch results. But yes, this incubator does make the internal humidity too high and needs monitoring. If you have a few spare dollars, I'd recommend getting one. Don't want your chicks to drown on hatch day. Final update: Our second hatch, all eggs were fertile. On lockdown, 10/12 eggs were fully developed. All eggs hatched except two, which we left in for an extra day. I guess those two died in the egg. A hatch rate of 8/12 isn't bad for a cheap incubator, and I would definitely recommend this incubator if you're on a budget. ... show more

  • Amazing
I have so far hatched chicks and ducks. 100 percent success rate. Only have to add water twice during incubation process.
