My freezer's ice maker has been broken for at least 6yrs and my home warranty company decided that they would no longer fix it, so we have had to buy ice. I recently bought a whole bunch of ice trays but all of the freezing and twisting makes them break - also with my arthritis, it's difficult some days to twist the ice trays. Ice is a simple convenience/luxury that we take for granted. When Prime Day rolled around, I decided to splurge and finally buy a countertop ice maker. The GoveeLife Smart Ice Maker was affordable and the fact that its a smart appliance made it PERFECT!! I have only had it for running for 2 days but I could not be happier. I love that I can turn it on from my phone, start a cycle and get a notification when the ice bin is full. Set up was sooo simple - all you do is plug it in, fill the tank with water, press start, select the ice cube size and BAM!! The app was easy to get set up as well and the ice maker connected almost immediately (which is quite rare - and I have a lot of smart things in my home). I have yet to try setting up a schedule but with how easy everything else has been, I'm sure it will be just as easy. I LOVE IT AND HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

I love Govee products so as soon as I saw they had a new ice maker product I decided to upgrade from my prior no name ice maker. This lives in my Man Cave and I spend a lot of time driving for Door Dash and UberEats. It's great to be able to turn on the ice maker from the road via the app and monitor ice production. We had a heatwave in California the last few weeks and having ice pre-made for my arrival home made my life that much sweeter. Another win for Govee.

More than I expected! Less than 1 hour, the basket is full of ice. Less than 1 day, more than 252 large cubic ice were made. used only 3/4 gallon of water. Monitoring and notice are easy to get in the app even I'm not in the kitchen. LED light is visible from far away of ice maker.

Can’t connect to wifi

One aspect I love regarding being able to make my own ice cubes is I can use bottled water (or the water with minerals/etc in it) instead of using tap water (yuck!). I decided to be creative and attempt to make ice cubes from lemonade (home made of course) instead of using just bottled water. Well, it worked and we had lemonade ice cubes for our beverages during the last party we hosted! After a few adventurous tries we included other mixed beverages to make ice cubes, and let’s just say the party was an even bigger success. I wanted to try this ice cube maker as I have a friend who has one, and I will say this ice cube creator was quite fast in churning out the cubes. Although I personally did not see a huge difference between sizes in the overall cubes (I was expecting the ‘small’ cubes to be tiny but they were almost the same size as the medium and large cubes). Aside from that minor snafu, this cube maker is definitely going to be included in all of our upcoming events, especially since it is self cleaning, which means one less chore for me to do! Another positive aspect of having this is we literally don’t run out of ice like we have in the past when using the ice from our fridge. My husband would typically purchase several bags of ice, some of which we did not use and of course when it is hot the ice cubes will melt too fast and then we have a cooler or bowl filled with water where the canned beverages are floating around. Of course the kids love the ice makers as they can make ice to their little hearts are content, and again, we can get creative by adding some sparkling water to the mix, and we have flavored ice cubes. Another ‘fun fact’ with this cube maker is we can set it to make ice cubes for a specific amount of time, so unlike some other cube makers, which will stop once the water runs out, we can keep this baby going as long as the party lasts (and of course we keep it well stocked with the liquid of our choice), so we never have to worry about running out of flavored cubes! Also our kids (and my husband) love that this has the ability to use voice commands via Alexis. Needless to say this is an absolute total winner and a definite necessity for parties and large functions. Now if only I can figure out how to convince my kids to clean their room more often ….
