I have numerous Govee light products and love them all so when I saw this energy monitoring smart plug I decided to give it a try. Right out of the box, it was apparent that the size was a little different than some of the other smart plugs I have. It definitely is about 60 mm smaller in length than most and almost a full centimeter MORE in the depth than other plugs. These dimensions should be considered if you need to put this in a tight spot. I do love that they have placed the power led indicator light so that it wraps around a corner and can be seen from at least a couple of different angles. Brilliant! Setup was about as easy as it gets if you already have the Govee app - literally I plugged in the Smart Plug Pro and then brought up the app, hit the plus sign in the upper right-hand corner and was almost done. Easy! I had a heat gun handy that is rated at 1450W and used that to get a real-time assessment of the power consumption by viewing the app. I was amazed at how much lower the energy usage was on the lower heat setting (113W) vs the higher heat setting (1204W) and it has the ability to give you usage by day, week, month, year, as well as Runtime in those same increments. My only disappointment was the lack of any ability to put in the cost of a your energy by kWh and get the cost by day, week, month, year. That would have been nice and I do have one other smart energy tracking plug that allows me to specify my cost per kWh. But all the data is displayed intelligently and it also allows for export of the data and also allows you to clear the data (a very important feature). All of my Govee products are the ones by which I judge all others and this plug will be the same. Great products, great features, great company.

Govee makes great stuff. My phone found and connected to the outlet with ease. Probably took me 1-2 minutes to get it connected to my phone and wifi. The watt meter seems to be pretty accurate. I compared it with my rosewell watt meter. (pictures) The app provides many different useful features: on/off scheduling - time of day and day of week on/off schedules On Timer - set amount of time (minutes and hours) until outlet turns on Off Timer - set amount of time (minutes and hours) until outlet turns off safety lock - disables the button on the side to prevent kids/animal/furniture accidental pressing This can be voice controlled via alexa or google assistant. One last feature I did not realize until playing around with the app. If you have a govee device that is bluetooth only you can use this smart plug as a "gateway" to connect them to the internet. Essentially this smart plug will bluetooth connect to your bluetooth only govee device and then send that data through wifi and allow you to see your govee devices on your phone when away from home. Not sure if it works with any govee bluetooth device but it worked with my Govee H5075 hygrometer.

The setup for this Govee Smart Plug is about par for the course. It requires downloading the Govee Home app, signing up with your email address and a password, plugging the smart plug into an outlet, waiting for the Govee app to recognize the device, and hitting "add." Despite the setup being similar to other smart plugs, I'm really impressed with the amount of extra functionality this plug has. Along with simply turning on and off power to the device, or simply telling you how much power is running through the plug (which is already more than most other plugs), it will show you a graph of your energy usage over time up to one year in the past. You can also schedule the plug to turn on and off at specific times and also choose to monitor the plug only during specific times Lots of smart devices have what I consider to be an annoying blue indicator light. This smart plug is one of them. However, this is one of the very few devices I've run across that will also let you turn off that indicator! Very much appreciated functionality. Given that I have a young child, I also love that the plug has a "Safety Lock" mode in which pressing the physical button on the plug won't result in the light turning on and off (i.e. it makes it so the plug can only be turned on and off within the Govee Home app). Overall, I'm really happy with this smart plug. This smart plug is as smart as they come.

We have a few various smart plus we have gotten over the years. None have impressed me with the setup or functionality. Until I got this Govee smart plug. Packaging is simple and earth-friendly. A simple cardboard box that looks nice. Some small paper instructions inside the box, all too small for old eyes like mine to read without glasses on. One gripe, the QR code sends you to instructions on how to set up a WiFi network for 2.4, not the Govee app as you would expect. The app was easy to find when searching Govee. The set up went super easy, the plug was found instantly, and connected without drama. No switching to this and that and pressing a button for 32.8 milliseconds while some light blinks to Yankee Doodle or anything. Great process! Now for the part I love the most, the energy usage info. It is like having a Killawatt plus voltage and amps all together. It has been interesting to watch the plug and what energy is used. Love data and this has it! Have not set this up with Alexa yet, that isn’t a requirement for my planned usage. In love with how easy this set up went, and how much information it has about the power usage of what is plugged into it. Would I get it again? 100% yes! I’d encourage you to get some yourself!

I was able to pair the app without much difficulty, though I did have to make sure my phone was very close to the plug. The information provided is fairly accurate -- I tried some different power supplies for electronics and it was pretty close to the rated power for the power supplies. It was also very nice to realize how much vampire power my cheap induction charging cradle for my phone sucks up even when not in use!
