Buy them! East setup, no glitching pairing, functions without alexa

If you are doing Alexa do these. I have tried many other plugs and bulbs, including Amazon Basics and they so far have all been garbage except these. Here is why. I suffer frequent power outages which puts alexa in a tizzy, often resulting in having to repair everything. The Govee lights and plugs do not suffer this. With Govee there is no pairing, just plug in the plugs or light bulbs and the Govee app finds them without issue. And even if Alexa decides to go unresponsive for days on end, the Govee app still controls all of its devices without issue. If Govee ever developes a voice control Alexa will be gone from my home.

Best smart plug out there

I’ve been using the Govee Smart Plug for a few weeks now, and overall it’s been a reliable, easy-to-use addition to my smart home setup. Setup & Connectivity Right out of the box, setup was smooth. The plug connects to my 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network quickly, and the Govee app walks you through the process step-by-step. Once connected, it shows up in the app as well as in both Alexa and Google Assistant, so controlling it with voice commands works without any issues. Features & Performance The timer and scheduling features are particularly useful. I’ve set routines for my lamp and fan — lights turn on in the evening and the fan turns off automatically at night. The “group” feature allows multiple plugs to act together, which is handy if you want several devices to switch on/off simultaneously. The plug itself feels solid and doesn’t block the second outlet on my power strip, which is always appreciated. In daily use, the responsiveness is fast — commands from the app or voice assistant are executed almost instantly. Reliable and easy to set up

Love these little smart plugs. Used them to set up a light timer for my fish tank and it’s been working like a charm. You have to use the govee app but I’ve had no issues with that. I have some other govee devices so it’s great to have them all controlled from the same app.

WiFi Flaw But There’s a Work Around!

Ok so first, I have several Govee products, including the outdoor lights. It’s fun. So I was excited to get these for my 4 Xmas trees so I can come downstairs with them turned on and not have to walk around at night turning them all off. So as it states, these do not support 5G WiFi. But most routers have 2.4 and 5G. Like mine. The problem is these kept trying to auto connect to 5G and giving an error. It would then tell you to go to settings to manually pick a WiFi network, but that would give another error code. I was about to pack them up to send back when I discovered a work around. So when it automatically tried to connect to 5G, click on the WiFi name block and manually type your 2.4 network name. In most cases, you are just deleting the _5G extension. And BOOM - connected!!! Showed up instantly in my Govee app and repeat 3 more times. Excited to walk downstairs in the morning and see my trees already on!

These Govee Smart Plugs were so easy to set up; not only can I use the Govee app to turn lights on from anywhere, but they seamlessly connected with Alexa so I can voice command any or all lights as I walk in the door. This 4-pack is the best deal out there!

Ease of getting it operational

Got the 4-pack a week ago. Took a few minutes to go from zero to loading app and getting familiar with it, and connecting first plug (under ‘controllers’ in app menu). Added two more controllers today and it takes less than 2 minutes (probably closer to 1) to plug it in, pull up app, and have it online!! Soooo easy. All have their on schedules (under ‘timer’). Very happy so far … now what to control for the fourth one … ;->
