I’m on my second one of these jackets after misplacing the first. I wear mine year round in Alaska; the outer layer is perfect for hikes during the summer and I use the down layer for early summer and late fall camping. The shell is roomy enough to layer with a soft shell for more warmth. It holds up well to daily use and lots of washing. I purchased this for our trip to Alaska. I loved that i could wear it three ways 1 with all the layers, 2 Just the outer layer and 3 just the inner layer as its own jacket. Super comfy, kept me very comfortable with out being bulky. Removing the inner layer was easy so was putting it back in.     • So nice I bought it twice
Jacket arrived in new condition, on time, and with all the tags. Selected this jacket because it has an inner jacket that can be used alone for spring/fall. The outer shell is fantastic in the rain. Waterproof indeed! When worn together, I don't feel any breeze, chill, wind, or cold. Outstanding insulation. The hood covered my head completely so no hat needed or damp hair. I even bought the matching North Face ThermoBall boots in Boysenberry to match. Such a great color and not commonly seen. I get lots of compliments. During a recent trip, I wore the inner liner jacket alone and lost it in JFK airport. I cried. I was very upset because I bought this jacket as a gift to myself to celebrate my milestone 50th birthday. I grew quite attached to this jacket. I know I shouldn't covet material things but I LOVED my North Face. So...I'm buying it again! ... show more

I bought this coat to replace a Northface 3-in-1 parka hydra-vent from 2016 that I wore through the late fall to early spring. I appreciate the versatility with the 3-n-1 so I jumped on this one when it went on sale. I like this coat, but there are a couple of things I wish were better. I noticed right away that it not very warm although it does block the wind and works well in light rain. I live in the Northeast so I will need to either layer in 20 degrees and below, or look for a warmer option. I also wish it had an additional front “hidden” pocket and was a little longer like my last Northface. Overall, it fits well and makes a good transitional jacket in the early spring and late fall. For reference, I am 5’3” and about 160 pounds and ordered the XL so I can layer. ... show more

I could not love this jacket combo more! I have had my eye on this set for some time, watching North Face sales, only to realize I could order it on Amazon! It is so well made and such a cute fit. I own a similar set from the late 1990’s and this feels like an updated version. That set is still in great condition as well. I do think it runs slightly on the small side when looking at sizing.     • Runs small- not thick enough for skiing

I bought the teal color jacket in a size medium. It runs small as far as jackets go. For reference, I’m 5’6 and a size 8. It was tight around the hips when it was zipped and even tight around my back when I put my arms out in front of me. I was hoping it would work for a spring ski trip to New Mexico but the outer layer is way to thin- it even feels like it could rip if you skied through trees or something. I was really hoping it was going to be perfect because the color is gorgeous and hard to find in ski jackets! It would be great for a cooler weather hike- but not warm enough even for spring skiing in my opinion. Maybe if you were a sweater and a base layer under it. Just size up if you get it. ... show more

This style jacket is amazing! The woman’s fit is true to size! The comfort is great and it is NOT BULKY at all! They have come a long with comfort and fit since I was little and the technology for warmth is unmatched! Way to go North Face!

    • Perfect for year round weather
I love my new coat! I live in the Carolinas so I don’t need anything too warm but we do have rainy winters and springs. Been wearing this with the puffer zipped in for a few weeks and loving how I don’t need to worry about switching coats out based on their material or thickness. This one is the perfect universal coat! The hood is great for the rain and the outer shell is truly waterproof. We were at a bbq festival in the November cold rain for hours and I was warm and dry. Zippers are smooth. I went up a size for room for sweaters and other layers and it’s not bulky looking which is nice. I think for spring I’ll remove the puffer coat and use as a rain coat. ... show more
