I’m on my second one of these jackets after misplacing the first. I wear mine year round in Alaska; the outer layer is perfect for hikes during the summer and I use the down layer for early summer and late fall camping. The shell is roomy enough to layer with a soft shell for more warmth. It holds up well to daily use and lots of washing. I purchased this for our trip to Alaska. I loved that i could wear it three ways 1 with all the layers, 2 Just the outer layer and 3 just the inner layer as its own jacket. Super comfy, kept me very comfortable with out being bulky. Removing the inner layer was easy so was putting it back in. Jacket arrived in new condition, on time, and with all the tags. Selected this jacket because it has an inner jacket that can be used alone for spring/fall. The outer shell is fantastic in the rain. Waterproof indeed! When worn together, I don't feel any breeze, chill, wind, or cold. Outstanding insulation. The hood covered my head completely so no hat needed or damp hair. I even bought the matching North Face ThermoBall boots in Boysenberry to match. Such a great color and not commonly seen. I get lots of compliments. During a recent trip, I wore the inner liner jacket alone and lost it in JFK airport. I cried. I was very upset because I bought this jacket as a gift to myself to celebrate my milestone 50th birthday. I grew quite attached to this jacket. I know I shouldn't covet material things but I LOVED my North Face. So...I'm buying it again! ... show more

Had to give a 1 star when 0 was correct! This arrived and l tried it on immediately. Beautiful jacket, perfect fit, great color. Sealed bag, intact thick box, tags attached to jacket and intact. Was soon disappointed. Dark black stains on front and both cuffs of jacket and it wreaked of heavy perfume. Definitely had been worn and returned! Researched and found the exact jacket at an online ski shop for $100 less! amazon is becoming less reputable in my mind. Second time in past 2 weeks l’ve returned damaged items 😟 ... show more

    • Perfect for year round weather
I love my new coat! I live in the Carolinas so I don’t need anything too warm but we do have rainy winters and springs. Been wearing this with the puffer zipped in for a few weeks and loving how I don’t need to worry about switching coats out based on their material or thickness. This one is the perfect universal coat! The hood is great for the rain and the outer shell is truly waterproof. We were at a bbq festival in the November cold rain for hours and I was warm and dry. Zippers are smooth. I went up a size for room for sweaters and other layers and it’s not bulky looking which is nice. I think for spring I’ll remove the puffer coat and use as a rain coat. ... show more
