Great lampshade for smart-bulb mood lighting. This will never be a lampshade for true illumination as it’s obviously made for setting a mood. I do a lot of art and had a lamp in my garage that I needed to rewire. It is a heavy brass base that I purchased 30 years ago and this week decided I’d decoupage it and needed a shade. After looking at hundreds of shades I kept coming back to these and I’m thrilled with its look. The instructions say to put the shade together first (alludes to, not really clear) as there’s a Velcro strip to bring the edges together to create the drum shape. I could see this was not exactly the best way to get the drum to be tightly fit to the wire structure with clamps already set on the wire that makes assembly super easy. I rolled the shade evenly around the wire then starting from the middle of the Velcro strip working to the ends got it on the skeletal structure super tight and it laid flat all the way around like a sturdy drum shade should look. It took about 10 minutes to assemble and will definitely buy more of these. I like the shiny gold interior as it reflects a glow that’s flattering - the photos are taken in my art studio space so ignore the background as I took the photos for my own use to add to a portfolio. The lamp is fun and adds a splash of glam-rock god David Bowie that matches an antique mirror with a very similar theme. Arrived a day late but no big deal. Such a great price for exactly what I needed. 🌵

These lampshades are so nice. They updated the bedroom and made it feel kind of sexy. They were so easy to put together and are just stunning. When I received the box I thought where are the lampshades then realized you just basically snap them in place. Love them. If you’re thinking of buying them just do it, you won’t be sorry. I purchased these and was skeptical about putting them together but I absolutely love them. The light level is medium and gives off a perfect level for winding down from overhead lighting. Great transition to evening and very stylish. They look beautiful and part of the beauty is in the light reflection through the holes and off the gold interior. The quality is great and size is perfect. Big but not ginormous. Very stylish. I purchased another set after the first set arrived.

I think these shades work well on my bedside lamps. They output enough light for night time purposes. I can turn on my overhead light if I need more illumination. The quality of these shades is decent, but not stellar. One reason I chose black is you can see the hardware through the white shades (when I studied customer photos). If you are looking at the shades up close, you can tell where they clip into the frame on these too, but it is much less obvious. I had a loose thread I cut off one of my shades and you do have to hide the seams in the back. I think the price is higher than it should be for the nature of this do-it-yourself design, which takes a little effort to wrestle the frame into the clips. However, after weighing all my options, these shades seemed to meet my needs better than other listings (circumference, height, style, and price). I am overall pleased with the end result.
