Features

  • Two Operation Modesthere are two modes: All Metal - to let you search for all different types of metal with auto ground balance and high sensitivity; DISC - to discriminate what kind of metal is being detected.
  • Waterproof Search Coilthe search coil of our metal detector is waterproof, so it can be used when it is rainy, but we do not recommend underwater detections.
  • Earphone Jackthere is an earphone jack on our control panel. You can connect a pair of headphones (not supplied) to the detector so you can listen privately. Using earphones also saves battery power and makes it easier to identify subtle changes in the sounds you hear, for better detection results.
  • Adjustable Stemthe length of our metal detector is adjustable, it is between 33 inch to 43 inch. You can adjust the height to get comfortable holding.
  • Ideal for Primary detectionour metal detector is easy to use, which is perfect for primary detection. It is suitable for an amateur who just begin metal detection.

  • nice metal detector
I temporarily misplaced an important ring. I was gardening that day and I panicked that it was in my grass somewhere. I realized I needed a metal detector in my house. I had already misplaced several metal sprinkler heads of mine that flew off like a rocket that I need to find. So when I looked and saw this one and saw it also would tell me where gas lines were connected I thought, even more perfect, in case I plant a tree and go to dig a deep hole to place it in. I can check with the metal detector first to see where the gas lines are. I can also examine my rocks for metal content just out of curiosity. These are nice, ethical uses of a metal detector. I ended up locating my ring right before I got the detector. I was not disappointed. I already feel at ease having a metal detector and I look forward to finding my sprinkler heads, I no longer have to buy back up sprinkler heads. I also lost a bracelet briefly in my garden and DID NOT PANIC since I had my NIFTY metal detector. It did help me get near enough I saw it gleaming. I noticed the discrimination dial is best set a little below the halfway mark as you might start picking up metal too much in the rocks nearby. It seemed just under the halfway mark is great to locate a ring or other metal item you have misplaced in your yard. I can see nice activities for me and my spouse on a weekend if we want to hide a few metal objects in our yard and 'locate' them stress free rather than play horseshoes. It is something different and can also be a romantic way to present a spouse with jewelry you have bought for him or her. It seems to be a great wedding proposal idea. A guy can 'hide' the engagement ring. He asks the intended over to help him find something special he misplaced. (HE REALLY CAN"T EXACTLY REMEMBER QUITE WHERE IT IS SO HE IS NOT LYING.) He can also have placed a key somewhere and tell her he is looking for that and would she please help him. They buy two metal detectors. He has a special metal detector outfit on that looks super hero'ish. Then they look and he secretly guides her to find the box with the ring in it and a sweet note asking her to marry him. SOUNDS neat. I have been married a while but imagine it would have been neat to have been proposed to like that. Anyway, do not look for treasure with these, do not look to exploit, just do kindness. I recommend them to any homeowner. Also those with kids, a great activity to place metal 'toys' in the yard and ask them to find the toy. ... show more

  • Design flaws
After losing many small gardening tools in the mulch and compost piles I decided to turn to technology. Spent a good hour trying to assemble it and thinking about getting what you paid for, I finally put it together. Mine definitely was a returned one, because it had this stem lock joint in three separate pieces, though the instruction specifically warns you to not disassemble it. Most of complaints about this product focus on this area of the handle. The bigger threaded washer with tabs goes over the thicker part of the handle with its tabs fitting into the holes on the handle, the two smaller washers face one another with their smaller diameters. One will go over the thinner lower part of the stem, the other one you prop against the thicker part of the stem. It won't go in or over it. Cover it all with the lock nut. Hope the pictures will help. The design of this part is pathetic. Made of aluminum and thin plastic. The rest of it fits more or less, and the detectors seems to be working. So, two point off for the stem, but if you planning on finding more than a few gardening tools, I say get a better one. I didn't see the model number anywhere on it, and it comes without earphones. ... show more

  • This Metal detector works very good.
This is just the basic machine. No bling, and if you already have experience using ferrous and non ferrous functions on those more expensive units out there. Then this works as well as a mid range priced Garret.. Personally, I don't know how the Company can sell this metal detector for a half days wages??? It shipped right out, its easy to put the handle and parts together. Just get some 9 volt quality batteries and maybe some headphones and head to some old pick nick sites and find whats been lost. ... show more

  • Great product at a great price point
I don't know what people are expecting when buying one of the cheapest metal detectors on Amazon. This thing is great for the price. It does it's job, surprisingly well for what it costs. Of course it's somewhat cheaply built at this price point. But it works and holds up under normal use. Maybe if you don't try and chop the tree down that's in the way of your treasure with your cheap metal detector it won't break. Assembly is easy. It's about like assembling a shower curtain rod. Not sure why people are having so much trouble with the assembly either. ... show more

  • worth it just to clean the yard!
5 stars! within minutes we had it up and going. We were in the backyard and found 4 or 6 pieces of trash, old soda can bits that must have gotten into the ground from the people that owned our house before us and a 2 foot long metal pole that was horizontal... we have a 5 year old that wants to run barefoot in the backyard and having the means to get some of the dangers out of the ground is great! if it saves one gash on her foot then it's paid for itself! We also found a 1924 penny, which is kind of cool! ... show more

  • Inexpensive, but the controls are pretty difficult to calibrate and work
Inexpensive, but the controls are pretty difficult to calibrate and work. There is a dial labelled "Disc" which you are supposed to use to specify what type of metal or metals you want to include or exclude from your search. But it has no markings other than the one for "All metals". The accompanying instructions say where to turn it for what metal types, but that means you have to carry the instructions along with you. I'd think they could at least put some sort of markings on the dial. ... show more

  • Holes did not line up...
I received it early, however, when I opened the box and attempted to assemble the detector, none of the holes lined up properly. I had to drill holes to get it put together. It was a simple fix, but I think it should have been ready to assemble.
