I bought a less intrusive (ear) pet thermometer for my dogs, but it didn't work. I have 6 dogs right now and they all read at the same exact temperature (and it was well below normal). Ha! This one actually works!!! Yes, it is a little more intrusive than some of the other options out there, but it is less intrusive than some other ones also. I feel more confident that I am getting an accurate read with this one. And I REALLY like the the design of it... it makes sure you don't go too far in... even if your dog gets fidgety. You can't mess it up and more importantly, you won't hurt your pup! For someone who fosters dogs, this is one of the most important tools in my doggy first aid kit. I also appreciate the plastic case. It lists the normal temps for dogs and cats, in case you don't know, or you lose the booklet. It cost a little more than the others (that's the only reason I didn't give it a perfect score), but for peace of mind and accuracy, it's so worth it!

I have multiple pets. Well, one dog and 4 house cats cats plus an outdoor cat that decided my house has better food than the one he is supposed to live at next door LOL! Most of my cats and the dog are seniors so monitoring their health is important . I’m lucky to have a farm vet so the costs of there care is not too expensive, but he is semi retired now so I’ve been trying to find ways to save a few dollars on going to more expensive vets by having as much info as possible pre appointment time . I’ve been meaning to add a pet thermometer to my basic first aid and care kit for animals . This one is wonderful! It’s small! Easy to use , SAFE to use. Fairly non invasive ( as non invasive as a recital thermometer can get LOL! ) It is near instant read after inserting , perhaps 10 seconds or so. Of course my dog was looking at me like no way are you posting a video or photo of me getting my temperature taken rectally ! But I tried it on her and it worked fine . I didn’t try the cat yet. I do have one elder cat that does have some chronic health issues so I’m sure I’ll be using it on her one of these days . Excellent product , well packaged. easy to use , very nice to have on hand for any pet parent . I’m sure knowing a few basic facts when calling a vet for an appointment and to be able to say if one’s pet has a temperature …or not will help the staff to decide if a same day appointment is necessary . Very much recommend this product!

This handy small pet thermometer from Good Harbor Pet is perfect for checking my pups temperature! She has a terminal condition and I worry about her constantly with the changing medicine protocols she's been on for the last year. Now I can know for sure if she's running a temperature or just feeling a bit sluggish and warm because of the meds. This thermometer looks and functions as described by the listing, and came packaged in a small box with a handy instruction and usage manual. It has large numbers and the screen glows so it's easy to see, and it also changes from Fahrenheit to Celsius! Simply press and hold the power button until the screen with 3 dashes and the F shows up, then click the power button again to switch to Celsius! Very quick and easy! It also has memory and will show you the previous reading when powered on, and the battery can be changed when it runs out. The included case with normal/fever temperature ranges for a dog and cat adhered to the back make it easy to know if your pet is ok, even when traveling and away from home and the booklet. This will definitely be joining the other items in my pets emergency kit! I highly recommend this pet thermometer for anyone who has a pet, especially a sick or older one that needs checking up on more often! Knowing I can take my dogs temperature without hurting her insides is a huge relief for me, and the quick read time is a relief for her!

This is a great thermometer for people like me who are very nervous about the procedure of measuring my dog's temperature. The shape ensures that you don't insert the thermometer more than necessary, and the quick-read (10 seconds) feature means less insisting/persuading your dog stay still for an uncomfortable process. I read the instructions, which are short and clear. I used the thermometer, which my dog didn't LOVE, but she tolerated it long enough to get a reading. Her temperature tends to run a little low, so I had to head to the internet to verify it was still within normal range. The thermometer has the typical range listed on the side of the plastic case, which is great, but for someone exacting who has a slightly abnormal dog, that's not comforting. :) Still, I'm glad to have this great tool in my first aid kit for my dogs.

I’ve purchased SO many human thermometers over the past 7 yrs for my “kids” and fosters, and I finally have one made specifically for them! I’ve got 4 indoor free roaming bunnies, and they are delicate little creatures. Baby thermometers just didn’t work as well as this one. For one thing, the part that gets inserted is much shorter than a human thermometer. Now I don’t have to worry I’m causing damage or hurting them. The thermometer comes with a battery already installed, it has its own plastic case and the instructions include a chart with normal range temperature for dogs, cats, rabbits and platypus’ (who has a platypus as a pet?? Is that a thing??) I’ve tested it in my Boxer, and it works! So into the emergency pet backpack it goes, hoping we never have a need to use it. But if we do need it in an emergency, I am glad I have it!

I needed to get a thermometer for my goats since I didn't have one on hand and taking their temperature is crucial when trying to diagnose what might be wrong with them, especially with the babies. It works great. Not that taking a rectal temperature is fun, but this one is easy to hold and gives an accurate reading rather quickly, which makes it nicer for everyone. Overall, it does what you need it to. Definitely worth keeping in your first aid kit for your animals.
