Awesome little item. Great sound, esy to play. You do need to set it up, but there are good videos on Youtube. I wish Amazon carried the Little Gem Miners kit...which includes a strap, tuner, strings and an arm rest. My only complaint revolves around the shipping packaging. The banjo box was inside of a cardboard box that had paper packing. But this box was placed inside of ANOTHER larger box, with paper packing. What a waste. This is a fun add to your ukulele collection. It’s a BEAUTIFUL instrument with the colors! It also sounds pretty good too. It sounds better closer to the nut than higher on the neck. Single notes or picking sound better than chords but you can make chords sound good as well if you play it easy and carefully and do not strum too hard. Maybe this is common on banjos, I don’t know, but there is a bit of assembly required in that you have to “install” the bridge. It’s not very hard to do but you have to do it carefully so that you don’t poke a hole in it or break the strings. You don’t need any hardware to do it. It comes with a clear plastic ruler to show you exactly wear to put it. You can figure it out by looking at the pictures on the box but there is no manual. I would not recommend this as a beginners ukulele. It’s a bit of an oddity that will sound good on appropriate songs but not on everything. If any string is out of tune it will not sound good and you have to adjust the tuners fairly often. I’m glad I bought it because it’s fun and you need to develop technique to make it sound right. I wouldn’t collect all four of them or anything but I’m a happy buyer so far. ... show more

This is a great banjolele!!! Sounds so fabulous and is great to play. I do have to tune it often, but the strings are stretching and will do better. It's a JOY to play.

Cost me $230 plus $50 for its accesorie kit I ordered from Gold Tone. That includes chrome arm guard, nice wipe cloth, nice wide strap, and a digital clip on tuner. The Nut on mine is installed off center and these necks are narrow. The frets required burnishing. All the parts on this Banjolele are bottom quality. However it makes a nice and very loud play and pumps the sound with its included resonator. Every other similar instrument I have ordered from Amazon is seperior in quality, and cost far less and included more accrssories. This instument can play well and rezlly pumps out the sound and is Unique. Just way overpriced, or at least, I feel, should have a centered Nut, and include the Accessory Pack for $230. Its still a likable instrument so it sucks to be screwed with uncentered nut. ... show more

I bought this for my brother as a gift. I have the same one but it is pink. i loved mine so much i got him a blue one. I would highly reccommend it to anyone tht loves a banjo or a ukulele

I was disappointed that the frets are not filed flush to the neck and instead have sharp edges. Sadly I returned the instrument since I do not have the tools to correct the problem.

I received this Ukulele for Christmas and have had a great time playing it ever since. It plays like butter and sound Bonjolicious. One minor problem and a couple of observations: Right out of the box I had to take the bake off because of a very loose head bracket. The problem is that having had a banjo before I know that the head needs to be "tuned" as it is tightened, assuring all brackets are tightened equally. I just guessed how tight to make that bracket. I am a little worried that the head it too loose as the bridge seems a little low. I have looked and can find no specs for setting this up. I am a little disappointed that Gold Tone does not offer a hard case for this instrument. I am also disappointed that Gold Tone does not offer a strap. I would think that this instrument is so unique that Gold Tone would know that after market accessories would not be available. I think they are missing some great sales opportunities. I don't know about and one else, but I like a good hard case for all my instruments, and I am not real hip on hanging a strap from the head brackets. ... show more
