It sounds good until you plug it into an amp. It sounds like a banjo on its own but the pickups are in the wrong place so when you play it off an amp it sounds like a guitar with treble.

    • Get banjo sounds without learning new tuning.
This instrument is beautifully built. It's great to be able to play it and get sweet banjo tones using the tuning that I know the best. I can play it unplugged and it sounds really good or I can plug it in to my amp and dial in the sound I want. Add some delay or overdrive for some interesting sounds. I did have to adjust the neck and shim it a bit to get the action down to what I'm used to but that isn't unusual for guitars bought on line. I'm very pleased with it and it's a happy addition to my stable. ... show more
