    • Decent tent if the weather is perfect

I thought about what to write as a review for this tent for a while. When I first took it out of the box, I appreciated the tent's size and weight, and liked how well it folds up for storage. I had it set up in the living room in literally less than a minute, which was fantastic. It takes about the same amount of effort as opening an umbrella. Then, I looked at the material, and it is thin. The seams have lots of leak points, and you can see a lot of light coming through. The window covers are on the outside, so if you realize you want them open, you have to leave the tent to do so. The stakes look like they were made from bent paperclips. The only positives I saw at first were that it is big enough for two people to sleep in comfortably, as long as you don't have a lot of gear, and how easy it is to set up and take down. That was going to be my review until I thought about it some more. One question I always have about a product is: would I use this? My answer for this is "yes". If it isn't raining, isn't too hot or cold, isn't too windy, and you aren't in bear country, or raccoon country for that matter. If you need a place that's big enough for a grown adult to sleep outside without being eaten by mosquitoes and don't feel like setting up a whole campsite, it's kind of perfect. I will keep this thing in my car, under the seat, and if I find myself in a spot where I need a shelter, it will be there to keep the insects from feasting on me all night, and I will keep another one in my "buy later" section for when it inevitably falls apart. ... show more

I got this instant camping tent because I wanted something quick and low-stress for casual outings with the kids, and I’ve honestly been really happy with how easy it is to use. The instant setup is the best part by far. I did not want to wrestle with poles while my toddler was wandering off and my older girls were asking a million questions, and this one was so much easier than a traditional tent. The pre-attached pole design makes setup feel much more manageable, and it really is the kind of tent you can have up fast without turning it into a whole event. For a lightweight 2-person tent, it worked really well for short trips, park days, and simple outdoor use where I just wanted something portable and easy to carry. I like that it comes with the carry bag and doesn’t feel overly bulky, and at under 5 pounds it’s realistic to toss in the car without taking up a ton of room. The ventilation is also nice, especially with all the mesh panels, because it helps keep it from feeling stuffy inside. That made a difference on warmer days when we were using it more as a quick shelter or hangout space than a heavy-duty overnight setup. The little storage pockets inside were also handy for keeping small things from getting lost in the bottom of the tent. The only thing I’d keep in mind is that this feels more like a convenient, casual-use tent than something I’d rely on for rough weather or a more serious camping trip. It’s great for ease, portability, and quick setup, but because it’s lightweight and compact, space gets tight fast with two people plus gear. For one adult and a child or for light weekend use, though, I thought it was a really good fit. This tent is all about quick and easy setup. It truly is an instant pop up design and can be ready to go in under a minute. Just lift it into place, secure it, and you are set. Once it is set up and staked down, it does a good job for short term use. The mesh sides and door allow for airflow while helping keep mosquitoes and bugs out, which makes a big difference when you are trying to relax outside without constantly swatting at everything flying around you.
