  • Still standing and dry 3 MONTHS LATER! Still standing and dry 3 MONTHS LATER!
Style: 9 Person (Green)
I couldn't be happier with this purchase. We have some land that we wanted to start spending more time on without hauling all of our gear every time so we decided to upgrade to this big tent so we would could leave our stuff there and only bring a bag with clothes along. We were so pleased with the size and especially the views with all the windows open. It was easy for two of us to set up and honestly, not much more difficult or time consuming than with our 2 person tent! My husband is 6 foot and can easily stand up inside which is a nice thing for him to be able to do. We decided after camping in it once to leave it up for the following weekend. We didn't end up camping that next weekend so we weren't back for two weeks. We were worried about what we might find. NO PROBLEMS! There was a tiny bit of water in the tent because one of the zippers wasn't closed all the way. But because of how well it handled, we decided to just leave it up with the bed made and all of our gear for the rest of the summer/fall. We have camped a few more times since then. It has been THREE MONTHS and we have had no issues at all. It has been stormed on and we've had high winds and yet it is still bone dry inside and every part of it is still intact. We are thrilled with the quality of this tent and have been very pleasantly surprised at how sturdy and leak proof it is. We would totally buy from this company again based on our experience with this tent. THANK YOU!!! ... show more

  • Fastest tent I've ever pitched. Very happy with purchase.
Style: 9 Person (Green)
Update: We ended up in a very heavy thunderstorm for several hours overnight. We saw the forecast the night before and made sure it was very well staked down. The winds did bounce the walls / roof around a lot. The tent was still standing in the morning. During the worst of the heavy / driving rain we did get a mist inside and we were pretty damp. However, there were no leaks / standing puddles of water. Overall the held up very well. It's a very impressive tent at this price point. Several tents around us did not make it though the night. Original Review: It took me longer to remove the tent from the cardboard packaging than it did to setup. We are experienced campers with a few different tents depending on use / number of people. It took my wife and I 2 minutes to pop up the tent. 2 minutes to pull the rainfly over and attach with Velcro. And 2 minutes to stake it down. The quality feels nice and the zippers work well. Taking it down was just as easy. Everything fit in the well sized bag the first time. I have not had this tent out in the rain / a good storm yet. However, I would not expect this to be the most rain resistant tent we own (that would be an NTK Arizona). The ease of use, breathable in warm weather, and fit on car camping tent pads where all features that made this a good buy for us. I'll update in the future after we experience some weather. Be aware that you do need to attach and stake down not just the base tent, but also the rainfly. The easy up design of the tent requires the rainfly pulling outward from the poles to the stakes to prevent the tent from attempting to fold its self up. It will stand up without the fly. However, modest winds will fold it up without the fly staked down. ... show more

  • Perfect Summer tent
Style: 9 Person (Green)
I held off on this review, because when we went camping at the beach there was a couple of small cuts in the fly in the corners, looks like they were somehow damaged in the packing process. Anyhow, I contacted the company, sent them the pictures and told them what happened; no problem at all--got the replacement today. So for me that is 5-stars right there. It was hot (98+, 95% humidity) at the beach (Corpus Christie, TX in August) and as long as there was a faint breeze we were fine. The top is ALL netting (so you need a good fly), and we went through a heavy costal downpour and we were just fine and dry (a few drops coming through the little slits in the fly but I have that fixed now). We had to zip up the windows 80% on the side the rain was coming from, but not all the way. The fly somehow covered them a bit. I thought the zippers would leak, but they didn't. the little fabric "flashing" over them seemed to work fine. There is "pop-out" sides with mesh for under airflow, that worked great and didn't leak. We brought a mat to place at the opening and that worked great to keep dirt and rocks out, I recommend it. We bought a bunch of little solar lights on sale at Walmart to place around where the ropes were so we wouldn't trip--they were in the clearance isle; that worked great. Setup was quick, everyone on line said you should do it in your yard before you go; I didn't. Took me 15 min in the dark with a lantern trying to read the instructions; next time it will be 5 or less. It would have been less but I figured that with the wind off the beach I wanted it blowing on the short side, not the long side, so I rotated it. We bought these all-metal orange tent steaks (Amazon)--GREAT. With those this tent would go through a tropical storm. I had the metal ones with the green plastic top but why chance it, get the all metal ones for $2 more (ish). We brought 2 twin size inflatable mattresses (the nice tall ones that are fuzzy on top and are basically an inflatable bed). We (me and the wife) had lots of space to put our coolers (keep them out of the sun and away from critters), our bags, room to get dressed, room to move around in; perfect. In fact it was enough room and cool enough in the day (full sun) we ducked in the tent to get away from the sun and weren't hot -- south Texas in summer in the day! I think it came with a divider, but I like the view. At night with the windows rolled down, the material started to flap, but there is a built-in solution for that, the loop and pin to chinch up the excess material. My wife pointed that out as I started to complain... It is not a winter tent, but if you want airflow and easy up and room this is it. Honestly, if it had a little porch it would be perfect. But for the money, buy a porch. ... show more

  • Rain and wind proof 100%
Style: 9 Person (Green)
This is the best tent I ever had. It is my 10th year as a single mother camper with 2 kids under 13. I love pop up tents because it requires minimal work and it is stress free. I purchased this tent last year to have more room and because it has more windows for summer camping. First use for Memorial day weekend 2024 this tent endured 12 hours of rain and strong winds in Saluda NC mountain with no leaks and I dryed fast. Second use this weekend new river state park VA know for it's strong winds. This tend resisted 20 to 40 miles per hour winds from 10am to 5pm and it didn't move one inch from the ground. I have owned about 7 tents all sizes all pop ups all brand names. This one is by far the best tent I have purchased in 10 years. We go camping 4 Tony times between March and November. I also purched the under tent tarp sold for this tent and it is the perfect size. I purched the 9 people size but it really fits 5 people on single air mattress with no room for your bags or anything else. So I recommend for 4 people with all your shoes, backs and etc to have room inside. The only thing I find that needs improvement is the mail door zippers. They get stuck where the fabric has a fold so you have to hold it with one hand and with the other stretch the fabric and you need 2 people to throw the rainfly over the tent because is very tall. Other than, this is a durable, sturdy and super affordable tent. I am 5.5 131 pounds and I can carry it in and out of the car to load with no issues by myself. I am writing this review and plan to purchase the 4 people size to replace y existing one to camp solo due to my experience of rain and wind proof 100% twice for me with this tent. ... show more

  • The only survivor The only survivor
Style: 9 Person (Green)
NOTE: This review is based on using stronger aftermarket tent stakes. No matter what tent you buy, never use the stakes that come with it always buy bigger stronger stakes. For this tent, get a set of 20. Weather resistance First, let’s start off with the big selling point. This tent survived 20-30 mph winds with 50-55 mph gusts for 12 plus hours. I was about 20 feet from Lake Superior with the only protection from the wind being my equinox I parked in front of the tent. There weren’t a lot of tents left in the campground but all of them were collapsed come morning. The core was still standing strong with nothing more than 2 tent stakes that got pulled up. This seriously impressed me. With how tall the tent is I thought for sure it wouldn’t survive. It took an absolute beating that day and it just shrugged it off. (A lot of this had to do with the tent but also proper set up is important. Please watch YouTube videos for how to properly set up the tent for wind or yours won’t survive as easily) On its first trip it encountered heavy sustained rain. There was a little leakage coming from the 2 interior pockets. It wasn’t much, nothing a little paper towel didn’t absorb easily. I ended up spraying some extra waterproofing spray in those areas and I haven’t had a drop of water come in since. It’s been through a couple storms and some rain since and it’s stayed perfectly dry inside. For overall weather resistance it’s seen it all in 3 trips and it’s shrugged all of it off with the exception of a fixable leak. Ease of setup The set up couldn’t be easier. By myself it takes about 15 minutes or less. It does take about a minute or two to get the tent itself up but it takes a little while to get it staked down and get all the guy lines out and staked. Two people will have it fully up in under 10 minutes. Design Overall I am pleased with the design and layout of the tent. It has one large T style door that makes loading and unloading much easier. I use the side door for day to day use. My only complaint there is the zipper likes to get caught on the flaps that protect it from the rain. Not a huge deal but kind of annoying. There are 3 very large windows that if you put the divide up you could treat that half of the tent as a screen room. Air circulation is excellent no complaints there. It’s more of a warmer weather tent, don’t expect to be warm in the tent when the temps drop in to the 40’s. It got that cold and colder my last trip and with a good sleeping bag I didn’t notice the cold. Getting out of the sleeping bag was a different story. Interior space I’ve included a picture of my set up that works well for me as a single guy or it would work well for a couple. I have crammed two queen air mattresses and two twins but I wouldn’t recommend it, the floor is basically just mattresses. It works best with one queen and one or two twins. It has a divider if you want to use it so mom and dad can have one half with the queen and kids can have the other half with one or two twins. There will still be enough room for luggage that way. Conclusion Overall I am thrilled with this purchase. The abuse this tent has withstood weather wise would be enough alone for me to recommend it. Throw in the ease of set up, excellent air flow and great design layout you absolutely can’t go wrong with this tent. ... show more

  • Great tent for the money (3 years going strong!) Great tent for the money (3 years going strong!)
Style: 9 Person (Green)
After much waffling on different models, selected this tent for a cross country road trip where my family of 4 would camp most nights, one night per location. That's alot of setting up and tearing down, and my two kids are too young to be of much real help. As such, the "instant" style tent seemed the best fit for my needs. Had been leaning towards the Coleman Instant Cabin 8, but ultimately selected this one for the weight, this one is about 10lbs lighter at a little over 30 lbs, compared to the Coleman at just over 40 lbs. I had also been attracted to the Gazelle 8-person, it's one of those that literally pops up; but it was expensive, and I had concerns about how well it would hold up to high winds, and reading the reviews it didn't actually seem to go up any quicker than this one. Finally, I searched around all the premium backpacking brands looking for something ultralight. I used to backpack extensively and am no stranger for paying a premium to shave off weight, especially for large heavy gear like tents. Brands like Big Agnes, MSR, etc. However I find that in the 8-person capacity range, the weight of those tents was still in the same ballpark as these car camping varieties (near 30 lbs or more). Based on that, I ruled out those brands because the price is much higher. I received the tent yesterday. Since it was beautiful spring weather, I decided to give it a shakedown. The tent set up so easily. Although I had spectators, I wanted to try a one person set up. Took maybe 2-3 minutes, first time, no instructions (I did watch a couple of YouTube videos while I was deciding on tents). As luck would have it, we were expecting some mild thunderstorms overnight, followed by another dry sunny day. So I had the chance to try out the weatherproofing and still have a day to dry it out before packing it away. So I guyed out the rainfly and also staked all 8 anchors on the tent itself. Heard the thunder in the wee hours of the morning and the gutters gushing right outside my bedroom window. This morning: not a drop in the tent. One little drop fell out of the zipper on the door as I opened up the tent. So this afternoon, the true test: packing the tent away. This is always the part I dread the most, since I was a kid. Such a pain to roll around on a moist tent trying to squeeze the thing back in the bag. Especially on a road trip where you're wanting to get up and get on the road, and it takes so long to break camp anyway with all the other equipment that has to be packed up and stowed. Takedown was flawless, despite a strong breeze. Dropping the tent and folding it up is truly a 60 second job, and again this was my first time. It did take another couple minutes to tie the thing around with the two strings provided. Honestly those are too short and too flimsy anyway and I'll replace them with some paracord. Then it stuffed back into the bag, along with the rain fly, in seconds. It was awesome! It took me 5 times as long to carefully coil up the guy lines on the rain fly so they wouldn't be a tangled mess, as it did to break down, fold up and pack the entire rest of the tent. I'm a super happy camper, so far. I plan to use this in a variety of settings, pretty intensively for a few weeks this summer, so I will update this review with regard to durability, longevity and other factors I'm not foreseeing at this time. The only issue I had with the tent was, somehow it came to me with no stakes. I wasn't terribly disappointed because the stakes that come with tents are typically short, crappy steel ones, and the reviews indicated no different with this tent. So I would likely have replaced them anyway. No worries, I hop on Amazon and contact customer service. They're unable to send replacement parts, the only option is to return the whole tent, which seems absurd with a tent of this size when everything works perfectly. After a quick chat with a bot, then a real person, they offered to refund a discount to cover the cost of the stakes, an asked how much I would need to replace them. Well I was going to buy good, long aluminum or titanium stakes with real eyelets, so I told them $20. They agreed, but within a couple of hours I received $30 + tax issued to my Amazon account. That will more than cover the cost of some nice, lightweight stakes! Based on this excellent customer service, my 5 star (so far) review remains. UPDATE: after a 3-week cross-country road trip, this tent has been an excellent choice for my needs. It has remained durable after 15 nights of camping with constant set up and tear downs. It withstood multiple days and nights of rain with absolutely no leaks. The only negative thing that happened was one of the poles had the little plastic green release button jam up and break while camping at Kaibab National Forest. Thereafter, for that single pole I have to use a screwdriver or other small pointed tool to reach in and press the button that allows the pole to collapse. All in all, for less than $300, this tent was an excellent value. UPDATE #2: Last year (2024), we took another 3+ week road trip across the country. Camped in a huge variety of places including: Devil's Tower, Lolo Pass, North Cascades, Mt. Saint Helens, the Oregon beach, and nearly a week in Redwoods California. Same performance as before, which is flawless. Still no leaks, holes in the floor, or issues setting up or taking down. I thought for sure one of the pole hubs would have failed by now, but it's still going strong. The one little plastic tab that broke three years ago has still not been a problem, I usually am able to lean over and literally pick up a stick to poke it and release the button on that pole. Today in 2025 I saw that Gazelle came out with an all-season version of their 4-person pop-up (Gazelle was a brand I seriously considered in my initial product research, you can see the details above). But it's $600, AND it weighs 40 LBS!!! For less than half the capacity! As time goes on, the value of this purchase becomes more and more apparent. ... show more

  • Lasted 4 years! Lasted 4 years!
Style: 9 Person (Green)
I loved this tent! So quick and easy to put up and take down. Easy to fit back into the bag. I bought mine in Sept 2021. I was able to use it probably minimum of 100 times till a really strong wind broke it finally. It had made it through really strong rain storms and wind storms of 70 mph gusts. One thing is in the strong winds the poles get pushed in and collapses the tent, which I guess is better than breaking it and I what updated to very strong tent stakes to help hold it in.. Towards 4 years of owning it and using it for multiple longer week trips, tiny rips near the poles and joints of the poles started going out. Definitely going to purchase again!!! ... show more

Style: 9 Person (Green)
We got this in 2017. I use it at least once a year. It is still holding up great! It is definitely possible and relatively easy to set up with one person. The ONLY issue is I do wish there was another entry point at the back side of the tent. Other than that it's an excellent sturdy and capable tent
