Several reviews mentioned the tent's efficiency in keeping occupants dry during rain, though its performance in cold weather and blowing rain was noted as a drawback. However, suggestions to replace the stakes for better stability were common across reviews.

Cons

  • 🌬️ Performance in blowing rain and wind can be challenging, with some reporting discomfort.
  • 📌 Original stakes provided are inadequate for securing tent in variable terrain, requiring replacement.

Should I Buy It?

If you are in the market for a spacious and sturdy tent mainly for use in moderate conditions, this tent comes highly recommended. It is perfect for families and groups who prioritize comfort and ease of setup. However, if your camping adventures are likely to take you into colder climates or expose you to heavy, windy rains, you might want to consider other options better suited for those specific conditions.

  • Awesome for big family
Size: 12 Person
So after an initial set up with one adult and a 9 year old in our backyard for the first time, it turns took about 20 minutes to set up. The second time with two adults, one experienced camper and the other not experienced, took us about 10 minutes. Tear down in Context: We are a family of five with two large 100+lb dogs. I have been camping my entire life, my husband is from Omaha and had never really camped growing up. As a family with kids ranging from 11-6 we still have stuff and a traditional 6 person tent doesn’t cut it. So here are my thoughts. PROS: - THIS IS AN AWESOME TENT and HUGE! Other parents on our kids class camping trip were referring to it as The Taj Mahal of tents. - Easy to set up and take down - THE BAG IS BIG ENOUGH TO FIT TENT, TARP, EXTRA STAKES AND EVEN MY DEWALT DRILL (more on that later). This is important for those of you who don’t camp often, tents are notorious for not fitting back into their bags and the struggle can be real. Seen more than my fair share of campers exhaust themselves trying to get the tent back in the bag. - SO MUCH ROOM! My family of 5 could sleep comfortably across the backside/smaller quartered off part of the tent and then have the entire 2/3 of the main tent for food prep/hanging out. We were able to fit a table with under storage in it, all our stuff, dog crates and will next time bring and additional table and collapsible wardrobe for longer campouts. - all zippers and seems seemed solid - the vents on the side make a huge difference in temperature inside the tent. CONS: - yes, it is heavy and wouldn’t recommend for a backpacking trip. That said how often do you go on an extended backpacking trip with three children two dogs? I am a medium sized woman and could still easily lift it out of the car and assemble it myself if that gives you any context. - The stakes that were included are fairly standard camping stakes. I purchased drill in camping stakes that I would highly recommend. They come with their own bit and I just brought my drill and screwed them in without problem and with that addition my guess is that this tent could resist most weather 3 season weather. Something we challenge on the Oregon coast with Gail force winds and rain and sun all within an hour period. If you have a big family or want to go glamping this is the tent and the price is incredible! Worth the money! ... show more

  • Worth the $ for the space!! Worth the $ for the space!!
Size: 12 Person
Incredible!!! This is the perfect tent for our family. We were able to fit a King size camping mattress and a Twin bed with plenty of room for more. We put up the room divider to make a separate area for my toddler, but it was easy for her to crawl over to us to wake us up in the morning. Since we could all hang out in one contained space, we were able to relax/sleep in/snuggle while my toddler just played around in the tent. We just opened all the windows to still enjoy the views! The set up takes some time just because it's so big, but it's as simple as can be and very sturdy. We lucked out with great weather so I can't speak to the weather resistance, but I can imagine it's pretty good considering how quality the whole tent seems to be. I thought this was a splurge purchase, but after one weekend, I know we'll get our money's worth! ... show more

  • Awesome Tent
Size: 12 Person
Bought this tent for Pennsic 51 (if you know, you know). It went up with minimal fuss, but I did need some helpers. I have a frozen shoulder and a little strength is required. The weather that week was nasty and destroyed many a tent and pop up. I had not ONE drop of water in this tent. The guy lines weren’t staked in the ground and the tent remained where it belonged with the stakes from the bag, although many reviewers say that it’s better to get bigger ones. I *did weight down the corners on the inside of the tent and I feel it helped, but for the most part the tent stayed put and stayed dry. The poles had some give as they should and nothing bent or snapped. Instructions were easy to follow. I will say though that if you need something extremely simple for a one man setup, or something light to hike with then this tent is definitely not for you. But if you have a helper or two and you want something luxurious for one or two people to spread out in, then this tent is alll the good things. Plenty of room. Nice and tall. Easy to put a big garment rack in it, easy to walk around and stretch out. It was just me and a week’s worth of costumes and gear and a huge cot and it was soooo wonderful to have the room! My one beef is the front doors. I wish the tops of them unzipped. Next time I plan to turn the tent around so that the back door becomes my front door. ... show more

  • Very Spacious had for a 2+ years. Very Spacious had for a 2+ years.
Size: 12 Person
Very Spacious; I can put a double mattress, pack n play , and my 3 older kids sleeping bags in it along with most our gear. The stakes it came with did not agree with the hard ground. Most of them bent out of shape. Luckily, my father offered some L bolts. They work great. I will need to get more. 4 days of straight rain we are still dry. Though we set up a tarp underneath the tent. Just in case! It comes with 1 divider panel that has a zipper down the middle. The loops tore the first use(but, my kids were hanging on it). I do wish there was more loops and hooks to hold the sides better to the tent it tends to have gaps. I also wish it came with 2 dividers. You can pick one third to block off with the divider in 2 different areas. We only use the front door now since the kids broke the back zipper. We were able to shut it again. But, it's not usable. Again my kids are rough sometimes and still learning. So I don't think it's a maker issue. The windows open well. But, there are no window ties to roll them up. I fold them over and tuck them in between the tent and the window screen . There's one extension cord pocket. But I don't really use it since we camp mostly without electricity. Air vents on 2 sides at the bottom. They work okay. But if it pours rain we may have an issue. Wish they were higher up and able to be closed shut to elements. The poles are pretty durable. We have been to the beach with strong winds and it's held up. I'm impressed. It is a big bag it come in. Everything fits if you pack it right. Also, very heavy. But, if you want a big tent that's study that's what you get! More hooks I would like for holding lamps or fans. Over all I love it. ... show more

  • Core Equipment Tents are the Best
Size: 12 Person
I have been using Core Equipment Tents since 2018. After leaving the military, my life fell into shambles. My wife left me, took our kids to Nebraska, and I found myself homeless working a part time job at a community college that I was also attending. I bought a 9 person Core tent to live out of. There was a small campground (Johnny Appleseed Campground) in the heart of Fort Wayne, Indiana not too far from my work and school. I lived out of this tent for 8 weeks in the summer of 2018. Until I found a small apartment with a roommate. About a year later my lease was up and I didn’t have the money ready for a new apartment and I was unable to renew my lease at this college style apartment because of my age. Again, for about 8 weeks I lived out of my Core tent at the same campground until I got a new apartment. I have since continued to use Core tents and they hold up year after year. I bought this 12 person one because I accidentally ruined my 9 person tent. It’s Memorial Day weekend as I write this. Next weekend I will put this tent to the test. It took me 30 minutes by myself to set this tent up. It’s spacious enough for a Queen size air mattress and will hold all my camping gear, a stand alone oscillating fan and even my two kids on cots. If you’re looking for a great tent that weathers the storms and keeps you dry, get this tent. Make sure to secure it down with stakes and the guidelines. If you don’t, that’s a risk YOU take. Set up was easy. Bag is big enough for all the equipment. Happy Camping! ... show more

  • Good tent for $, couple small things to fix Good tent for $, couple small things to fix
Size: 12 Person
PROS This tent is good for the money. Set up was pretty easy -I did it alone, on a windy day, and it actually went up pretty well. Rainfly glided across the top.. I'm only 5'2, so that made it easier. Purposely set it up on a windy /rainy day to see how it would hold up. Was bigger than I thought it would be, So did end up against a tree in my yard.. But didn't affect it in any negative way.. Making sure I also attached the wind ropes with the rain fly, in a steady downpour of 6 hours, The tent did pretty well. The inside of the cabin did stay dry.. The lower sides were a little damp .. and a little bit of pooling of rain on the rain fly, But overall protected the tent very well in the steady downpour. None of the furniture or rugs inside were damaged Not sure if the wind had picked up, How dry it would have stayed, since the rain fly doesn't come that far over the rest of the tent. The space inside is awesome.. lots of room to set up things well. Ample windows and screens for allowing airflow. Room divider was nice. CONS The rainfly could be a little bigger, or come out a little further to protect the walls better, Especially if there is wind with the rain. Would be nice to have two dividers inside, since there Is the ability to hook up on either side. My biggest pet peeve was When you roll the windows down, there's nothing to hold them down, like a tie, so they frequently come undone and hang all over the place Especially if there's wind. You can tuck them down in to an area by the window, But again any kind of breeze removes that from staying in place, So you're constantly retucking them in. The door does not open very wide.. It should unzip higher. I did not use the tent stakes that they included, as they are sort of flimsy, and instead used pre-bought thicker stakes, which did hold the tent very well, and the tent held up. Overall though I was impressed with how well it sustained itself through the rain fall and the bit of wind that I did get, and the ease of putting it up. I have read where people are complaining about poles bending and breaking, But I did not experience that in the short amount of time that I tried this set up through the rain storm (48hrs) ... show more

  • Great tent, changing my rate to 5 stars
Size: 12 Person
interesting designed tent. It looks great from the outside and spacious inside. Great tent to hang out if you are tired of being in enclosed environment like being indoors in the house. Get outside and enjoy natural air. I would have given them 5 stars but I had to rate it under five due to following reasons; No instructional manual, directions or guide, no instructional video on YouTube or from this company other than a video that shows you to put the orange, gray poles across. I had to figure things on my own. there is a pole that goes in the front and just don't know where it goes. I was able to put it up anyways. Can this tent house 12 people has claimed, I do not think so. It could house maximum of 8 people except if all the campers are tiny in size. Is the tent worth the price - not at all. I think the 12 person tent is a sell that makes the price. Would I recommend this tent, yes if you don't mind the price and you know how to put a tent without instructions. If you search for instruction video, you will not find any. It rained today the 4/9/2020 and it is water proof and stands against wind. This is great tent and beautiful wish I can post pictures. So I am going to change my rating to 5 stars, at first I was scared it wont stand the wind and rain, so it exceeded my expectation. They still need to put out instructional video though. ... show more
