I like this softbox, especially since it comes with the grid, but it is definitely a nuisance to put this together. The softbox arrived in a taped envelope of sorts inside of Amazon's shipping box. It was a tricky to carefully cut open the wrapper without cutting the contents. Once out of the wrapper the softbox comes in a nice soft case. Once I opened the case I searched for the assembly instructions, but there was nothing. So, I went back here to the Amazon listing where they did have some assembly instructions, but for an earlier version softbox that was designed differently and without the grid. So of course I had to wing in on the assembly. The version they show had the diffuser on the outside of the softbox, while this version has the diffuser on the inside, and there is velcro all around the inside edges. The rod insertion is definitely not fun. When you start the rod insertion you need to put the rods through the softbox material tabs on the sides first, then into the pouches on the ends. You might need a flat head screwdriver to open the pouches a bit for each rod. After you get all four rods attached to the softbox the real fun begins. This is when you have to insert the other ends of the rods into the side holes of the metal disk. The first one is easy. The rest of them requires a bunch of force to bend each one into the appropriate hole. Now, if you don't have instructions on which holes to use you need to come back here to Amazon to try to read the numbers that you must jam them into. Good luck! When you get it together it does a great job, but I would not want to have to put it together on location. The softbox is big, and it does a nice job lighting a full-body shot. The grid also works well. I knocked off a star due to the lack of instructions and the wrong instructions listed here on Amazon. Fix those problems and I will revisit this review. ... show more

The only difficulty was determining the holes to place the rods. The second try was successful.

Pain to set up but if its a for the studio and not location, a one time pain. The full width doesn't expand to the advertised size. it's more like 12" wide not 14"

    • Mark the holes with a sharpie so you know which ones to use each time on your Bowen’s mount.
I love this soft box, and every other one I have from Godox. I have used this vertical and horizontally with my amazon light/softbox stands (7 foot). It also tosses enough light to adequately light a 5’ 7” model, which is a bonus. When shooting horizontally, I can add a second one so it’s double the length (side by side). Love it! ... show more
