The one star is for how GoRhino are handling this. Pretty angry to be honest. The box arrived beaten up on one end covered in Amazon tape. Obviously broke open at some point in transit to Amazon. Opened the box to find no assembly hardware. Spoke with GoRhino warranty. They said they don't have the assembly hardware in stock, so it will take two weeks to get it to them. Also likely another week to send it to me. Rather than take the hardware from an existing box they have in stock, I have to wait 3 weeks before I can assemble my damn roof rack. Pretty poor service.

This was very frustrating to install with the pipes being badly warped. I am very mechanically inclined, this should have been an easy piece-together items. The 75” pipes were twisted. Like as in lay the pipes down flat and you have a freakin warp. One side flat and the other side lifted 1.5” off the ground. Both pipes had the same issue on opposite ends. There is a step where you have to install 4 bolts and all 4 ends of the pipes MUST be aligned. I had to shim and stand on a few of the ends, while trying to insert the bolts through the welded nuts/nut inserts. I was able to get a few threads started and pushed through but am not confident that I did not strip out a nut/bolt by forcing it in at some janky angle after working on just this part for an hour. I did not feel confident in its tightness and still worry about it, as it’s carrying my $3k tent. Any tighter and I could have ruined the whole rack. This alignment being what it is - is crucial. Very big mistake on GoRhino’s part. Knowing what I know now, for $800 I would have gone with the Pioneer platform. This company sales low budget thin metal materials. I don’t want to deal with the hassle of returning such a large item. Seriously, at this cost I feel ripped off. More money not always better. Aside from the terrible twist and cheap material. If you do decide to save a bit of money and go this route, the low profile is nice and the amount of mounting hardware - do give me a bit of confidence in carrying a 160lb tent. I’ve had no issues at high speeds or on bumpy trails so far. I would recommend paint marking the nuts and bolts - checking them frequently to insure nothing has come loose.

Great rack. It installs to the rollbar of your Jeep. You just need to look elsewhere for accessories. The only thing they make is the tie-downs and a bracket for an awning.

This rack is quite a commitment with the drilling 8 holes in your hardtop for the roll bar support system that this rack mounts to. I have 3 chief complaints. 1) is the low profile creates the issue of not being able to reach under the rack to tighten anything down to the rack. With some notable struggles, my wife was able to reach in there and tighten our rooftop tent down. Removing the tent in the future will be an issue. I will probably have to buy the $200 quick disconnects, which stand up 2” or more, defeating the point of the rack being low profile in the first place. I did buy a 14” long ratcheting 13mm wrench that should help with the removal in the future. The short ratcheting wrench that comes with the rack is almost worthless due to lack of access under the rack. 2) The SRM 500s crossbars that run side to side flex in the wind going down the road and rattle against the RTT mounting rails that run front to back. The 2 crossbars that the tent is mounted to, don’t rattle, but all of the rack’s crossbars in between do rattle. I took some dense black packing foam, cut it into strips and stuffed it in a few places to fix the problem. 3) The mounting plates on the roof do not look good when the rack is not mounted to them. The Rhino Rack backbone system by contrast has exterior mounting plates that are somewhat flush with the roof line and look fine with the rack mounted to them. So, put the Go Rhino rack on and leave it on I guess…. I do like the fact that the aluminum crossbars are channeled on all 4 side to take a 1/4” 20 bolt for mounting lots of different things. My RTT covers the whole rack, but if it wasn’t on there, there would be lots of mounting options. I do also like the fact that the weight is transferred through this system to the rollbar. Relying on the fiberglass hardtop and the rain gutter as a mounting point didn’t seem like a good idea. You can see when you drill through the fiberglass hardtop how thin it really is, and why it’s only rated to hold 150lbs. Even with the RTT I do not notice much wind noise. I do feel additional drag going down the road, but not noise. I think everything sits far enough back from the windshield that it doesn’t catch quite “as much” air. I can also still remove the Freedom tops with the 65” rack, which was a must for us.

Junk. First trip out and the rack almost flew off our vehicle. This is the slotted cross bars that connect to the brackets on the vehicle. Had to drive 1300 miles home with ratchet straps keeping it secure.

The power coat is noticeably scratched and chipped right out of the box. Same for the mounts. Hardware pieces are also missing. It is like I received the install kit for the shorter rack.

Box arrive really beat up and torn in some areas. Was assembling it and realized that both the side bars were not straight/slight bend on opposite ends. After 2 hours of loosening & tightening the nuts on the crossbars and front/rear bars...the crossbar nut holes still didn't line up correctly. Unsure if it was due to the shipping/transit or factory quality control issues...either way, this product is being returned!!! Will order another one and hope that the bars will be all straight next time even before attempt of the assembly.
