These are a pain to install having to unscrew endcaps from both sides and ends. Sometimes the screws are rusted and your need to reseal where they go into the roof to ensure the don't let water into the roof. For what these are, extruded aluminum, they are WAY too expensive. Once in place and everything screwed back together they are fairly sturdy. They held a 8' luggage rack with 250'lbs for a 20hour trip with no issue. They can hold two canoes with a little effort and double the straps. Will I buy them again for this suburban? I hope not. Will I buy them again for another suburban? Probably. ... show more

Purchased these for my 2013 Avalanche. Fitment was just fine and assembly was straight-forward. Removed the bolt and plastic cover on the trailing end of each side rail, slid these into the rail slots and reassembled the hardware. Easy enough. My only "complaint" about these is that unlike the rack on my 02 Av, these do not have the rubber insert on top to help keep anything strapped to them from sliding around. Not sure that style is even available any longer, for this vehicle. Haven't used these just yet, and may not be a problem, but I'll mention here for others consideration. At first we were skeptical of buying these cross rails for my 08 chevy suburban online but all the chevy dealers wanted $149 for them, I even called junk yards looking for them. We ordered them and they had arrived in 5 days, the box arrived beat up and punctured, thank the UPS for that, but over all the cross rails were secured and individual wrapped no damage. The rails are the same ones that we had looked at, at the dealerships. The cross rails are marked with which side is right and left to help with sliding them on the track of the truck. The installation of the cross rails was easy, but it did take 2 people and to adjust them to where you wanted them to be on the track and to lock them. We only had them on the truck for a month and a half and used them for a trip, other misc. stuff so far they are holding up we had no issues so far. ... show more

Great product. Exactly as advertised. Can see no difference between this product and the original part which came from the Chevy factory. Had a professional mechanic do the install, but they said installation went without a problem. Seller was also good. Very prompt delivery. Package came somewhat damaged but it did not damage the product inside. Would definitely recommend if one needs a replacement roof top cross bar for your Chevy. ... show more

For anyone looking to install, these DO NOT simply snap in place. Use a T25 torx driver to remove either front or rear ends of side rails to allow crossbars to slide into track. I chose the rear mounts so that I could stand in back of truck and reach both sides. Once both bars are in. Reinstall plastic side rail mounts and securely fasten. Position the crossbars as needed and lock them down. ... show more

We have a 2004 Chevy Suburban 1500. After I ordered this part I received an email from the distributor saying this item "only" fits 2007-2014 Chevy Suburban 1500. I took steps to return it but at the last moment took a risk and decided to try it on anyway. It fits. I had to remove the rear base plates. Once I had those off, I slipped the racks on, initially it stuck briefly, I hit it firmly with the palm of my hand, it slid in to place. Once they are on, you can pull the external levers outward and slide forward to the desired location. There are notches on the inside rail that run the length of the rail. Slide the rack to the desired notch and it will hold firm. I'm very pleased with the firm and customized fit. ... show more
