  • Nice and fast little ice maker!
Color: STAINLESS
So far, this little ice maker is working great! I got tired of paying $4.07 for a 7# bag of ice at the convenience store. So I just fill this with filtered water, set it and go. Makes ice pretty fast. You just have to take out the basket and freeze the ice pretty fast in the freezer, because this machine is not a freezer. The ice will melt down if you don't take it out. I like this machine, easy to use and clean, and it's fine for 2 people drinking a lot of ice tea in the summer. Glad I bought it ! ... show more

  • Works great!
Color: RED STAINLESS
This ice maker is exactly what we needed. It makes ice fast and is not too loud. Easy set up and water refill process. There are two sizes of ice to choose from; however, the small is bigger than the Sonic tiny ice cubes.

  • Super cool
Color: STAINLESS
We ended up buying this Frigidaire Portable Ice Maker after the ice maker in our fridge went out—and honestly, it turned out to be a better replacement than what we had before. Setup was super simple. Just add water, plug it in, and within minutes it starts producing ice. It’s surprisingly fast and keeps a steady supply going throughout the day, which is perfect for daily use or when you have people over. The 26 lbs per day capacity is more than enough for our household. We’ve never run out of ice, and it’s actually more convenient than relying on the fridge since it produces fresh batches continuously. The size is great too—compact enough to sit on the counter without taking up too much space, but still powerful enough to get the job done. It also runs fairly quietly, which was a nice bonus. Build quality feels solid, and it’s easy to clean and maintain. Overall, this ended up being a huge upgrade for us. If your fridge ice maker dies or you just want something more reliable and efficient, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend! ... show more

  • Good, wish it kept ice cold
Color: BLACK STAINLESS
Works well and makes ice quickly! I didn’t realize that it does not keep the ice cold though so when I put it in the freezer the pieces all stick together from the melting that happens in the machine.

  • Fast, large water reservoir and Consumer Reports Recommended
Color: STAINLESS
Not knowing much about countertop icemakers, I turned to my Consumer Reports subscription and discovered that this unit was listed as a "CR Recommended" machine. Unlike many of the units, this one has about twice the water capacity than most of them out there. It also makes ice extremely fast. I had pictured having to have the unit turned on all the time and really didn't want that. It turns out they tell you to transfer the ice to your freezer which is exactly what I wanted. So in the matter of a couple hours it makes enough ice to fill our in-door ice hopper and we drain the machine and prop the lid open so it will dry out. A hopper full of ice last us a few days. One of the negatives of this and probably all of these units is that it produces wet ice which will freeze together in your freezer (see pictures) however they break up easily with a butter knife or even the ice dispenser itself seems to be able to break it up. Why the wet ice? If you look at my second photo you will see several metal rods poking down. These have freon passing through them and get very cold. Water is pumped from the reservoir directly below the basket into an upper tray. The compressor turns on and the rods get super cold. Ice forms and in less than 10 minutes the compressor turns off, the water drains back down into the reservoir and the ice on these rods slips off into the tray. The air in the unit really isn't cold so the ice is wet. It then gets pushed into the tray and it starts all over again. The manual says the ice will last in the tray 18 hours but I move the full tray into our freezers hopper as soon as it is full where it sticks together. I think this explains why you have to smash commercial ice bags to break them apart as they are probably made the same way. I love the fact it was recommended by CR and the familiar Frigidaire name...as opposed to XFUNDUICE or something silly like that. I also love the price point, especially since some of the other CR Recommended units were over $700 and there was one that had the same exact rating number that was over $300! It comes with a 1 year warranty but for something like $30 you can extend it 2 years. That is probably not a bad deal but I had a hard time spending 30% more since it will pay for itself (based on purchasing ice from the gas station as we have been doing) in a few short months. Oh, and shame on the well known appliance company that won't stand behind our 2020 covid-built refrigerator with built-in icemaker. The only reason their repairman is lonely these days is because they refuse to honor warranty claims. ... show more

  • works great!
Color: STAINLESS
makes perfect ice, and pretty quiet. Ice does start to melt after a while but that makes the water colder as well so it recycles that energy ... takes around 8 minutes to make a batch , each batch is plenty to fill a glass and make a perfect drink . I personally just fill solo cups then put them in a freezer so they are ready to use anytime... works great! ... show more

  • Makes ice FAST!
Color: BLACK STAINLESS
Makes ice very fast! It has very simple, intuitive controls, and looks pleasing enough on the counter. Additionally, it's fairly quiet. Obviously, there's a fan the pulls air across the condenser, but it's not intusive or obnoxious. Likewise, the compressor is noticeable, but very much in the background. It's so unobtrusive, that after a while, you really only notice it makes any noise when you shut it off. You notice it's absence more than its presence. The trade-off, of course, with making ice this quickly, and a design that deposits the ice in a basket that sits above the fresh water (as almost all of these ice makers do), is that the ice is basically right at freezing temperature, whereas ice from your kitchen freezer with be much colder (and also takes longer to make). But, with the quantities it produces, it's a good trade-off. I've only been using it a few days, so I can't speak to long term reliability or durability. But, its performance is surprisingly good! ... show more

  • It was useful while it lasted
Color: STAINLESS
It lasted 2 and half years. It suddenly stopped working. It was useful however despite of o my using distilled water it got very dirty and it has very hard to reach spots. I gotta replace it but I definetly won’t buy the same again.
