This light is strong and works great in my 55 gal tank the auto day/night cycle is also a great feature. 9 different color modes which I thought could me more adjustable but still has all the colors you would normally need, the only con I would say is that the blue could be a more deeper blue but other then that this works wonders for glofish or just a standard 55 gal community tank.     • Good idea, but limited function

I had purchased this because I liked the idea of being able to use different hues to imitate different natural lights of a day/night cycle, but this isn't actually possible on this light. You can only select from the 10 preset light hues and you can't choose a custom hue. I would have liked to have used a natural sunlight hue that got increasingly bright until reaching natural daylight color to mimic sunrise, then had it gradually taper down to mimic sunset and finish on a very dim, blueish hue to mimic moonlight. The gradual increase & decrease to mimic sunrise and sunset works, but you cannot change the hue from daylight to blueish at the end for moonlight. It either has to be blue all the time (which does not mimic natural sunlight) or whiteish all the time. Can't change the colors for different time periods. Also, the preset hues all seem to be geared toward making the colors of different plants or fish more vibrant, but none of them seem to mimic natural light conditions. ... show more

The light works very well and it is great that it can easily be positioned anywhere outside or inside the tank. Cord length was ample. Was able to figure out the controls without reading directions. I like the size and brightness. A nice feature to have would be an indicator of which light mode you are on, but it works well and the integrated switch has good tactile response. This does have a timer function that is fairly easy to use. The lamp is small, but fairly bright. I don't find any modes like for growing plants or corals. Controls are connected to the power cord, so it is not convenient to adjust the light or schedule.

The media could not be loaded. This light works well in my 10 gallon tank. I mounted the light with suction cups to the top plastic lid of my tank. I originally mounted it to the back side but I couldn't mount it directly in the center with my filter so the light didn't look the best in the tank as one side was brighter than the other. Once I mounted it to the center lid of my tank the light looks good. I was able to follow the included instructions to get the timer setup so my tank turns on and shuts off at a certain time every day. The feature that it starts to increase brightness when timer turned on and decrease brightness when timer turned off is a pretty cool feature. It will turn the light on at requested time at low brightness and gradually increase brightness for 30 minutes until it's at full brightness (starting at 1 and going to 100 percent brightness). It starts dimming the light and decreases brightness for 30 minutes before the timer "Off" time (starting at 100 and going to 1 percent brightness, then shutting off). During this 30 minutes the brightness/dimness is performed in 1 percent increments. I included a video of me showing how the light looks in the tank. I go through all modes P0-P9 with the timer off. I then demonstrated taking the brightness down to 1 and then back up to 100. I then turned the timer on (which I already had set which shut off the light because of the current time). Then turned the timer back off, and then turned the timer back on again. ... show more
