I bought this to fix my line after my do chewed through it. Cheaper than having the internet company come out and fix it. Just a heads up I was fixing cat 6 cable and the thing that you use to cut the cable didn’t work right for me. I had to cut the first 1 1/2 Inches off for outside layer with the second biggest size and then change to the smallest size to get down to the wire. The crimp tool that secured the End of cable on works like it’s supposed to. Now that I know how to make them work this has allready saved me money and probably a little more in the future. This also comes with a little case that’s nice. Because of price and that it gets 5 stars. ... show more

    • The stripper is junk
The stripper is a piece of junk. You have to use the included Allen wrench to change the insulation cutter heights, but it doesn't work. No documentation in the kit so you have to figure everything out by trial and error.

    • A lot of Trial and Error to get a Functional Crimp
These connectors are fragile - the crimp tool will break the connector's metal shell and crush it rather than crimp it; it then falls apart. Takes time to master the technique needed to push the stripped cable deep enough into the receptacle properly so as to lightly crimp the metal around the plastic casing's purpose of fastening the cable to the connector's shell properly. Frustrating at best. I've worked on cables a lot, co-axial, twin-axial, fiber, CAT5, etc, never had an issue except now with these gold-connectors. I'd recommend these to only experienced installers who had a sack-load of connectors to use. ... show more

Simple and effective. Expected to make about 15 terminal connections , but the hinge pins fell out after making six. I purchased another tool for ten dollars more.
