Description

Gladiolus (from Latin, the diminutive of gladius, a sword) is a genus of perennial bulbous flowering plants in the iris family – Glads actually do not grow from bulbs but from “corm” – a closely related cousin. Sometimes called the sword lily, the most widely-used English common name for these plants is simply gladiolus (plural gladioli, gladioluses or sometimes gladiolas). The Gladiolus flower signifies remembrance. It also expresses infatuation, telling the receiver that he or she pierces the heart. Gladiolus plants are attractive, perennial herbs and semi hardy in temperate climates. All gladioli are easy to grow, colorful and make great cut flowers, hence their popularity. These bulbs arrived on time without any rot or damage. They grew beautifully and I loved having them in my yard.

  • Would rate a zero
Bought 2 packs of these. Not one grew higher than 6 inches and didn't bloom. The corns were small, some moldy. My computer has been down or I would have written before. Also as it takes a while for them to grow and bloom you cannot return after TOTAL FAILURE. I have planted these many times and have never had an absolute failure to get even one to bloom. The bulbs are not even salvageable for next year! Go to a local store! Almost $50 down the drain! ... show more

  • Ok
Bulbs arrived and all ok. No issues. It was none the seller bagged separately blues and purples and then reds and yellows. I did notice the blues and purples are significantly smaller bulbs than the red and yellow. I’m not sure if that’s normal or as you may know smaller the cheaper the bulbs. But maybe hybrids and the bulbs are in fact smaller. I don’t know. There was one or two dudes in the bag. Most likely won’t grow. Dry deformed small looked dead dead. But for the price and overall quality I would recommend. I would say out of 20 bulbs 17 will grow. I bought two sets of mixed. I’m happy with them and expect they will grow snd improve year after year. ... show more
