    • Keeps me warm

We had another of these heaters that looked identical except for a logo. Both work perfectly and have been keeping rooms warm for months now. I appreciate the safety feature of turning off when tipped. One of the heaters is in a small bathroom and occasionally gets bumped for the side. Knowing it will turn off if tipped makes me more comfortable. Another couple of things I like are that these are effective and small. Also I have asthma which is really triggered by oil heaters. Some of those radiator style heaters are super bad on my asthma when they eventually get a teeny tiny leak. With this heater there is no worry about fumes. All in all this is a good little heater. As with any heater like this make sure you have plenty of clearance in front and nothing flammable nearby. With a bit of common sense these are wonderful heaters. ... show more

The heater works well and warms the room. I only had minor issues that were not present in the Walmart Mainstays $20 heater I had to compare. I may not have used the heater long enough for it to break in, but it emits a strong chemical smell that the Mainstays unit did not. The mesh on the front is also thin and flimsy and gets much hotter. Both units produce the same amount of heat, but I'm able to comfortably place my hand on the thicker mesh in the Mainstays unit while the GiveBest heater's mesh is too hot to comfortably touch. Both units have similar functions, but the smell, the chance of burning yourself on the mesh, the price difference, and the comparatively poor build quality made it an easy decision. ... show more

First and foremost, it is very safe, as if you don't have it on a level surface, it will not turn on. If you tilt it, like have it sitting on its own cord, it won't turn on! That is always a concern with portable heaters, especially when using them at work. This is still in my home, K just got it an hour ago. I put it on the floor by my feet on full high and I was feeling nice and toasty withing minutes, like FIVE MINUTES! I actually had to turn the heat down to half and it is still toasty. Folks my whole house heater is not working and i don't have the funds to replace this asap. I will be using a couple heaters like this one I just got and use whole house fan to warm up the rest of the rooms. What has made this particular heater nicer than my tower style heaters I currently have, they stand about 40" tall and are like 6 inches wide and rotate left and right ... i this unit blasts more direct heat. The others are kind of nice but not compared to this one. Super nice heat immediately with good fan speed to boot! And of course the safety of it being tilted or knocked over. I have pets and worried they might knock it over and create a hazard. NOPE... I'll be testing this out with one of my Alexa plugs so I can leave it on and use voice commands to turn it on/off as needed, especially in my bedroom so I don't have to get up to turn it off. ... show more

I'm going to be brutally honest with you; because if not, karma has a funny way of getting back at you. It arrived in 3 days in it's original box with the address label attached to it. (not inside the usual plastic shipping bag, or inclosed inside of another box) anyway, the box hardly weighed anything. Years ago, I came to learn that whenever I would visit a second-hand store, and when I would pick up an appliance off the shelf that hardly weighed anything (compared to the better products) they would be much, much, heavier, that's because the better made product(s) are equipped with better guts;brass fittings, gears, etc. that would make the appliances or whatever much heavier and not make it appear like as if it was a lightweighted toy. Anyway, after thoroughly reading the instructions, and plugging it in and turning it on, I noticed that there was absolutely no heat coming out at all. I was very discouraged. I pinched myself, and said out loud, okay, I just got done thoroughly reading the instructions, and I know that I'm doing this right. But there's absolutely no heat whatsoever. I was ready to send it back but I was too busy going in and out of the E.R. and said to myself, as soon as everything goes well, I'll make arrangements to have it returned. I said to myself, I don't get it? There's 79,000 people that love it. But mine does not heat up at all. I hear the motor running, it's on high at 1500 watt power, and I'm moving the thermostat up and down to see if I hear the click I'm supposed to hear, and the unit is right up against my face, and it doesn't burn at all whatsoever. (At first, I thought it wasn't working because it didn't have that bright orange colored heating element on.) (Though I knew that the orange colored element that you would see in the photo, was just to represent the heat coming out much like other heaters that would be displayed on the Internet but it doesn't come with a bright orange colored heating element. I wish I had a video to post,but I'm old school and I didn't know how to do it to prove to each and everyone of you reading this review. So I gently put it back into the box. And said to myself, I'm going to try it one more time just to see. I plugged it in, and left the knob on the right hand side, to the 1500 watt power. (On High) And nothing happened. I would put my hand and face right against the heat source, but there was still no heat coming out. I then said to myself, it may just be that this particular unit, is a defective one; and that is why it was less expensive than the other colors they had. (Perhaps, just to get rid of it because they knew it was a defect, or that someone returned it. etc. etc. So I left it running anyway just to see.After about an hour of running, I felt the heat for the very, very, first time. And yes, it heats up well. Maybe it was something that I may have triggered to make it work properly after the shipping and handling may have caused it to malfunction. I like the fact that it has a tiny spring loaded thumbtack looking peg towards the bottom that if, and when, it tips over, or picked up off the floor, the little spring loaded mechanism on the bottom extends out a little allowing it to automatically shut off. As far as the noise, the best way I can describe this is: you cup both of your ears (much like a broadcaster would do) but pointing your hands towards your mouth instead of across so that you may hear what I am describing properly. And then you make the sound as if you're exhaling while breathing fog onto your glasses much like how you would do when you want to wipe them clean.And that's pretty much what it sounds like.(but not louder than that). As far as the wind output, it's like when you're holding your breath, and then blow it out as fast as you can. I then did the true test that no one would ever think of. What I did was: I got a sheet of flimsy cellophane wrap. I turned on the unit, and walked backwards to see how far back it would be before the heat and the fan would reach the cellophane. It was working/heating up to 42" inches away that I was I was able to measure with a tape measure. ... show more

    • Wonderful space heater for small room.

I have a small 23 year old conure 🦜 and our house stays a balmy 53 degrees (in California!) but I have the heater set up in a spare room for bird and clothes. It’s quiet, it’s warm and has several settings, including a button on the bottom so if heater topples off it’s stool there is no danger, it turns itself off. Small and portable, easy peasy. I LOVE IT. Way more than my husband loves the bird but that’s another story. ... show more
