Consistent timer, very low water pressure.
I purchased both the Gilmour and Orbit Single Outlet hose timers. Both timers are incredibly similar to set up. The Gilmour (as explained in more detail below) has better digital features however it has one awful flaw; the water pressure out of the timer is incredibly low. The Orbit Single Outlet Programmable Hose Faucet Timer (also available on Amazon) delivers, in my estimation, about 3-4 times as many gallons per minute. First the Good: 1) timer has a battery indicator on the screen 2) turns water on and off consistently (I have had the orbit timer fail to turn off several times despite having a full battery) 3) has very large easy to read buttons 4) automatically closes the water valve before the battery dies The bad: 1) cheap plastic construction, threads will strip easily. (this applies to the Orbit timer as well) 2) VERY POOR WATER PRESSURE OUTPUT- this is the reason for my low rating. I have connected both the Orbit Single Outlet Programmable Hose Faucet Timer and Gilmour Single Outlet Electronic Water Timer to the same outdoor faucet. The Orbit time can deliver full pressure to 2 hoses simultaneously. The Gilmore timer delivers about 75% water pressure to a single hose, when I connect two hoses to the Gilmore timer they drip slowly. This means the single 4ft by 4ft flower bed running on the Gilmore timer has to be watered for 15 minutes twice a day. The two 4ftx4ft vegetable beds I have running on the Orbit timer receive an almost identical amount of water in 8 mins twice a day. The low water pressure from the Gilmour timer makes it incredibly ineffective in my opinion. I would need two Gilmour timers to deliver the same amount of water as the orbit timer. If you only need to deliver a small amount of water, I would recommend the Gilmore timer as it is more reliable. That being said, I will not purchase this product ever again.

Junk!
This is absolute junk. Used this for a garden water system with sprinkler heads. I had ample gallons per minute flow and pressure to run the sprinklers until I attached them to this unit. The flow rate was cut almost in half. Thus the sprinklers did not work. I thought the unit was defective so I exchanged it and the new one was the same. I found that the inlet was about the diameter of a pencil just after the female 3/4 inch hose bib attachment (see picture). This is quite possibly the worst design product. Now I cannot return it to Amazon due to being on vacation when my return period ended.

So far so good....I like them
I bought 3 of these and have them set up on my sand point well for yard and garden watering while on vacation. My thoughts, so far: 1. Water flow seems to be fine. It appears that Gilmour has removed the restrictor that is shown in another review. The hole is now about the size of my little finger. Not gigantic but it runs all my sprinklers just fine. The way I use them is one side at a time so not sure how the flow would be if you were using both sides at once, but it appears it'd be fine. 2. The unit "feels" well made. We'll see as time progresses. I have them attached using those short 6 inch kink restrictor hoses. My thinking was that this would help relieve any stress at the point it connects to faucet. 3. Unit was very easy and quick to program. Just follow the directions. Took me longer to synch the time on all three than it did to actually program them. 4. Instructions say not for use with Y connectors. However, I have all of mine on large Y connectors and they seem to work just fine. 5. So far, no leaking. I don't think these are as bad as some people say they are, my opinion only. However, I have only had them a couple of days, but, so far, they do exactly what I wanted them to do. I gave them a 4-rating ONLY because I haven't had them long enough to be totally sold on them. Again, we'll see how they perform over time. So far so good though.

Like it so far but read on.
Like it so far but read on. Over the past 10 years I have used many hose end timers. All but one have failed within three years if less. Often much less. The DIG 7001 lasted 10 years but it's newest model is now over $100. I have never tried a Gilmour so here goes. I will report back if or when it fails to let you know how it lasts. It works well. PLUS: Replaces 2 regular timers Not hard to set up Takes AA Batteries and I use rechargeables. Reasonably easy to read display. Timers work independently. Says that it has a memory so that reprogramming is not needed when batteries are changed.I will report back. Has a manual setting where each side can be bade to water for a set time manually. Not both at once. Defaults to 30 min which I like. Good price MINUSES: If it dies while I am away it will destroy both sections of my jungle garden rather than one. Like nearly all of these timers it shuts the water off very suddenly which can cause a "water hammer" effect in the pipes. While this is usually harmless it is often audible. I install a section of hose before the timer to soak up some of the shock. I just make a several feet of hose and then fasten the timer at eye level above the spigot. Makes it easier to read too.

Dont buy. Poor manufacturing leaks internally. No help from Gilmour.
Worked ok first season. Brought it inside over the winter. Second season had water leaking profusely from the inside. Took it apart and you can see the plastic seam is coming apart and leaking. See photo. It is unfixable. Reached out to Gilmour with no response. Buy something else.
