Came from an asus b550-I and I have no regrets. All the odd behavior that was happening stopped as soon as I swapped boards. Great motherboard, plenty of fan headers and great overclocking performance. The only gripe I have is that the cmos battery is in an irritable location so if you are going to do any crazy overclocking be aware of that. And my Corsair rams lighting doesn’t seem to work sometimes but I plan on upgrading ram anyways. ... show more

    • Works well for my system
My ROG strix B550 board did not do so well for my old system. I replaced it with this board since I have a Aorus Master RTX 3070 in my build, so it works well together. Bios Flash was easy to setup and install for my Ryzen 9 5950x, and has been working very well. Error codes are nice to see, but could use a bit more clarity to what is happening in it. The Mellanox Ethernet card can sustain 7 to 8 gigabits per second between motherboard and Network Storage as measured with Iperf3. Unable to determine thunderbolt performance but moving large files between motherboard and network storage appears much faster than the 10GB interface. Dislike The button battery is physically located directly underneath the video card next to the rear release for the card connector. With the video card installed it is impossible to access the video card rear release. If your NVMe drive has an OEM heat spreader like the Corsair MP600 it can only be positioned in the CPU (C:\) position. In any of the other two NVMe positions I found interference problems at the PCIEX4 1 & 2 positions using the MP600 with my installed hardware. ... show more

Purchased this as an emergency replacement when my itx B450-I from Asus quit on me. It was the only board available ar msrp with 1 day shipping and so far so good. Love the bifurcation options in the bios so I can run 2 gpus off 1 slot as this board only had 1 PCI-E 4.0 slot. Has lots of M.2 slots which is nice. Fully aware only 1 slot is PCI-E 4.0 x 4 which is fine. The other slots are 3.0 standard, but they are perfect for what I do. Board has received 4 bios updates since its release and since those releases I've been able to fully harness the ram speed that I have. Just wow. Still sad a previous board was cheaper, but unavailable, but at the same time this does exactly what I need it to do. ... show more

    • Very good motherboard
Been using this motherboard for a while and has been rock solid....except 1 time. Motherboard became non responsive, nothing worked. It was stuck in hibernation and wouldn't wake up. Traditional cmos clearing didnt work, you have to take the battery out for it to actually get rid of this issue.

    • DOA for Christmas
The media could not be loaded. Spent an excited 2 hours getting this thing in my system and ready for my new build with the rest of my parts. As someone who’s built computers frequently and known what to do, pressing the power button after seeing the board not light up with the power supply flick was a disappointing yet unsurprising sight. As seen in the video, as soon as the power supply is turned on, the board’s RGB gives a faint flick before shutting off instantly. PSU is not the issue, as other PSU’s failed to power it on and other boards booted fine with the same PSU. Many reviews here are correct in saying to not buy this paperweight. Heard from other reviews here among the forums and other site reviews that even with a “working” board, the dual bios boot causes the board to decide to not power on randomly until the CMOS battery is taken out and put back in after a few hours. That is even more irritating than it sounds considering the CMOS battery is oh-so-conveniently located under the GPU. Gigabyte, fix your product quality issues or don’t offer this board at all. These issues are borderline scammy and have seemingly been an issue since the beginning of B550’s release. ... show more

Came with F5 bios seem to be an older model or something as the box has ready for ryzen 3000 series was easily able to update it to latest bios and it was super easy to do so highly recommend this for overclockers
