Ive been using 90% Nvidia gpu's for the better of 35 yrs , but Ive had it with Nvidia's ceo and raping its customers . Ive decided AMD is looking good these days and Ive been happy since early Ryzen and SUPER happy with my 5900X rig for the last 18/24+ months that Ive decided to switch to an AMD gpu . ~ Basically with the three ultrawide screens (7680x1440) I was going over the 12gi limit on my Evga 3080 FTW Ultra 12gig . I was not going over the 12 gig by much (so I thought, and proved otherwise) , but knew I was restricting myself visually , in game FPS , etc . Likely any future usage might/WOULD be problematic . ~ Hence the 7900xtx Nitro , going by some other reviews , the xtx was a no brainer and the Nitro was told , built well , ran cool and quite was an added plus and a must in all respects . ~ To make a long story short .... The AMD 3 screen setup was a bit to get used to vs Nvidias 3 screen setup and Iam still learning on tweaking the screens to my liking , but I expected a bit of learning curve . ~ Ok , day one just try the card out ..... NICE! ....running quite , cool and wonderful on a few of my AAA games thus far and definitely going over that NVidia 12gig limit to a 17/18+ gig average of video memory with the XTX . ~ I think (I know) I made the right choice to switch and the correct brand and version of the 7900XTX . ****** I must note though , the first 7900xtx Nitro was DOA (my first ever gpu doa over all these yrs ) I had Amazon send me another (kinda a pain as the changed how this used to be done) , but Got the new card the next day (thanks Amazon) , and the second Nitro fired up right away and in 15 minutes was up and running some test/games/etc. ~ *** Wish these cards had a 3 yr warranty instead of 2 , but I opted for the 4 yr after market warranty as I know 2 yrs is not enough and Ive learned not to always count on some companies on rma's being problem free , such as Evga's used to be all these years . Right now Iam very happy thus far even it only being day two of usage . ~ If anything major changes I will update . EDIT UPDATE : Ive now had the gpu for two months now and Iam still happy with my decision to sell my Evga RTX 3080 FTW3 Ultra 12gig and replace it with this 7900xtx . ~ Ive had a few problems , but nothing major or even closed to major . ~ Part of the problem was learning the best settings for the 3 Ultrawide's as one , and a few other settings that were new/different from my past Nvidia settings . ~ At this time all problems have been resolved/learned and all games have been rock solid since this review update . ~ Gpu does run nice and cool and quite (set at 50/55% fan at around 60 degree *c) and running at 7680x 1080p/1440p with all games running at its native rez with 120-160 fps on average . At this time I have ZERO regrets switching to an AMD gpu and happy as heck that I should be good for some time to come (including amount of gpu memory) ! *UPDATE 9/9/23 Card is still running great , no problems with latest driver update(s) , some games look even better at default resoltion . Since the PSU change all is extremely well again in all pc work including heavy gaming . ` ***UPDATE 2/1/2025 My beautiful 7900xtx Nitro+ is STILL doing fantastic and still at native 10300 x1440p (no upscaling or bs fake frames here ) while in AMD EyeInfinity ( 3 screens as one). ~ Card runs everything nicely and STILL not running it overclocked yet . ~ Stable , problem free , quite and runs nice cool and quite (very quite ) .... GOD I really luv this card , and it has been a good investment even at 1k and still NO need to upgrade after 20+ months ~and this is still on my Ryzen 5900x (yes oc'd )/MSI 570x as mentioned in earlier review . ~ Thank You AMD ,Sapphire and Amazon !!! I have built computers - for decades. Getting the correct GPU for your build takes some effort and research. Do your research, make sure your motherboard, cpu and power supply will support the GPU you select. The Sapphire has a good reputation and this particular model has very good reviews. I purchased a refurbished unit (finding this one new would be a miracle) and almost returned it after installation until I discovered a driver conflict was causing my problems. The gpu didn't come in OEM packaging but it appeared to be new externally. I have had good luck with refurbished items through Amazon. It is definitely an improvement over my RX 6800 XT. It has been very stable and capable. It runs cooler than my old GPU and runs every game I have thrown at it I have a 1000w psu, so power hasn't been an issue. It came with a rail to prevent sagging - a problem I had with my 6800. It fit my ATX case with no problem, as expected. Pros: stable, speed is great, gaming capability is good, stability is good, and a good value Cons: hard to find new, but may still be available from reputable sources on Amazon. I do recommend this product for those who do their research and know their systems can handle this level GPU.

I want to be clear that this review is more about the seller/listing and support experience than about Sapphire, AMD, or the RX 7900 XTX model as a whole. The card I received was listed in a way that made the refurbished/used nature easy to miss. Important condition details were buried in the listing text rather than being made obvious at the top or in a clearly visible location. When I unboxed the card, I noticed missing protective covers, missing peels, and minor scratches. I documented it at the time because it raised concerns, even though I initially gave the seller the benefit of the doubt. Unfortunately, after weeks of troubleshooting, the card has not been stable. I have experienced repeated graphics crashes, including DirectX errors such as DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG and DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_REMOVED. Battlefield has crashed with messages like GetDeviceRemovedReason and m_submitFencePlat->GetCompletedValue, with the error saying the GPU would not respond to more commands. Red Dead Redemption 2 / RedM has also crashed with ERR_GFX_STATE. At least one crash caused both displays to go black with no output until power-cycling or restarting, and some crashes affected the desktop/display stack, not just the game. For context, my system is not underpowered: RX 7900 XTX, Ryzen 9 3900X, Corsair RM1000x Platinum PSU, and Windows 11. I tested controlled settings including a 60 FPS cap, V-Sync on, HDR off, FreeSync/VRR off, and overlays disabled. I also performed extensive troubleshooting: motherboard BIOS update, clean driver removal, multiple AMD driver versions, driver-only/minimal installs, AMD settings reset, overlays/capture tools disabled, Windows SFC/DISM repairs, page file fixes, DisplayPort cable replacement, GPU reseating, power connection checks, and low-load testing. The seller’s support has also been disappointing. After I reached out explaining the instability and asking whether they could help with a replacement or refund, I went about two weeks without a meaningful resolution. Their earlier response acknowledged that these were “Used - Like New” units, but the card I received has not functioned like new in my system. Overall, I would not recommend buying this card from this seller. The issue is less about the RX 7900 XTX as a product and more about the seller’s unclear refurbished/used presentation, the condition of the card received, and the lack of reliable support when serious stability issues appeared.

I recently upgraded my Asus Strix 1070 to the Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, and it has completely changed my gaming experience (as to be expected). This monster of a GPU is a game-changer for anyone serious about gaming and graphics performance without shelling out for a 4090 and with the plus of no potential melting cords. Pros: Cooling: The cooling system is really well done! I have not heard any coil whine even playing Maxed Darktide (154 FPS) Design: The Nitro+ RX 7900 XTX boasts a sleek design. The metal shroud and backplate gives it a premium feel, and the customizable RGB lighting adds a touch of personalization to my rig. I don’t look at the lights so ehh. Performance: I will be using this for Video and Photo editing in the very near future. I will update my thoughts on that a bit later. I will include my Averages (These come from the AMD Adrenalin software) on games I play for reference. Everything is at 4k max settings (90% sure on all of them) Warhammer Total War 3: 56.5 FPS (This feels a little low for how buttery smooth it is) Warhammer 40k Darktide: 154 FPS State of Decay 2: 541 FPS (LOL this maybe off also) Deep Rock Galactic: 111 FPS League of Legends: 220 FPS Advanced Features: The inclusion of ray tracing and variable rate shading enhances the visual experience sure Nivida is supposed to be better but ehh not a ton of RT content out there yet and by the time there is in a few years I will get a new card. Cons: Power Requirements: This card requires larger power supply, I have a Gold 1k PSU that handles it and my 13900k just fine, so make sure your system can handle it. Higher Price Point: The premium features come at a higher price, making it more suitable for enthusiasts and serious gamers who prioritize performance. It might be overkill for users who don't engage in demanding gaming or content creation tasks. I got it on sale for 999.00 and was happy with the price to performance. I did not see the benefits of the 4090 to the price points they were asking In conclusion, the Sapphire Nitro+ AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX sets an awesome price to performance for high-end gaming graphics cards without breaking the medium spender’s bank. I will update this review later if my sentiments change in the future either in a more positive light or if I find an issue.

I’ve been building PCs for over 30 years. For the past 20 year I’ve bought primarily NVIDIA GPUs and only owned three Radeon cards for personal builds. I’ve even recommended NVIDIA over Radeon for nearly 14 years. That is until I built a system with an RX 6950 XT in it about a year ago and that was the first Radeon card to make me regret buying an EVGA NVIDIA GPU. After testing that thing I was floored at the performance. Now I’ve recommended EVGA every time someone has ask my opinion for a build. And I’ve never regretted it. They were hands down the best third party GPU manufacturer on the market. But unfortunately they’ve decided to get out of the GPU market entirely. It’s a true loss for the industry but given NVIDIA’s decisions over the past two years I completely understand why they left. I wish to God they’d come back and make an AMD card but no such luck. Now before I get into talking about this card I want to explain that if you’re more concerned with Ray Tracing, which is only available in about 92 titles at the time of this review and takes way too many resources to run, you will likely be inclined to buy NVIDIA. You’d be right because DLSS is a fantastic bit of tech. But it’s practically required to run anything with RT on and you’re gonna pay a premium for it. That’s the way NVIDIA wants it. And keep in mind RT is likely something you won’t care about in the end if it tanks your FPS or giving ghosting with DLSS enabled. Secondly if you’re more concerned with performance per watt then again you’re gonna go Team Green. The 40 series is fantastic for power saving and still getting performance. However, if you’re like me you’re gonna want performance and high memory count, but you’re gonna want it for a more reasonable (still too high) price. Well Radeon has that in spades whether it’s a 6750 or a 7900. So for me, once buyers remorse finally got the best of me, I decided to drop my RTX 3080 and pick up an RX 7900 XTX. It was a choice between the Sapphire Nitro+ and the Powercolor Red Devil. Now I’ve used Powercolor before and they’ve always made fantastic cards. The Red Devil is no exception. But Sapphire has managed to make a GPU that can not only almost match for power but also beat it in cooling. So when I was looking at the hotspot temps having anything go about 90C doesn’t exactly sit well with me and based on my research there was definitely a 5-8 degree difference between the Red Devil and this. So Sapphire it is. And I don’t regret it one bit. This Card doesn’t have its logo all over it like it’s some kind of Nike shoe for one, but it’s also fairly simple and sleek. I highly recommend this to card to anyone looking to upgrade and with the recent price drops of the RX 7900 XT I’d say that should be a mighty fine buy as well. Hope this helps someone out there trying to decide what to buy or just between NVIDIA and AMD. Game on.

Spent a lot of money on this, all I can say is its 100% worth it. 4K gaming is a breeze at 60hz/120hz (in select titles) This cards primary selling point is its aesthetic appeal, and overclocking/undervolting abilities. Simply a beautiful card with very nice programmable ARGB lighting strips built in (with synchronization cable) This model features Vapor-X vapor chamber technology for improved cooling, keeping temps down under load. The card is technically a 3 slot design, but its frame extends outward, essentially turning the card into a 3.5 slot design. This will limit PCIe slot accessories due to its shear size blocking the ports. The card comes with a support bracket, Although its pretty difficult to setup properly in order to limit card sag. Fans are easy to clean thanks to the single screw design, making it easy to reinstall the fans after cleaning. The 24GBs of GDDR6 VRAM will keep this card relevant for a long time. It's performance is about the same as a 4080 Super overall. A BIG exception is this card is capable of ray tracing, but its far inferior compared to the 4080 Super. However, if you don't care too much about ray tracing, DLSS, or framegen, I would get this card. Its rasterization performance is better than the 4080 Super and you get an additional 8GBs of onboard memory. So for non-RT gameplay, this card is a dream. Now for the software side of things. I personally use Adrenalin drivers for my card. The drivers are usually perfect with no visible artifacting or visual anomalies in most titles. Some exceptions are made for indie games with generally lacking driver support for AMD cards. I've only experienced driver timeout due to overclocking/undervolting past a stable limit. Overall the drivers aren't that bad anymore, when compared to 2019 AMD drivers. [Disclaimer: If you want a certified stable driver, I would recommend Pro over Adrenalin.] Overall, this card will deliver in gaming, rendering, video encoding, etc. with ease (within reason) 10/10

Honestly one of the best GPU ive ever owned. Super stable and renders like a beast. The AMD Software can be a bit bleh but once youve got this card tuned it smokes the competition and with the new FSR tech you'll wonder why you grabbed the more expensive NVIDIA in the first place.
