My husband and I did a ton of research on choosing a chair for our nursery. I normally do not take the time to write a review, but since I found myself reading every single review on each chair we were selecting, I thought I would take the time to review. Pros: -mid century modern look of the chair- does not look like a nursery rocker- love the gray color and walnut color of wood -price point - similar chair on other websites were close to $1,000 -the arms seem like the correct height for nursing a baby (we are due in March so haven’t officially tested it out yet) -I like how firm the chair is- if you are looking for a chair to really sink into this chair is not for you, but I prefer a firmer chair. -I am 5’2” and my head rests comfortably on the back of the chair and my feet touch the floor- some of the chairs I tested out my feet did not touch the floor. -The rocker rocks nicely on our hardwood floors and has protective felt in the bottom of the rockers. Cons: -My husband was able to assemble this chair in about one hour. He is very good with directions and said that some of the directions were not that clear. The main one being the brass nuts that you are supposed to put into the wood part of the rocker (the very first step) were hard to get into the too small pre-drilled holes. He had to use a rubber mallet to hammer them in and then figured out they were supposed to go all the way down into the holes, which is not clear on the directions. He said if he had put them in the wrong way they would have been impossible to get out.

You will find an identical chair on the more expensive sites for over $900. Just put the chair together, so haven't sat in it a lot but so far we are really happy with the purchase. Having a high back for head support isn't easy to find in nursery or rocking chairs. Excited to rock the baby in this one.

This is a revised review. When I first put this chair together I put the bottom on incorrectly and gave a bad review for comfort. Now that I have reinstalled in it’s great. Comfortable and rests at a nice angle.

The product looks great but trying to get the back attached to the seat has been impossible for me. You basically have a bolt you are blindly trying to insert while holding the back of the chair from falling. You can’t tell if the back is lined up left to right or top to bottom correctly. Seems like they could have avoided this by having the bolt attached to the back of the chair so you feed that through the hole then attach a nut to tighten. As it is designed right now, I am not sure if I will be able to get it assembled, I have spent 30 mins so far trying to get lucky, so I will have to box it up and ship it back for a refund. I am giving it two stars cuz it looks nice and solid but since I can’t assemble it I have no idea about comfort and being unable to use and now having to box up and carry somewhere to return I am beyond frustrated.

The cons- it wasn't easy to put it together. The two of us struggled for at least 1hr. A few screws were not going in. The small wooden insert broke off of one of the "foot", but it didn't affect the chair. The pros - it's a nice design; good colors; firm; pretty small but enough to fit a good size adult; not too heavy. Overall, taking a star off for difficulty in putting together. I've owned a swivel glider & it broke 1.5 year after, so I went with this simple rocker. Hoping it lasts!

LOVE this! We purchased for our daughters nursery and we love it for feeding her. So comfortable and if we decide we want to put it in another room, it’ll look great!!! Update: two years later we still LOVE it! I remember it was easy to assemble, something I forgot to mention before. As you can see, it’s very versatile- now it’s used for my new 3 month old daughter in her nursery and still looks great!

The worst putting together maybe I got a defective one but it took me an hour to put it together with my friends. It was horrible but the way the chair is put together you have to line up the screws that you can’t see in this hole to put another screw through the hole! I listen to all the reviews and I was really excited to think that maybe this was the chair for me but if it wasn’t so hard to put together and I’m box and stuff I would’ve just took it back. I wish I did take it back but unfortunately I’m not going through all that work to undo it all I’m just gonna wait until it breaks because honestly if you’re a heavyset person I don’t think this chair will support your weight the the way the back of the chair is it it’s Tilton and you can’t see those those screws to put in to the arm of the chair. I think all these reviews are fake honestly because I’m a big shop run Amazon I like a good deal but I like quality souls been a little bit more money but this is really bad. .I wouldn’t wish this on my enemy to put it together I really won’t though it was horrible.

Comfortable, good quality and sturdy. I like the high back & the rocking motion is firm and easy on our wood floor. However, it was not easy to attach the bottom to the chair. The bottom comes in one piece. I had to use 2 dry wall screws to go into fabric/wood because the pre-drilled holes did not line up. Suggest two people. All in all, not too bad, took about 20 minutes. Yes, I would recommend the Giantex Upholstered Rocking Chair.
