I researched a lot of these type of pieces for a few weeks, and I always came back to this one as the one that best fit in terms of color, size, and what I was looking for in this type of furniture. Even though years ago I used to work in a hardware store and often built this type of furniture, I was a little concerned about multiple reviews stating difficult to assemble even for experienced furniture builders. In the end, it fit what I wanted so I went with it. I just received my item, and I have just started put about half of it together in about 40 minutes. A few items things that standout: 1. Maybe this item has been updated. Although the item on Amazon says it is a "Giantex Buffest Server Sideboard," there is no Giantex labeling anywhere. My product says Costway, and, this might be a good thing based on some past reviews. 2. Don't be scared off by the "difficult to assemble" reviews. There are a LOT of pieces. Somewhere between 25-30 wood pieces that all need to be put together. But,thinking this is an updated unit, I found the instructions to be very straightforward. All the wooden pieces are labeled, as are all the bags of screws and hardware. Many of the pieces are held together with locking screws, where you have a long screw with no thread that inserts into a round metal piece that you turn with a screwdriver to lock in place. I had also seen some reviews that said the instructions were poor, and only one picture. With the Costway labeled product I received, the instructions are detailed. This definitely isn't EASY to assemble, but if you have put furniture pieces like this together before then I would just consider it time consuming because of the many pieces. If you aren't very familiar with putting things like this together, then yes, it might be a bit more difficult. 3. I saw some reviews about the unit sagging in the middle after only a few months. I kind of chalked that up to people putting to much weight on the unit. However, I did notice that in the box, there is 3-4 inch long 1x1 inch square wooden block in the box. Looking at the instructions, that piece is intend to go on the bottom center of the unit to help prevent sagging. The only reason I am giving it a 4 instead of a 5 is, the color is not exactly what I expected. I ordered the natural wood version, which I hoped would match my natural wood dining room table. Based on the picture, it appeared it would be extremely close. Once pulled out of the box, I would say the natural wood is more in-between the natural wood and grey wood color options. It might be due to the grain of the wood, but natural wood color looks more like a driftwood color than the color of a fresh untreated 2x4 piece of lumber. I love the whitewashed wood look, it is very coastal to me, so I have been buying items to redo our home. This buffet I had my eyes on for a long time and pulled the trigger on Prime day. We bought another buffet earlier in the year that was so hard to put together that we just returned it. This one was pretty difficult as well, just pictures, no instructions, but we did it, and it took my husband and I probably close to 3 hours to do this together. The majority of the pieces are super sturdy, but some are pretty flimsy. I would recommend the company pack these with more insulation. There was one minor chip on a piece that of course faces the front, but you really can't see it unless you are paying attention big time. We had several screws, etc., left over, not sure why... It is very solid and a really nice piece to add to our growing collection!!! No pictures as it looks just as it is advertised! ... show more

Came quickly and wasnt too difficult to assemble. The drawer base is thin though and arrived with the corner cracked/bent inward, still usable but was a bit dissapointed for that reason. Overall still a nice looking bar and great addition to the living room scene.

I read all of the mixed reviews and decided to try my luck. Fast shipping, box arrived without damage. I put this together myself in about 3-3.5 hrs. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand. I decided I liked it better without the drawer so I didn’t incorporate it. My buffet is sturdy and serves it’s purpose. I currently bought: Buffet Server Sideboard, Console Table, Wood Dining Table, Cupboard Table with 2 Cabinets, 1 Drawer, and 9 Wine Cabinets, Everything was included and there was no damage to the product, with that being said the instructions are not detailed enough, and putting the product together in 18 steps is ridiculous... this should have been broken down to a minimum of 31 steps with more detailed illustrations as the current illustrations do not show some of the details that are required to put the product together properly. I do a lot of these types of DIY furniture and learned over the years to GLUE all pieces in order for the product to be stable over time (I have bookcases that are over 20 years old and look great and are solid as a rock), As you can imagine this created a lot of issues as I'm putting together the current product and finding out that the pieces I put together and glued are wrong 3 steps later and then have to be removed because the instructions are wrong or not detailed enough. My biggest issue: The cam locks are made out of what seems to be monkey metal or "pot metal" or cast aluminum and multiple locks have snapped trying to lock and I can not finish the product, these types of metal are not a good choice for structural fasteners. This is the first time I have ever run into an issue with the quality of this type of DIY furniture, and I can not recommend to family and friends this brand if you continue to use inferior fasteners. Also, a few of the screws are too small and thin for holding the furniture together, some of the screws only had a 1/8-inch penetration into the wood... Luckily I have an entire array of screws and I chose out of my own inventory screws that are more appropriate for the job. I now have to source cam locks in order to finish the job... Thankfully Homedepot carries these in stock (better quality). If you're thinking: Well you're gluing it together so who cares... I use these to pull the pieces together like a clamp so they are necessary, even though I have used my bar clamps in the past this is not acceptable and I shouldn't have to do so. ... show more
