Ok so I can see how these might seem tricky to install but it isn't really. Slide the bracket to the side, and remove it from the hub. Pop the bracket over the edge of your iMac. Then line the hub up to a port, and move the bracket to line up with the nubs on the hub... Push the hub on all the way, then slide the bracket over to lock it in place. Viola. So I paid for this. It works fine. I have the base 24” iMac and it uses one port. I’ve checked the speeds and I can get the SD/micro SD to read very fast but is probably my card. There is a difference between the usb2 and 3.0 ports and they seem to work as advertised. I haven’t had a chance to check the usbC port but will update this review if it’s not ok. I agree the I stialltoon instructions aren’t great but it does fit. The tray slides off to the right and fits in backward. Overall I’d Buy again. ... show more

Apple does this thing where you have to pay more for additional ports. However, this very inexpensive thing makes it so much easier to have the same amount of ports plus additional ports for less than upgrading a whole computer.

I only dislike the fact that Apple did not include these ports in their product. I especially liked the clever mounting of this adapter so that it appeared as a seamless component of my iMac. The need to continue to use old Devices is accommodated. Without the need of cumbersome adapter cables.

This only works on one specific year of iMac. I didn't see that when I ordered it. Maybe I missed it or maybe it wasn't clearly noted. Not sure, but I couldn't even get this to plug into the back of my computer. I posted some pictures with my review showing that it is too big to fit in the back. I like the concept a lot, but the form isn't great. I found another one with a flexible cord to connect to the back of the iMac and that one works great. I don't recommend it because there are other easier options available that will fit any computer. ... show more
