I LOVE this opener. I bought model 7155-TKV (on March 16, 2022 and installed it March 30, 2022) it has belt drive, 2 remote control openers, outdoor wireless keypad opener, wall mounted opener, battery back up, safety sensor and WIFI control via the Aladdin Connect app. For some reason the delivery took longer than expected but once received, I unpacked it and started reading the instructions. I'm pretty handy and have plenty of tools so I felt like I could figure this install out....but I still read the instructions to make sure I didn't miss a step. The instructions were pretty clear with only a few question. One issue is when you're tightening the belt, the instructions direct you to make sure the turnbuckle is in the middle of the rail and then to look on the opposite side to see when the belt is 1/4 inch above the bottom of the rail. I did just as instructed but I couldn't get the opposite side up high enough. I tightened the turnbuckle as tight as possible but still it was sagging. Then I noticed that it was flexing the rail!! So I backed it off considerably and it really didn't seem to change the height of the belt on the opposite side. I made sure the rail was straight and the belt was tight so this instruction really needs to be reevaluated and corrected by Genie. My only other complaint is that the kit does NOT include garage door rail clips for the safety beam sensors - they only came with brackets and screws to be attached to wood. Around the bottom of my garage is my stem wall which is concrete and I didn't want to spend time drilling into that. To install in wood, it would put the sensors up around 8-10" off the ground if I mounted them to wood. Apparently they do have rail mounts but I have yet to find them online for sale. Other than that - this garage door is a dream. It's whisper quiet and operates very quickly. It's easy to install, easy to program and I could not be happier. It has a great feature where it starts slow, then accelerates then slows down again as it gets to the end of it's travel. This happen both when raising and lowering the door and I love this feature. I completed 100% of the install by myself but I'm a tall man with some moderate strength so it wasn't really an issue for me. As long as you work slowly and make sure you're being safe, it's no problem. Might have been easier with another person but not by much. Also I purchased the Genie LED lightbulbs for garage door openers and I haven't seen any issues with interference. They claim these lightbulbs are equivalent to "soft white" incandescent bulbs but they're really not. They're quite a bit "whiter" than soft white. Overall this is an outstanding garage door opener and I'm quite pleased. ... show more

Goes up pretty easy, two people are recommended but you can easily do it by yourself with the use of an extra ladder. Really easy to adjust the door raise and stop points. Programming your vehicles is pretty straight forward. Has plenty of power to pull an oversized 8ft door on torsion springs with no trouble. The wifi setup works well and allows you to open and close the door from your phone if you have a strong enough wifi signal. It also notifies you when the door is open and closed if you have your notifications on. When you do use the phone app the opener will beep loudly notifying you it's about to open or close. This door opener is soooo quiet. It is a little difficult to follow the instructions but if you take your time, it isn’t that hard. There is a guy on you tube that does it all step by step so if you have trouble with the directions, try that resource. My only issue was that I was replacing an existing opener which wasn’t the same size so the mounting added an extra hour on to the project. It has a lot of features that are great but not sure I will use them. Battery back up and alexa integration to name two of them. It works great. ... show more

After completing a great deal of research pertaining to the subject matter, I felt pretty confident in the purchase of this product. For the price, this particular product definitely gives you the best "bang for the buck". From hp and back up battery, to the incredible amount of operational options..... this one does it all. Not to mention the fact that it also comes with two remotes and an inside and outside control pads. The unit is very quiet, and the adjustments for "up - stop" and "down - stop" allows for a slowing before completely stopping. The same could be said for when it initially starts.... no jarring actions. The unit's been Installed for about a month now, fingers crossed, no problems. ... show more

I replaced a 30 year-old Genie garage door opener with this one. I couldn't be more pleased. I was able to remove the old one and install this one in one day, practically by myself. I did have a little help mounting it. I was able to reuse my old mounting brackets, so that saved some time. I don't know why you have to install the battery at the very end. That is a little annoying, especially because the self-tapping screws don't really self-tap very well. I drilled pilot holes. I don't really like ladder work. Programming the two remotes and the keypad is easy. I downloaded the app and it works flawlessly. Integrating it with Alexa was the easiest of any product I've ever done. It's kind of foolish that you have to set up a voice code. "Alexa, open the garage door." "What is your voice code?" "1234" "Opening garage door." If you are already in my house, opening the garage door is just a matter of hitting the button on the wall. The speed at which the door opens and closes is slow, so I like to start it early via Alexa. The car remote works from a block away, so that is nice. If you trip the door sensor when the door is open, it turns on the overhead light. I think that is a really nice feature every time my dogs or I trip it at night. ... show more

The garage door works great, is quiet and all the smart features have been excellent. The programable keypad that comes with it has been a nightmare, through. This is a great opener. I would’ve given five stars, but the first one shipped didn’t work properly. No remotes would connect and programming kept giving me an error. It became really frustrating. After three “chats” with Genie Reps online, they finally determined that I needed a new “board” which was on major back order so they just sent me a new motor unit.
