Perfect replacement
Style: Chain 500
Great garage door opener. Instructions were great. Works perfectly. Great pick to replace garage door opener that did not work after 40 years.

Easy to install, connect, operates smoother and quieter.

Last year I had to replace my 30 yo Craftsman Door Opener for my 16’ door and purchased a Chamberlain (original manufacturer of Craftsman openers). I then had to also purchase a “bridge” ($50) in order to connect my older car’s Homelink and another $45 for a device to enable my Wyze Cam/opener to work. This year I purchased this Genie Door Opener to replace my 30 yo Craftsman opener for my 8’ door. The instructions were good and assembly, installation and setup were easy (I’ve installed 6 in various homes over the years). The initial cost of the Chamberlain and Genie openers were the same and both were 1/2 HP DC motors. There were no additional “devices” I needed to purchase or install for the Genie and my Homelink and Wyze devices work great. Having both the Chamberlain and Genie chain drive openers in my garage, the Genie is quieter and runs smoother. Also, the Chamberlain opener requires the operator button to be pushed twice to open/close the door. I suspect this is due to their myQ circuitry. The Genie reversing sensor lights are easer to see and verify connectivity. Both openers have roving code transmitters. I recommend the Genie Opener. Easy to install (lighter) and connect, operates smoother and quieter.

Just what I wanted.
Style: Chain 500
This is a good garage door opener for the money. I’m 81 years old and put it together and up by myself. Their app for instructions was great and I couldn’t have done it without it. It took me longer than 2 hours as they said. Works great.

So far so good, fairly easy to install
Style: Chain 500
Well thought out, installed easily and is very quiet. Old system that I replaced was twice as heavy so I hope this thing lasts…. It’s a bit flimsy, but it works well.

Price and ease of installation
Style: Chain 500
Price is right. You might think the quality is not there because of the price but its solid. Its so easy to install. Instructions are available in the packaging or online. You will need a second person to hold things ip for you as you start to boly things up. Make sure to level the track and the main gear box is aligned straight with the track. This is my first garage opener install and replacement.

Difficulty is high on this installation. You'll want a helper.
Style: Chain 500
Difficult installation for a novice. You may want to employ an experienced handy person. Item worked perfectly and took a about 3 hours from removal of old unit, assembly of trac, running floor sensor wires, aligning sensors and wall switch.
