I don't know about using this to teach a dog to vocalize/communicate. I'm sure you can use them for that. That's what I got them for. But my partner vetoed that. She doesn't want the dog to be ordering us about or be demanding "play" every time she gets bored. (she's a bernedoodle, and smart as a whip, so yes boredom is a real thing). So we just programed the family's different names (one for me, one for my partner, one for each kid). My puppy freakin LOVES these buttons. It's funny because you can kind of tell who is her favorite. and she seems amused to hear our different voices in the little circles. They're also pretty durable. She chews on them and they don't break which is good. They're also super easy to set up and use and change commands as you desire. I like these. Knowing my partner isn't a fan of programing them to say "play" or "outside" or "Walk" I probably wouldn't have purchased them, but they're funny and fun anyways and weren't that expensive so I'll be keeping them.

got this set of dog communication buttons to help train my dog to let me know when she needs to go outside. They were easy to set up, and I like that you can record your own voice. Ours says “outside,” and the sound is clear and loud enough to hear from another room. The buttons are touch-activated and seem responsive, and they feel sturdy enough to handle regular use. No issues with them working or playing back the recording. As for training… my dog hasn’t really taken to using them yet, but I think that’s more about her than the product. I can see these working well for dogs that pick up on things quickly or are already used to training cues. Overall, the buttons themselves work exactly as expected. Just know that your results may depend on your dog’s personality and training style.

These are pretty cool. My dog figured them out but didn’t use them so they were returned, but they are a nice size and have bumpers on the bottom so they don’t slide on the tile floor. Nice. They program easily and I can imagine would be great for more than just dogs.

It only took a week and my cat is now over pressing her buttons and annoying me. She asks for food just to see it, even if she doesn't want to eat it. Cats should not have the ability to speak. The battery life is great for these, but the recording quality is very low quality. Sometimes the beginning or end is cut off even if I still have the record button pressed. They aren't comfortable for her to press down with her paw, so she switched to using her bum to press. They are straightforward and easy to use, but the sound quality just isn't there.

The media could not be loaded. Its simple, you get 4 buttons of different colors, and with each of them you can record a snippet of you saying something so that they can learn to say it for when they want to. I can't attest to its long term durability as I've had them for less than a week, but my 80lb German Shepherd basically punches them and they're fine, though they do feel light which leads me to believe that if I spiked one on the ground itd shatter. However, they work and are simple to set up. My only gripe is that dogs cant very well differentiate between red, pink, and orange. Dogs are colorblind and dont have red color cones, so they only see in blue and yellow light rather than a more diverse spectrum like we do. Itd be better if they just had symbols on them, but its not really an issue as they include stickers. I was able to get my 3 year old German Shepherd to understand how to use them within a few days, at first I had to teach him how to use them by prompting him to use it and then rewarding him with treats when he does, so I made the button say "treat", but now he already understands the "outside" button and even uses it unprompted. Excited to put these to more use with my buddy.

I’m a speech therapist and got these to use as communication buttons for some of my students who are new to AAC. (I wanted to go for a cheaper route to see if it was something that interested my students).These buttons work great. They are easy to record on and the volume is quite loud.
