I just got this on Prime Day and it was kind of an impulse buy. I needed a new hair dryer and thought I might as well replace my straightener that I've had for like 3 years. I used it for the first time this morning and am so mad with myself that I didn't replace my straightener sooner! - fast to heat up - I have long hair that's fine - this worked well and didn't flatten my hair if that makes sense. Just straightened. I was almost hesitant to straighten with my old one because my hair loses so much volume when I do. Not the case here! - Does great for adding subtle movement, I never really have time for a blowout or the skill to do it well, so I used to add in waves/ loose curls but my straightener was pretty wide before. The shape of this one, while slimmer, does amazing at subtly shaping layers and face framing pieces. - speaking of face framing pieces, the old wide straightener ended up making them lay weird. This one does not. - the round exterior shape really helps it glide through my hair, no chatter marks or resistance and the plates are smooth too. I'm sure it'd do well with tighter curls - my hair doesn't feel fried or dry afterward - just smoother. - affordable to boot. ... show more

I've used a variety of irons for the last thirty-plus years, and this is THE BEST iron I have every used. It's got great heat and a easy-to-use dial to select the amount of heat you need. I need over 400 degrees for my hair and, on my previous irons, it would take four or five minutes to heat up. Not this one. It goes from zero to 435 degrees in under a minute. Amazing. And it's so smooth, it just glides over my hair. There's never a snag. I get a sleek press that leaves my hair stick-straight. I'm so pleased with it, I'm ordering another one to have as my back-up. The media could not be loaded. I have not found a hair straightener that has suited me yet after many years of trying various kinds including those that are cheaper and more expensive. I bought this on a whim before a trip because it was listed as a dual voltage product. I have had a good experience with my hot tools, hairdryer brush in the past and so felt that this would be worth a try. I took it on a work trip and was totally shocked and impressed by how hot the tool got and how smooth it felt on my hair, which is wavy/frizzy/East Indian hair. I hate straightening my hair usually because I always experience hair pull, no matter what type of hair straightener I use whether it’s ceramic or titanium. This straightener was extremely smooth to use and required one to two passes for extremely straight hair that lasted. My hair was also quite shiny and smooth. The product heated up very quickly and has a nice digital display and heats up to 455° which is beyond what most of my other straighteners go up to. It has an indicator light to let you know that the product is ready to use, and it also has an auto shut off, although it will stay on for quite a long time without turning off up to two hours, I believe… I also attempted to use the flat iron to give my hair a slight curl one day and I was able to do this quite easily even though I am almost never able to manage, curling my hair with a flat iron with other tools that I’ve had… I don’t feel satisfied with many hair tools, but was happily surprised with this one and felt that I needed to leave a review as various good reviews helped me choose this product quickly… I used this product while abroad in Europe with a simple travel adapter and it worked beautifully. It does get hot near the plates and you have to be careful when you are holding the flat iron too close to the plates but they do include a heat resistant glove with the product, I just don’t typically use it. I recommend this product, although I cannot speak to the longevity of it as I’ve only been using it for a little over a week. I do have a good experience with hot tools and I’m hopeful that I just saved myself a lot of money investing in a more expensive product because this one is fantastic. One other thing as a bonus is that there is a lock to keep the hair straightener plates closed, which is a nice change from my old one that stays open unless covered with a plastic cover piece. Went to get my haircut and styled and I'd ask to have my hair straightened and the hair stylist used this product and it worked really good and it was super quick, it does get really hot so you got to be careful when you use it but I love it. You can control the heat on it as well though.
