Description

Manufactured in the USA by legendary GekkoScience (Sidehack). Currently the most efficient USB miner ever manufactured. The NEWPAC Compac features 2 Bitmain BM1387 chips (this is the same chip as in the Bitmain S5). The stock clock setting is 100MHz for 23GH. The possible frequency values range from 100MHz to 600MHz, which generates speeds from 23GH to 130GH. Please make sure you provide extra cooling (table fan, usb fan, etc) when running the miner because these can get very hot (especially when running over 100 MHz frequency)

  • Works like a champ!
Although I did check to buy it new I found it was already opened. I was about to return it but decided to try it out anyway. After 30 minutes of finding the software online it performs great. You will need the CG miner software version 4.1.x along with the ZADIG software so the pc will see the USB device and choose WINUSB. When you run cgminer it should see all your usb mining devices right away. ... show more

  • Company Begs Developers to Write Their Code For Them (on Github)
With crypto-mining equipment this cheap, the only thing you can really expect out of it is this: it'll let you experiment with crypto-mining and see if it's something you want to do (if it can become "worth it", based on savings from heat costs, etc.). After 2 hours of mining this and the moonlander 2 miner, I was able to make THIRTY shares with the moonlander 2, but have not made EVEN ONE share with the NewPac Device, using prohashing.com as my pool. That means that I still can't tell which is better, because the NewPac device isn't making any hashing shares, at all. This could be because BitCoin/Sha256 algo-coins are more heatedly competed for than the scrypt-algo-coins, or for other reasons. Whatever the case, THIS IS NOT A GOOD DEVICE TO TEST MINING WITH. Additionally, you will have to use the extremely-constrained CGMiner software. You cannot set hashing difficulty, which means it will be impossible to get any shares, and do any testing to see if it even works. There is a very long thread on GitHub, for the BFGMiner project, where the company apparently won't provide the hardware to the developers to write code for it. You want a driver that works with the stick? Good luck! GekkoScience doesn't even have their own developers and they have to beg developers to code their product, and ask them to do this, FOR FREE! So, what's the guarantee you have of reliability, support, and technical advice on this device? Oh, it's non-existent. Programmers on GitHub who feel like coding in their spare time as a labor of love and who cannot get provided a device to test with. That's your reliability. (Don't believe me? Google "bfgminer newpac", and click the first link.) Utter garbage, without support or config. ... show more

  • Bitcoin lottery miner :)
I don't count on earning anything with this... I'm just playing bitcoin lottery instead of buying lottery tickets :). Works like a charm cooled with fan @325mhz and 75GH/s. That was my second purchase from Eyeboot - I'm very satisfied. It was very easy to contact seller. Package arrived as expected (in about month). ... show more

  • Poor value for the money.
Did exactly what it said it would do but at a price that was 50% higher than elsewhere. Do your homework and search under the terms "GekkoScience" "Newpac" and you will find it a whole lot cheaper. I will give this seller kudos though in that they test each device before it goes out and provide you proof that it performed at the 130GH/s that they claimed in the advertisement. However, note that if you do operate this at the tested 525Mhz, it voids the warranty. Also, you must actively cool this at clock speeds over 100Mhz in order to get that kind of performance. I've been using this for 2 weeks now and have had zero problems and consistent 130Gh/s performance. NOTE: The seller clearly sets the voltage Pot higher than what the factory presets state is the default so that accounts for the increased performance. Again, this voids the warranty so proceed at your own risk as the manual states that the product is only guaranteed at clock speeds not to exceed 100Mhz. But if you're not sure what you're doing with overclocking, you'll want to visit the support forum for this device and get yourself educated before you attempt this. I use a simple USB fan to provide active cooling. ... show more

  • Raspberry Pi 4, CGMiner and GekkoScience
I purchased 2 of these ASIC devices and intended to get them to run on a Raspberry Pi4 with a powered hub. Currently, I can only manage to get one miner to run from the hub. Today (8/16/20) I ordered a GekkoScience hub and power supply to see if I can get the second miner to be recognized on the RPi (will update after receiving new hub). The one device/miner that is running is hashing at approximately 65GH/s with the frequency set at 300. I'm also running an Arctic Breeze fan on the miner to keep it from over heating. ... show more

  • These miners work great
I solved the issues i was having with one of my miners by turning the frequency up on these to 300 they blast at 300 just make sure as always you have a fan to cool these badboys i have 3 2packs with these so a fan was standard in the 1st place, run them on a powered hub or you might take out a usb by accident remember these run at a high frequency and require a lil juice, but not much i get a respectable 65-78 gh at this frequency per miner ... show more

  • 🙂
Was just what I was looking for. Knowing that I was just learning and not trying to profit. It was perfect to teach me all about mining. Though it's protocol is stuck, I still manage to mine a few lesser known coin, that if they happen to take off. Great!! If not, at least I can hold on to the "lottery coin" longer then a scratch off! ... show more
