STABLE WITH A SOFT FEEL The CX14 Hyper shape utilizes our thicker 14mm stability profile. The paddle is excellent for players coming to experience Gearbox's SST Technology, from a lesser performing thick honeycomb core paddle. The New CX14 Hyper paddle has a longer handle and combined with a shorter, Quad-shaped face. This combination of a longer lever with a smaller head, gives this paddle a unique playstyle, making it quick and maneuverable despite being 14mm. It offers the agility of an 11mm paddle with the stability and feel of a thick core paddle. The feel is surprisingly fast in your hands. The longer handle easily accommodates a two-handed shot. It is excellent for players who enjoy the feel of a thicker honeycomb core paddle but want the durability and performance of Gearbox's 1 SST ribbed core technology. If you are looking for an elongated paddle thick core paddle, try the CX14 Elongated.SPECIFICATIONS:Paddle Face Finish: 3K Woven Carbon FiberRibbed Core Material: T-700 Carbon FiberCore Construction: Patented Carbon Fiber ChambersHead Shape: H (Hyper)Weight: 8.0 ozHandle Circumference: 3 5/8À or 3 15/16À gripHandle Length: 5-5/8"Paddle Length: 15-5/8"Paddle Width: 8"Paddle Thickness: 14mmGrip: Gearbox Smooth Wrap - BlackWarranty: 1 yearUSAPA Approved

Amazing pop, control, so responsive! Making shots that would not have gone over with my old paddle!
Size: Grip 3 5/8"

Great Paddle!
Size: Grip 3 5/8"
This paddle works great for dinks, pops and slams. Its got a great feel around the NVZ and it allows me to control my shots easily. If you can afford it, buy it!

Lightweight and gives a nice spin
Size: Grip 3 15/16"
This is my second pickleball paddle and I like the upgrade alot. I'm an avid player working to get better. This paddle is lightweight and has texturing that adds spin to the ball.

Well built paddle, great spin, excellent control, but lacks power
Size: Grip 3 5/8"
I tried this paddle out and it is a very soft, cushy and nice feeling paddle to hit with. It provides excellent spin and ball control, especially for dinks. Where its lacking is in the power department. I was shocked at how little speed the ball carries compared to my fiberglass paddle on serves and returns. This had led to a lot of balls into the net. I'm sure I could adjust my playing for this paddle, as some reviewers love this paddle after the necessary adjustment period. For me the lack of driving power with an easy swing was too much of an annoyance. Perhaps their new Gearbox "Ultimate Power" upgraded paddles would suit me better... but the price...

Great paddle
Size: Grip 3 5/8"
I love the paddle but wish I would have ordered the bigger gripe. It’s not a real power paddle but great for placement.

Might be great...

4.0 Player. I've had a Paddletek Tempest Wave Pro for almost 2 years and love it. I've tried almost every Selkirk there is and can't find one I really like. I figured I'd give this Gearbox GX14H a try based on the great recommendations and reviews. At $199 not cheap. I've play twice with it for 2 hours each time. The first session I missed a bunch of serves and overheads but immediately noticed how soft it was. "Soft" meaning I could drop shots easier and stop banger drives easier. Today I almost fell in love. The drops are definitely easier, the banger drives are easier and the killer dead shot stops that just go over the net are easier. This thing is awesome. I think I may be dinking better as well. I have a feeling it will become my go to paddle from now on. I will play a few more times with it and then try the Wave Pro again. I clearly have to hit harder to get the same speed out of the Gearbox that I get out of my Paddletek but I don't care...my game isn't about power anyway. It's definitely a paddle you adjust to, but it's worth it.

Great Paddle
Size: Grip 3 5/8"
My wife had the luck of being able to try this paddle out (along with 5 others) and she fell in love with it instantly. Feels feather light and seems to be very sturdy since she likes to pluck the pickleballs up off the pavement ! For me, way to light. I can't generate much power with it but still have good control.

A Certain Upgrade from the GX Series
Size: Grip 3 15/16"
I am coming over to the CX14H from a GX5 Control 8.5 and GX5 Power 8.5. With all of my paddles, I overwrap for a larger grip and I've done the same here. With the CX14H the paddle feels more than half an ounce lighter than my prior paddles. Further, the CX14H feels notably softer and allows for better control in the short game. The soft game may be easier, but I'm still able to smash when the opportunity presents itself. Overall, a worthy upgrade from the GX series. As far as cons go, I can only think of two. One, while I love the natural carbon finish, there are vertical lines and imperfections. They are difficult to capture in pictures, and honestly, I don't care; I just worry that they could be a sign of failure. If I'm wrong, I suppose this isn't a flaw. Second, the paddle seems to spin the ball just a little less than the GX5 Control 8.5. Bending a return off the court seems a little harder than with the GX5C8.5. However, on serves, I was able to get a noticeable left curve and drop with a left kick on contact pretty well, so even this might just be an adaptation to a new paddle. This was, for its part, the easiest paddle I've adapted to. Not sure what I'll be doing with my GXs now!
