I bought these a while ago because I thought the bulb in my lamp was starting to fade and flutter. Well, that bulb lasted longer than I thought - the problem was momentary interruptions of power which then drove us crazy. Anyway, I just popped a GE bulb in the lamp and was amazed how much light emanated from it. Cannot attest to how long it lasts though. And that lamp did not have a dimmable switch, so I can't review that either. Maybe when the other dimmable lamp loses light, I can review further. ... show more

    • I saw the light
So I had bought a house and there was a dimmer switch in the living room, but when I used it the bulbs buzzed like the like a hummingbird that was having a seizure. The bulbs still dimmed to a decent light output but I was afraid it was burst into flames. The bulbs themselves are a tad larger than what I had originally, and if you look for it they peak outside the tops of the sconces. Anyways they dim pretty darn low, more than I would need. I do have one of those round dimmer switches so I can get them pretty low with a softer touch. Also no buzzing, so much happier with my new setup now that I’m not blinding myself with light. The other good thing is they produce way less heat that my old CFL or HE incandescent. The CFLs I had in place were rated at 13W and these at 8.5w. I know it’s not much but it adds up, and since I don’t have AC, it keeps the heat down for those warmer summer months. I plan on switching the rest of the fixtures with similar GE LEDs just needed the dimmable for the living room. Plus I was able to use the old bulbs on fixtures that either I didn’t have anything in place because of other blowouts in the garage, were I wasn’t to fussy about light temps, or colors. Either way I’m happy with my purchase, and look forward to replacing the rest of the bulbs throughout the house for better savings. ... show more

    • Super low dimming, flickery with power fluctuations.
I like these bulbs fairly well. I've been using them about three years. Good color, and they dim super low. My only complaint is that at low brightness they are very sensitive to power fluctuations and will flicker quite a bit. I live in an old house in an old neighborhood, and the power coming in from the line fluctuates about 5V, and it causes these bulbs to flicker a lot. ... show more

Bought these a few years ago, and just now getting around to replacing some others I missed. Work very well, and last a lot longer than the old bulbs. Good set for the price per item amount of $2.74 each, then again, I remember when incandescent bulbs cost .65 each. NOT rated for outdoor use. They do dim, they are soft white, (Yellow) and do not burn hot. ... show more

I would definitely buy these bulbs again. I love the warm, relaxed color that closely resembles regular incandescent lighting. They dim smoothly and haven’t flickered like other brands I’ve tried in the past. Highly recommended!

    • Poor quality last only a few months.
Couple of them last less than a year, definitely not 13 year life. Not sure what kind of quality control they have, it turns out to be very expensive.
