This was the last of 5 GE appliances we replaced. We had a GE 30” electric cooktop previously so install was a piece of cake (minus getting power for the igniter and gas run). Yes, the plastic knobs sit too high and can easily burn, and yes you can probably scratch it all up if you don’t use the right stuff to clean it with. However, if you use stainless steel cleaner and a scratch free rag and are cautious moving the heavy grates on & off you’ll be fine. I replaced a solid ceramic cooktop with this gas model. It fit into the granite top very well. It came set up for natural gas which made it easy just to connect and go. I did have to add a 120v outlet in the cabinet to power the ignitors. I like the continuous grates that allow you to move a pot over easily. Bought this to replace my electric stovetop. We had gas run to the kitchen and love cooking on gas now. GE offers a guarantee if you are replacing one of their stovetops of the same size (30'', 34'' etc) that the opening in the countertop will fit. It did and so it wasnt too much of a hassle to replace. We also got the matching griddle that sits over the left two burners. The grills are dishwasher safe as well. Only thing I wish it came with is a wok support but my wok has a small ring which sits on top to allow for a proper round bottomed wok to rest. ... show more

    • Nice unit for the price
Installation was fairly simple. Converting for propane was not fun. I was forced to buy 2 new tools to complete the job. It takes a tiny shafted screwdriver to adjust flame. The shaft needs to about 1" plus. Changing the orifices required long needle nose pliers. The ones I owned where to big to hold the new orifice. They have a tool for this, but no one in my town had one for reasonable price($12). The were some very tiny scratches here and there. Very hard to see though. Maybe 3 of them; but under the grates. We did a lot of research before purchasing this product. We actually first ordered it through Home Depot (who I really, really would NEVER recommend to anyone) and when they said one day before delivery that was scheduled over a month out that they couldn't make it, I found the same stove on Amazon that could be here next day! Ordered it, arrived on time, installation was a breeze, fit the countertop footprint perfectly. Looks so much better than the other one! Saw a lot of reviews about the plastic handles and honestly I have had no issues with them and they look beautiful. ... show more

Looks fantastic. Cooking surface is flat and sturdy so big heavy pots and pans don't wobble. To fit 5 burners, two front burners are close to the control knobs, so a big pot on high heat on one of the front burners can make the knob hot. We adjusted our cooking habits accordingly and it's not as big a deal as some reviewers have suggested. Easy to drop into the existing cutout in our granite countertop without modification. I really like this stovetop but the grill goes to the edge of the stovetop and gets hot ( like it’s supposed to) so I have to be careful and keep my hands and any paper away from the edge.
