This works well. I like that the dials are simple to use, and that it stays lit after you turn it off to remind you that the surface is still hot. The downside is that it scratches easily on top. And, if you or someone else using it is impatient and turns it to high to hasten the warming, then forgets to turn it back down, the bottom of your pot burns and so does the cooktop. Starting at a medium heat setting is fine, it warms up pretty quickly. It's easy to clean, until the top gets scratchy and burned, then not so much. I would buy it again for my own use, because I would take better care of it than my renter does so none of the problems would be an issue. I do wish it had a self shut off timer, so that if he forgets to turn it off, I don't need to worry. ... show more
